Thanks everyone for your kind words. I feel calmer.

I feel like we're all looking after ourselves by this WOE so that's something. It takes focus so I guess its, dare I even say it, 'mindful' Grin

@Patchworksack that's such good news re your DH

I've had tea, coffee with splashes of milk and a 2 egg omelette with 4 cherry tomatoes and quarter of a red pepper.

I was bang on 800 yesterday well 803 despite eating 3 left over dried out chicken nuggets, which I ate before thinking and tasted of cardboard but it's easy freezer food for the DC Hmm I've done enough home cooking recently.

TantricTwist · 27/08/2020 15:08

Phew so from the time I posted last I was at the tip, managed to do it just before it started raining heavily, and having a clear out so that's a couple of sweaty strenuous hours - I've got a bit of a headache but hopefully my coffee will sort it out.
If not I'll have a portion of parmigiana which is a bit salty so should help with the old electrolytes.
God this rain is pants

Hi everyone. I’m coming to the end of week three and have been on holiday for a week. I would never manage to stick to any kind of diet on holiday but somehow haven’t done too bad, although it’s been hard. I’m not sure I’ve stuck to 800 as haven’t any food scales but have kept it low and low carb. Will weigh myself tomorrow morning, bit scared!

badasscafe1 · 27/08/2020 20:23

Hi All- am starting FAST800 a week from today - with my DH. First time we have ever done any diet together. DH has been dipping in and out of 5:2 for a few months. Any advice on what I can do to make the start easier? have stopped taking sweetener in my tea. Am extremely happy we're doing this, just really hope we both stick to it.

badasscafe1 · 27/08/2020 20:25

sorry- just re-read that- what I mean is anything I can start doing now, to help that initial shock to the system.....
thanks

CurseryKinkajoo · 27/08/2020 20:37

@badasscafe1 I started on Monday with dh and it’s really helpful. He only has 7lb to lose compared to my 4 stone but he’s properly on board (except for his pasty work lunches yesterday and Tuesday Shock).

We’re both feeling it tonight - the Day 4 Dip?! I didn’t sleep very well last night so just feel tired and headachy but determined to push through. Only 2 litres of water so far so about to grab a pint glass and take to my bed with dh and crappy telly Grin

Oysterbabe · 27/08/2020 20:47

I made the lentil wraps and was really impressed. They wrapped really well, usually when I try and make stuff like this they fall apart. Slightly fewer calories and carbs, more than double the protein of a standard wrap so it's a win for me. I'm still only on 30g of carbs for the day.

1questionshootout · 27/08/2020 22:11

Hi badass, how are you at drinking lots of water? And cutting down on snacks. And stopping eating at a certain Time of night.

aceofbase1 · 28/08/2020 08:03

11 days in and I've lost 9lbs!! Grin even with having a day off, I'm over the moon and so happy this actually works!!

Jollyholibobs · 28/08/2020 08:20

Brilliant @aceofbase1 great start. I am 2 weeks in as well and similar loss. It’s fantastic.

Jollyholibobs · 28/08/2020 08:23

Loving the way I can adapt this WOE for the family. Made paneer curry last night at DS request and I was able to have a modest portion too with broccoli instead of rice. Yummy.

Oysterbabe · 28/08/2020 09:01

Well done aceofbase1 that's fantastic.

I've lost 5lbs in my first 2 weeks. It's included 3 days off plan. I'm pleased. I'm not new to fasting so I think I had less of that thing where your body is shocked by a new regime. I'm going to do another 6 weeks and see where we are. I need to lose another 7lbs to get into my healthy weight range. If I can do that I'll be happy.

Cantteach · 28/08/2020 09:14

DH is off work this week and has gone on and on about having a night off. So last night, more to stop him moaning, we has pizza, chips and a bottle of wine. DH woke up middle of the night and was sick, I feel 'unsettled' today and have put on 1.6lb. Sort of glad we did it though as made us both realise how much better we've been feeling with this WOE. Both 100% back on it today. Currently sipping water and lemon but that's all I want. Feel very bloated still from last night.

Jolly I think that's partly why I like this WOE. It's so easy to feed everyone with just a few minor tweaks- or none at all. I'm not having to make crisps from lasagna sheets Grin (for anyone old enough to have done Slimming world 20 years ago).

not usually a water drinker 1question but will try! snacks will be my hardest bit... and sugar.... think TRE between 10-6 will be my plan......anything besides water that helps with headaches?
TantricTwist · 28/08/2020 11:36

Well done everyone on your losses, it feels amazing doesn't it Smile

I got a lovely big fresh cauliflower today and some Pre riced frozen cauliflower as well.

Should I cut the middle of it into thick slices to roast with spices and then rice the rest of it ?
Do any of you have a tried and tested tasty cauliflower recipe you think is definitely worth a try ? Ive looked at a few online just not sure what.

Flibbertyjibbit · 28/08/2020 11:47

Congratulations on all the loses everyone.

I've had a tough week with health stuff but have managed to stay on plan. Week 2 weigh in, I've now lost 10lbs. Even more amazing is I've lost 13cm off my waist! DH is now in the pre-diabetic range for his latest hba1c and can stop one of his diabetes tablets!!!

badasscafe1 · 28/08/2020 12:13

fantastic - that is amazing- and very inspiring!

CurseryKinkajoo · 28/08/2020 13:34

That’s incredible @fibbertyjibbet

outwest · 28/08/2020 19:19

Closing the kitchen at 839 kcals today. Still 400g from goal, having been flat-lining for past 10 days due to cheating here and there. Average weight (i.e. trend) still falling gently.

Hoping a few days of proper deficits will get me to goal.

1questionshootout · 29/08/2020 07:03

Tantric, yes that's what I would do with a nice firm cauliflower - take steaks out of the middle, and use the rest for rice, or cauli mash, or cheese, or soup etc.

Does anyone have a linking fitbit and scales?

DuckPancake · 29/08/2020 08:21

Hi folks, haven't posted for a while. Have been adjusting to 16:8 and educating myself with recipes so I'm better prepared. Have been on annual leave this week so it's been easier to fast. I found Joe Wicks Lean in 15 echoes a lot of the F800 philosophy and found some good recipes! This was one of my meals yesterday: grilled salmon with avocado, Greek yoghurt and lemon dip mixed with spinach and a sprinkle of pine nuts:

Does anyone have a linking fitbit and scales?

Have a set of fitbit Aria scales that links to the cloud over WiFi. Useful. Don't use fitbit watch thing much if at all.

Cantteach · 29/08/2020 15:33

Scales are back to wear they were 3 days ago so the pizza binge hasn't done too much damage. Today was Ultimate Sandwich Day in our house, an annual event where everyone picks what they want to make their perfect sandwich. The children love it! Everyone had amazing sandwiches. I had coconut wrap with cheese, Quorn ham and lettuce followed by another wrap with strawberries, teeny bit of chocolate spread and some cream. Total 342 calories, 23g carbs. I'm pleased, lunch was yummy and I felt like I joined in. Coconut wraps are great. Thank you to whoever posted.

Booklover89 · 29/08/2020 17:24

First weekly weigh in today and I have lost 5lbs after a few fluctuations during the week. Pleased with that - only 4lbs to go until I hit my first ‘goal weight’ marker!

TantricTwist · 29/08/2020 19:21

I baked the most delicious white cabbage and cauliflower with turmeric. So yummy once it's all softened and cooked down. I used a variation of a recipe from a Leon cookbook I have. I did start off adding paprika and cumin but I could barely taste it so added the turmeric which suits it so well.
I did cut the cauliflower into steaks but decided against it and went with something else because I thought they might dry out a bit.
I ate it with 100 gms stir fried pork. That's all I've had so far apart from 100 gms greek yogurt and 60 gms berries and a cup of miso soup. I've got 453 calories remaining which seems a bit too much but I have measured everything and added it to MFP.
