Another thread to keep going!

T25 speed 2.0 done. So challenging to my inadequate co-ordination that at least it goes by fast (in a blur of falling over my own feet). That’s week 2 done.

OublietteBravo · 08/08/2024 11:56

I’m determined to get back to exercising more frequently. So today was my second 5k of the week: 28min 52sec.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 09/08/2024 12:51

Yoga class done - my Pilates teacher is very unreasonably on holiday. Just been to the osteopath for the dodgy hip.

spikeandbuffy24 · 10/08/2024 14:35

20 min pop spin
5 min spin cool down

roonetta · 10/08/2024 16:27

Nice work everyone! Hope your hip doesn't give you too much jip Professor 💖

2 mile WWL ☑️

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 10/08/2024 18:30

Thanks, roonetta - it’s just a niggle that I’m trying to keep from getting worse.

T25 stretch and another yoga class. On to week 3 of T25 tomorrow. I have rashly bought the Gamma DVDs as they were on Ebay for £8, so I’ll be on T25 well into the autumn. Suffering.

83

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 11/08/2024 09:00

T25 core cardio done. Not a good day (though I don’t really have good days, only less bad ones).

84

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 12/08/2024 07:18

T25 upper focus done, with slightly heavier weights this time. I regretted it as it’s very muggy here at the moment. Still, ploughing grimly on as I’m about to have a couple of weeks where I don’t do more than some walking and yoga, so I want to get week 3 done before I go. The cat decided to mix in today so I have fur all over my mat (she’s feeling the heat too).

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 13/08/2024 07:52

T25 speed 2.0 done. There’s a bonus DVD in the set called Core Speed; I don’t know if I even dare try that one or if it’ll just end with me in a heap on the floor.

roonetta · 13/08/2024 08:54

Amazing Professor! I might know the answer, but is it getting any easier? I think I would have died and would definitely struggle with the coordination parts 🥵

20 minute dumbbell workout from the Walk at Home app, and a 2 mile WWL after ✅

OublietteBravo · 13/08/2024 11:28

I decided it was too hot to run yesterday. But I went today and ran the loop in the harder direction: 29min 16sec.

You've all been very busy while I was away! I manged 4 short runs during the week and back to the grind with a horrible and horribly hot s&c class today.

OP posts:
ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 14/08/2024 08:31

It’s not noticeably getting easier, roonetta! I think I must be getting fitter, because I did actually think I might die the first time I did the Alpha cardio and it’s not as bad as that now, but it always feels really hard.

T25 ripped circuit done. One more to go this week.

roonetta · 14/08/2024 15:37

Well done Oubliette and welcome back Motherforkin, hope you had a good break.

It's great that you are noticing progress Professor, and a great motivator too.

5 mile WWL done ✅. It's rare that both time and motivation align, but today it did. Realising that 1/2 a packet of bourbon biscuits added up to almost 500 calories may have helped with the motivation 😏

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 15/08/2024 09:21

Yes, well done Oubliette! I can't run at all - my knees don't like it, although they don't otherwise give me trouble - so I'm always impressed by people who can. And good going on the motivation roonetta. I am sadly consuming more than enough Magnums to easily balance out my exercise routine.

T25 dynamic core done. I think this is the hardest of the Beta set - there are a couple of exercises that I just can't do for more than a few seconds. But that's week 3 finished and I am now ON HOLIDAY and having a couple of weeks off Shaun T. I've optimistically stuck my yoga mat in the suitcase so might do something gentle, but that's all.

Have a fab time Professor!

Happy holidays Professor. Food calorie "costs" are often my only motivation Roonetta!

Unplanned rest day yesterday, but I made up for it today...dog walk, walk and talk catch up with a colleague, s&c class, walk to have a sea dip with a friend bottle of wine and walk home. 23k steps and a ridiculous number of crunches done.

Happy holidays @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson!

I went and ran 5k with DH. I haven’t done this since I foolishly went with him just after my maternity leave with DS almost 18 years ago. That time almost killed me. Today was fine. A little bit slow (30min 29sec) - he’s recovering from a hamstring injury.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 16/08/2024 15:56

That's a great pace with a injury Mr Oubliette.

1000m swim at lunch. Shoulder didn't niggle which was a nice change.

S&c this morning.

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 18/08/2024 10:38

DH and I went running this morning. I was determined not to get left behind. He had similar thoughts. The result is we were over 2 mins faster than our last 5k run
(28min 19sec) and we’re both knackered!

OublietteBravo · 19/08/2024 12:39

I ran another 5k today - that’s 2 consecutive days and 4 in the past week. Some observations:
(1) The 5km loop at work is much harder. There are serious hills, and the surface is uneven. Plus the ongoing harvest means it’s very dusty.
(2) My legs are tired!
Anyway, I was a bit slow (29min 24sec), but I went out there and did it.

OublietteBravo · 21/08/2024 15:11

I ran the 5k loop in the harder direction: 29min 35sec. It’s very windy out there today!

S&c yesterday. Flooding washing machine and back to school prep meant I missed getting anything done today.
