Duh, I forgot to add the yogurt and berries so I've got 217 calories remaining after having less than a teaspoon of nutella. I just kind of very thinly coat the back of a teaspoon and lick it off a couple of times, seems to do the trick.

Cantteach · 30/08/2020 10:12

Well after missing out on sandwich day, I've lost 0.2lb. Still at least scales are going the right way. Blueberry pancakes for brunch. Will need to have a think about dinner.

Tantric I had 15g chocolate spread and it was enough to have has a rare treat Smile

Jollyholibobs · 30/08/2020 11:16

Day 17 total loss 10.4lbs

I am amazed at how I am not hungry. I have in the last few days added 16:8 to the mix and yesterday because I had to go out when I might have started eating I went all day until dinner then had a tuna steak in sesame crust and loads of green veg. And thoroughly enjoyed it.

I’m going for a run shortly. It will be interesting to see how my energy levels are.

Flibbertyjibbit · 30/08/2020 12:31

@Cantteach what recipe are you using for the blueberry pancakes?

Another 1lb gone here. DH is in a very good mood as today he's now lost 1 stone in total, we're on day 19!

outwest · 30/08/2020 12:46

Goal of 70kg reached this morning's weigh-in, a loss of exactly 20kg (3 stone 2lbs). It has taken one week short of four months. Don't expect weight to stick exactly at 70kg over the next few days, but this is good enough.

Was beginning to think it would never happen. Still, if had not been cheating a bit over this last month, and if had not reduced exercise due to volume of work, would probably have got there 2-3 weeks quicker.

For those just starting, can say that it absolutely works if you count what you're eating, with honesty, and stick to the recipes or to verified equivalents. Don't wing it.

Good luck everybody.
Off to the maintenance thread I go...

Cantteach · 30/08/2020 12:54

Blueberry pancakes from 800 recipe book
75g brown self raising flour
15g oats (Not jumbo)
1 egg
100ml whole milk
125g blueberries
2 TSP oil for frying

I can't find brown self raising so swap 1.5tbsp for baking powder. Mix together, reserving few berries to put on cooked pancakes. I used fry light as old habits die hard! Serves 2.

Book says 284cals, with fry light MFP said 251. Book suggests serving with 2tbsp yogurt and 10g flaked almonds as well which add on quite a few calories. Book says you can add a banana on non fast days. They do have 37g carbs though so we are having them every other weekend as a treat. They do keep you going though.

buntingandstarcharts · 30/08/2020 13:03

3 weeks in and 1 stone, 2 pounds down! This is the best and I feel like I love Michael M!

TantricTwist · 30/08/2020 13:37

Well done and congratulations on your loss @outwest good luck on the maintenance thread, you'll nail it I'm sure

aceofbase1 · 30/08/2020 14:02

I'm loving everyone's losses and especially that we can cheat and have the determination to get straight back to it

That leads me into my weekend Blush I had a 3 course meal and cocktails and then last night pizza and an extravagant desert and a beer Confused this morning the scales are showing a 6lb gain ShockSad I'm straight back to it today and I'm hoping most of it is water retention due to the alcohol/dehydration!

I've had poached eggs spinach and mushrooms and I plan to go for a run later.

Really really hope that 6lb doesn't stick around for long!

Jollyholibobs · 30/08/2020 17:47

@outwest That is fantastic. Congratulations

@buntingandstarcharts thats a great start well done. Loving Michael M too!

@aceofbase1those 6lbs- hope the go as fast as they came!

Loving the sound of those blueberry pancakes- @Cantteach

nibdedibble · 30/08/2020 19:20

Hello! I was on the previous thread but have been busy/trying not to do MN too much so haven’t been checking in. I’ve been doing 16:8, vlc and as few carbs as I can - lost loads in the first 2 weeks and seem to have been losing and gaining the same 3lbs since then. But it’s been 13lbs over 5 weeks, I’m not hungry, and I’m bloody carrying on because I’ve still got 4st to go 😁 hoping to have that off by March or faster if I can.

Almost a stone was 2” off my waist - 6.5” more to go!

Purpleraindeer · 31/08/2020 07:27

Hello - can I join you please? I’m planning to do fast800 for 2 weeks. Day 1 is today.

I’ve read a bit of this thread and am so impressed with all of your weight loss Star and wanted to join in.

I was aiming for 50g carbs. Is that the right amount?

Sara2000 · 31/08/2020 08:53

I am joining too. I was here previously under a different name but failed completely to follow it. Blush I want to stick to it from now until Christmas and see where I am. I need to lose 3 stone.

Patchworksack · 31/08/2020 09:08

Well done outwest and hello to newbies!
It was DH's birthday this weekend and while we stayed low carb he bought the biggest steaks I have ever seen and then we did an online cheese and wine tasting. Back on the wagon today!
We had a go at keto mug bread to have with a burger but it's a bit... eggy. Does anyone have a good low carb bread recipe?

Cantteach · 31/08/2020 09:30

Well done outwest those are the stories I need to hear. Congratulations!

Hello, newbies

We'll have been following plan for 3 weeks tomorrow but I went a way for 2 nights so didn't really stick to it and we had pizza the other night. I'm down 12lb in total (but so fat you can't tell!) and dh is down 15lb. Guess if I'd stuck to it I would have hit the 'lose a stone in 21 days'. We'll definitely carry on. I may find it more difficult soon though as DH only has another 7-14lbs to go, then he'll switch to maintenance.

Patchwork we had burgers in coconut wraps the other night which were good. They don't really taste of coconut but you can smell it as you raise the food to your mouth which is a bit off putting. I'm going to try and make some almond bread today but I'm guessing it's going to work out quite expensive so may not feature regularly!

TantricTwist · 31/08/2020 10:33

I went completely off plan yesterday in every way possible but tried to keep portions and drinks to the bare minimum so hopefully not too much damage. I'll look at it as practise for when I'm maintaining.

Jollyholibobs · 31/08/2020 11:25

Going to visit MIL today. She’s made a cake. This will be a small test.

I’ve made some lovely minestrone To take with us for lunch with her. I used beans from the garden which we have loads of. Left out the pasta. It’s yum.

Scales up a bit this morning but must not get discouraged the overall trend is really positive. I did two OMAD days and they don’t appear to have given any sort of boost.

1questionshootout · 31/08/2020 13:05

Hi Purplereindeer, I have my carbs set to 50g on MFP, but I don't think there's any specific amount quoted on the Fast 800 books and sites.

Well, I thought I'd better do my bit to help Rishi Sunak today on the last "eat out to help out", so we had a bank holiday family trip to Dobbies for breakfast. Having plugged in all my items I think it's still under 500 cals, so not a total wipe out! But plenty of water for the rest of the day, and I will be running 5k later on.

Cantteach · 31/08/2020 13:27

What is OMAD please?

RR369 · 31/08/2020 15:40

Hi, can I join please? Hoping for some accountability and tips. I've gained 18.2lbs since May when I seemed to plummet into perimenopause. I've been on HRT for five weeks now and my mood has really improved so I feel ready to get back to myself (and into my clothes!!). Just got a new smart scales too so extra motivated!!
My plan is OMAD under 800cals for eight days then 16:8 while on holiday for five days in the hope that I won't regain everything I lose 🤞Only black coffee and water so far today, dinner in two hours 😁

RR369 · 31/08/2020 15:41

Hi @Cantteach OMAD is one meal a day

yumyumpoppycat · 31/08/2020 16:28

Hi all and to new starters.

I have been a bit off track due to birthdays and other bits, and I also decided to do my bit with help out eat out today 🙈 fresh start now and I might skip dinner as still full from lunch.

Zazu44 · 31/08/2020 20:48

Please can I join as I am now In the Obese category and could cry. Does anyone know what to set Protein, Carb and Fat to on MFP? Have tried every diet know but desperately want to succeed this time. X

Purpleraindeer · 31/08/2020 21:34

Hi all
I survived my first 800 cal day! It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.Smile. I did feel quite light headed though so I’m wondering how I’ll handle work tomorrow...

Zazu - I’m no expert (given that I’ve only done 1 day) but I think the macros are 60g or more of protein and less than 50g of carbs.

Zazu44 · 31/08/2020 21:35

Thankyou x
