16:8 any success?

I've been doing 16:8 Monday - Friday for 2.5 weeks now . I pretty much eat what I like between 12-8 ( not in excess and mostly healthy).

I didn't weigh myself but do feel clothes fit slightly better and feel
A little less tired.

Does anyone have any success stories at all? Would love to hear!

@HereIGoAgainAndAgain I'm not sure! It's slightly difficult watching my husband eat but I just leave the room or whatever. I think it's bull determination!

Woventabby · 08/01/2019 09:15

Hi. Starting 18:6 today! A stone to lose. Trying not to eat too much during the eating window!

ILiveInSalemsLot · 08/01/2019 10:02

Well day 1 could have been better.
I have high hopes for day 2 Smile

Currently having a coffee. I’ve got lentil soup in the fridge and I’m making a veg curry for dinner.

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 08/01/2019 10:39

I still haven't started I couldn't have my evening meal until later last night so missed the 6pm cut off then this morning I totally forgot and had toast when I woke 😭

Starting tonight and having tea with the kids at 4.30pm

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 08/01/2019 12:21

Hello all, I couldn't do your hours either pizzacrisps! The day would be too long for me. I'm on day five, doing 12-8 again. I'm managing okay. I might be down 2 pounds but I often go up or down 2 pounds so time will tell. I think I need to be careful and not overeat during the window to lose weight.

HereIGoAgainAndAgain · 08/01/2019 16:31

Day 2, I was definitely hungry when I woke up this morning but skipped breakfast and just drunk loads which seemed to work, held off to 12 when I had lunch, I will have tea around 5-5.30 and then off to the gym this evening to hopefully that distraction will stop me thinking about food.

I actually find the eating window harder than the fasting, I really have to work on my self control around food.

How is everyone else getting on?

HereIGoAgainAndAgain · 08/01/2019 16:32

I am also clearly very impatience Grin

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 08/01/2019 18:31

Another fan of 16/8 signing in. I tend to do 12-8 as well. I usually drink about a litre of fruit tea (I have a gigantic stainless steel go cup on my desk Grin) before 12 which keeps any hunger pangs at bay and also helps me get a good amount of water into me during the day. I find early morning exercise good on with fasting but it gets a bit more complicated if I go for a swim or jog at lunchtime as by then I need some food in me for energy, but eating too close to it gives me a stitch. I was unusually hungry this morning so actually ate earlier at 11 so I just finished dinner now. Unlike some of you, I only lose weight with a concerted calorie deficit but I feel better and less binge-y if I'm a bit more structured.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 08/01/2019 19:50

Exactly, MotherForkin, it puts a structure on the day. I'm trying to stop eating out of habit and I think this will help. Normally I eat 5 or 6 times a day or every three hours. Today, 12-7 and it wasn't too hard. I probably shouldn't have had the homemade scone at 4pm though.

Alsonification · 08/01/2019 20:32

Today is day 2 for me. So far so good. Finding it easy enough actually.

HereIGoAgainAndAgain · 09/01/2019 07:36

Well its day 3 and I am starving but I am having my usual black coffee and hope the hunger will pass, I will have lunch at 12 luckily I will be at work and there is no way I can get hold of any food Smile

I only want to weigh once a week but I couldn't resist today and hopped on the scales, I have lost 3lbs since Monday, that was great motivation to keep to this way of eating.

For those who have been doing this a while how long before waking up absolutely starving stops or doesn't it?

Good luck everyone, I love reading all your updates Smile

ILiveInSalemsLot · 09/01/2019 09:54

Yesterday was good and I’m starving this morning.
I’m drinking black coffee and trying to keep busy til 12.

Mary1935 · 09/01/2019 09:57

Hi can you just clarify - is it you only eat two meals a day between the hours of 12 to 8?
Can you snack on fruit?
Have one teaspoon of sugar in my tea!!!!
I need to lose 2 stone.
Thankyou
Good luck to your all.

swampytiggaa · 09/01/2019 10:00

Started this on Monday 🙂 I only want to lose about 7lb so hopefully this will help 🙂

ILiveInSalemsLot · 09/01/2019 10:12

Mary1935 I have two meals and snacks between 12 and 8 (though I prefer to stop at 7)
I try not to eat anything processed and eat a lot of veg.

Mary1935 · 09/01/2019 10:27

Thanks ILive!!!
Has it been successful for you.
I’m a bit under the weather so I won’t start now.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 09/01/2019 10:50

I’ve only just started but I’ve done it before and this is the only thing that works for me.
If I eat breakfast, I ‘wake up’ my appetite and end up eating all day. When I skip breakfast, I seem to have more control over my diet.
I should actually eat like this permanently. This is my intention now.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 09/01/2019 11:20

Day 6. I've just had a coffee and scone at 11am. I had a Rooibus tea earlier at 7am. I woke up at 5.30am so it feels like a long morning but I managed it. I went for a walk and did the grocery shopping. I knew I should have stayed off the scales; I am up 3 pounds. I'm going to ignore the scales for a couple of weeks so I don't get discouraged. I am going to have to think about what to eat later on. Some sort of stir fry at 6pm for dinner. Good luck everyone. Hope it works out and it's worth it!

HereIGoAgainAndAgain · 09/01/2019 16:38

IsFuzzy did you weigh first thing in the morning before having anything? They do say you naturally go up and down a few pounds, so its best to look at the general trend. I also took my measurements when I started, as you can lose inches when it may not be showing on the scales, good luck!

Mary I also just have 2 meals a day but I am trying not to snack, in my fasting window I only drink water and black coffee.

Today has been the hardest so far, mainly as I have been really hungry with a mild headache, holding out for tea at 5-5.30 and then nothing till 12 tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!

12fromcold · 09/01/2019 16:40

Going well this week so far

16:8 any success?
IsFuzzyBeagMise · 09/01/2019 17:52

Hi HereIGo yes, I did weigh myself first thing in the morning. No worries. I'll just weigh myself now and again. I'll focus on the health benefits of fasting for now. Soup at 2pm with a slice of toast and cheese. Tea at 4pm. Nearly ready for dinner at 6.15. It sounds like you are doing well, HereIGo. It does take some resolve to keep to the plan. I'm still feeling positive about it.

That looks great 12fromcold, well done.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 09/01/2019 21:08

I’m so hungry but I’m not going to eat. I’m just going to have a herbal tea.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 09/01/2019 21:44

Hi ILive, yes, that will help. I had a hunger pang while ago; it seems to have passed. I'll try to get to sleep by 11pm. Hang in there!

12fromcold · 10/01/2019 07:51

Weighed in today and I've lost 2.5lbs!
