Monday - pilates class, Tuesday 6.5 mile and 2 mile dog walks. BezMills - if you can motivate a teenage girl, you can motivate anyone 😁

Oops misread who posted! Blush Nice work Imfree!!! 😂

Imfreetofeelgood · 20/03/2024 20:22

3.5 mile dog walk and 1 hr pilates class today. The dark sky and rain, affected my motivation a bit.

I'm with you on the influence of the weather Imfree. Mind you, I'm taking any excuse at the moment 😬

Mega stress work day so I only had time for a short run but it burned off some of the cortisol which I needed.

Fabulous update on your class @BezMills 👏🏽 Made up for you. You must be so happy

Everyone's doing really well, lots of mojo in here.

Did a full body strength session yesterday then Pilates last night.
I'm not at my usual activity levels, which gets me down. I'm also out on a work thing straight from work today so no workouts today 😞
Hope everyone has a good day

Wow florence don't be despondent, you do loads! It is frustrating when you can't do as much as you want but you are laps in front of most people Star

2 mile WWL done ✅

Thanks guys! Another week of not getting much done for me. I had to bail on Pilates on Wednesday due to stupid work meetings.
Last night's BodyCombat wasn't cancelled due to lovely Anna Sensei being sick, they put on a video class instead.
For some reason I'm not interested in turning up and exercising to a video, in a class that I used to teach! Some of the older ladies have said they'd like it if I came to the video classes so that there would be an instructor there to keep an eye on them. Yeah well, I'm not an instructor any more am I, they need to talk to the gym about that lol. I guess I'm still a tiny bit salty about that whole thing...

30 min sing a long ride

Imfreetofeelgood · 22/03/2024 19:07

Lazy day yesterday - though I did attend my gym induction, and did some rowing and cycling afterwards, seeing as I was there. Today - 50 x25m swim. I'm getting a bit faster. I feel great after swimming - I've whizzed through my housework 😊

BezMills · 22/03/2024 19:58

Yes @Imfreetofeelgood great work

@NC03 nice one

Sounds like a good start to the gym, imfree.

I've managed to walk 22k steps today so I'm counting it.

OP posts:
Imfreetofeelgood · 23/03/2024 07:24

MotherForkinShirtBalls - yes I'd absolutely be counting 22k steps! I was chuffed when I hit 20k the other day - but that was deliberate dog walking as exercise - I'd never get it day to day. Can someone explain what WWL means please?

florenceandthemac · 23/03/2024 07:47

That sounds frustrating @BezMills about the body combat class 😒
Great work this week everyone.
22k steps is a great day!

I cancelled my Friday strength class as I was out late with work, plus also I had awful DOMS in my quads from Tuesday. Walking was a struggle...
Had a physio session yesterday, she thinks I have piriformis syndrome, causing some of the issues I was actually putting down to my psoriatic arthritis. She's invited me to try clinical Pilates this morning, so she can see how I move unilaterally, so I'm off to that now

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 23/03/2024 12:02

The steps were as a result of dog being back on all 4 feet and I had a late meeting yesterday so since I hadn't had time to stop a lunch I walked there and home. I needed the fresh air!

Clinical pilates sounds like a great idea Florence. I used to do a class with a physio when my hip problem was bad and it was really helpful.

S&c this morning. I've realised that while the kickboxing class is amazing cardio I don't actually really like it so I'm not going it make myself do it any more.

Fair play @MotherForkinShirtBalls life's too short to do fitness stuff that is no fun

NC03 · 24/03/2024 13:06

I ran my usual 5km loop. It was cold and wet and windy. And I don’t know my time because I didn’t manage to stop my watch at the end. Pretty sure it was under 30 mins though - as I was already sitting in the changing room when I spotted that the timer was still going at 30 min 23 sec.

Early s&c class this morning.

Imfreetofeelgood · 27/03/2024 21:33

Monday - bugger all

Tuesday - 4.5 mile dog walk
Wednesday - Legs, Bums and Tums class (death by a 1000 squats and lunges) and pilates class.

BezMills · 28/03/2024 08:04

@Imfreetofeelgood I loved the LBT class, there isn't one anywhere locally at the moment. I did Pilates yesterday which definitely hits some spots. You feel muscles you didn't realise you had. Yesterday it was weird bits in my quads and my hip flexors that got killed. As well as the old front abs (was shaking like anything in some of the ab poses towards the end).

florenceandthemac · 28/03/2024 09:54

@OublietteBravo You sound like you are making decent progress with that 5k

How are you feeling after all those squats @Imfreetofeelgood ??

That's what I enjoy about pilates @BezMills You're working those little muscles that you miss when doing the 'big stuff'.
And it's a good job I like it because it's all I can seem to do at the minute 😑

Went to pilates class on Tuesday then ran with the local run club last night.
That was interesting, as I had some injections into my glute at physio yesterday, so every stride hurt my left bum cheek...

I've been really down about my lack of exercise lately.
I'm also scared I'm using my condition as an excuse at the minute, I can't decide whether I'm actually listening to my body, or I'm telling myself I'm listening to by body but actually being lazy, and then worrying I'm going to get stuck in a lazy rut or lose my fitness levels.
I always have a workout plan set out for the month ahead, it obviously gets tweaked but I more or less stick to it. But for the last two weeks I haven't, and it's disheartening. So last night, after my run, I decided to 'tone it down'. I've gone through my April plan and tried to make it more realistic for my current levels, rather than planning to get back to my previous workout level and feeling like shit when I don't manage it

BezMills · 28/03/2024 10:06

ah I know that fitness anxiety @florenceandthemac

You won't lose much fitness from having a break, and if you do lose a couple %, it's not that big of a deal. This is what I tell myself.

I find myself that it's the psychology that is worse. I feel disconnected from the gym, my class buddies, and keeping fit, and I'm not making as good choices with food and drink etc. Plus this relentless buggering rain is annoying me, a lot!

Slumps gonna slump, but you'll be back. We'll be back! Bon courage mate.
