16:8 any success?

I've been doing 16:8 Monday - Friday for 2.5 weeks now . I pretty much eat what I like between 12-8 ( not in excess and mostly healthy).

I didn't weigh myself but do feel clothes fit slightly better and feel
A little less tired.

Does anyone have any success stories at all? Would love to hear!

Good luck to everyone

I have Zero - very good although I would like to be able to set my goal. I think it defaults to 16 hours and that's it. I love watching the time rack up!

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 05/01/2019 10:46

I'm on Day 2. Going well so far. Yesterday, I did 12.30 to 8pm. Two meals with a coffee in between. I'm planning to eat from 12pm today. Had a cup of tea and a cup of water so far.

iveneversaidanything · 05/01/2019 11:14

I actually love going to bed slightly hungry. Makes me feel so light and, dare I say it, virtuous! Also makes me look forward to weighing in in the morning (I know I should weigh everyday but it's a 10 year habit, awful).

iddybiddymum · 05/01/2019 22:13

This is brilliant. I came off 16:8 in December and oh my goodness what a difference I feel.
I did 16:8 during the week - not at at the weekends and I honestly felt the weight dropping off me! I felt alive.
First week is tough if you are used to breakfast but it feels like such an achievement !
I'm back on it Monday! Well done everyone who is starting out - I really think it works and lots of positive comments on the post - thank you everyone !!! Smile

I keep coming back to this thread as I genuinely found this plan dead easy but didn't lose a bit in three weeks! I did it every day and kept my cals in that 8 hours to around 1500 or less. 5:2 I lose at least a pound a week usually so I have no idea what happened Sad

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 06/01/2019 21:38

I know, puppymouse. I did 5:2 before and did lose a few pounds on it over a few weeks but I found the fasting days hard, very long. I'm going to give the 16:8 a go and see. I think it makes sense from a health point of view and I hope that eating two healthy meals and one small snack will lead to weight loss, but will see...

HereIGoAgainAndAgain · 06/01/2019 22:20

I've decided to give this a go, I really like the science behind fasting and have previously tried 5:2 but suffered with really bad migraines so stopped. I think this will be a gentler way so hopefully no side effects!!! I am intending to have two meals a day and cut out snacks, my window will be 12 - 8 pm.

I will officially start tomorrow, so will do the dreaded weigh in and report back!

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 06/01/2019 22:28

Good luck, HereIGo! I finished eating at 7.30pm earlier so I'm thinking of 12pm too. Tea and water up to 12pm.

starzig · 06/01/2019 22:35

16:8 is my BAD habit. Gonna try eat more regular as my weight is out of control.

theSnuffster · 06/01/2019 22:44

I did this for a while before Christmas without really meaning to. I'd previously been forcing myself to have breakfast before work even though I was never hungry and really struggled to eat. I just decided I wouldn't bother forcing myself anymore- my lunch break at work tends to be around 12 and I rarely feel hungry before 11 so it works well. I certainly didn't follow it religiously, some days I'd eat later than 8pm, sometimes at weekends i'd eat earlier in the day AND late at night. And I ate whatever I wanted too, no calorie counting or anything. I still lost about 6lb! So now Christmas is over I plan on sticking to it properly, and being a bit more careful about what I actually eat. Fingers crossed!

Alsonification · 07/01/2019 07:50

I’m starting this today. Starting weight 229.2lbs. I’m 5ft 5 so need to lose at least 5stone. I’m 43 & feel 70 so that has to stop. Going to try for a 11am to 7pm window as that suits me work wise. I’m currently drinking black tea waiting for my mindees to areive. I’d normally be having my weetabix by now so I’m hoping the morning rush, school runs etc will distract me til 11. Good luck everyone.

HereIGoAgainAndAgain · 07/01/2019 07:56

Well I hopped on the scales this morning and I am 12st 12, so that gives me a BMI of 29.9 I need to get down to 25 for a healthy BMI, so I need to lose 2 stones 2 lbs as a minimum.

No breakfast today just coffee and water till lunch. thesnuffster that does sound encouraging, do yo have a lot you want to lose?

Isfuzzy thanks for the welcome hopefully we can all support one another on our new way of eating!!

HereIGoAgainAndAgain · 07/01/2019 07:58

Alsonification missed your post, I am clearly a slow typer!! Good luck, sounds like you are going to be very active running around after your small charges!

theSnuffster · 07/01/2019 08:14

@HereIGoAgainAndAgain I don't really have a target. Scales say 12st 8lb today so I've put 2lb on over Christmas. I think I might aim for 12st to begin with and see how things go. According to the NHS website I should be between 7 and 10st but I'm not taking too much notice of that to be honest. I weighed 7st when I was very unwell 10 years ago and it was not a healthy weight for me at all.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 07/01/2019 08:25

I’m starting this again today. It was brilliant when I did it before and as well as losing weight, my house was tidier and I got exercise in as I had to do something to pass the fasting time.
I eat only between 12-7 as that works best for me.

Alsonification · 07/01/2019 08:50

@HereIGoAgainAndAgain Thanks a mil. Hanging on for 11am Grin

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 07/01/2019 10:01

Hello all! I've had a tea earlier, coffee now and aiming for brunch at maybe 12pm or 12.30. Feeling okay and trying to stay busy. I'm really hoping to stick to this (and lose a few pounds).

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 07/01/2019 10:55

I'm going to start this tomorrow, I do her light headed and head aches when I'm hungry so I'll try and do the 10-6 one then by the time I've done school run and got home it's nearly time to eat! I've A LOT of weight to lose so hoping this will work well for me like it has for a lot of you

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 07/01/2019 11:00

God I meant to type 'I do get lightheaded and get headaches' 🙄

pizzacrisps · 07/01/2019 12:47

I'm making the switch to 18:6 and my eating window is around 7am to 1pm

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 07/01/2019 13:28

Hi WakeUp and pizzacrisps! Good luck with the 16:8. I had brunch while ago at 12pm. Trying to eat lightly in the remaining 'window'.

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 07/01/2019 14:41

Wow @pizzacrisps that's brave I don't know if I could not eat from 1pm onwards! Good luck Thanks

pizzacrisps · 07/01/2019 16:16

Current week

16:8 any success?
HereIGoAgainAndAgain · 07/01/2019 17:50

thesnuffster to only put on 2lbs over Xmas is very impressive, I reckon over the two weeks I put on about 6lbs, hopefully it will go just as quick Smile

pizzacrisps how do you manage not to eat anything from 1pm, I think I'd be in bed by 5 pm.

So far today has been fine no breakfast sandwich and apple for lunch and stirfry for tea, although I did have a small piece of xmas cake. Just have to get through the evening and day 1 is over.
