Any progress is good progress, Shady. Hope the new gym works out Bez (pun intended 😉)

Gym class this morning. We've had changes to evening goings on in the house meaning i can't get to my usual classes with the instructors I like. I'm going to the annoying morning guy this week. Hopefully I'll be able to work out better options from next week.

Enjoy the new gym Bez!

I think the looks like a lot of professs Shady. Well done! Star

Hope gym guy isn't too annoying today Motherforkin. Sod's Law that you can't make it to your favourite instructors.

Nat Hayward strength workout done ✔️

121/150 (prompted me to change my target Bez as I'm never going to reach 200!)

roonetta · 25/10/2023 08:18

Sigh...it must be too early for me! I meant to say "I think that looks like a lot of progress". 🙄

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 25/10/2023 20:23

School run run today. I'm not sure if it's the sprints I did or yesterday's weights but I'm achey all over this evening.

Gym class this morning. Annoying instructor was less annoying than usual! (But I'm still changing my days up next week 😂)

Gym yesterday, bit on the bench and lots of one leg stuff for Core and stability.

BezMills · 27/10/2023 10:24

Just out of McBodyCombat (short break in Scotland to visit the outlaws )

Did a bit of resistance and balance work first, since I had time to kill.

141!

BezMills · 28/10/2023 11:32

Just did BodyCombat again. One of the big honch instructors, it turns out. The class was led by an instructor doing her training - this was her filming the class for assessment to qualify. It was a real privilege to be there!

I'm ready to get over my humpty with the old gym and go back to doing BC with my instructor. I'm going to keep training at the other gym and just PAYG for Combat.

142!

Heavy lifting class today. Upped my deadlift a bit again which was good.

I'll be more impressed when I'm back to nearer my pb (of 8 years ago!)

I've never done it before so I've a winter of PBs ahead!

OublietteBravo · 28/10/2023 18:43

Hello 👋

I’m currently on holiday, so I haven’t been running. But I’ve been swimming in the sea every day for the past 4 days.

PawsisShady · 29/10/2023 16:03

45 min spin
5 min stretch

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 30/10/2023 20:01

I'm jealous of your holiday and sea swimming, Oubliette. Hope you're having fun.

Gym class this evening. I don't know why I do it to myself on a bank holiday. I thought I'd got a bit heavier on my squat, then realised I was actually 2.5kg off my most recent heaviest which was annoying. I tried out my new leggings though and really like them. Waiting for new trainers following a bout of insomniac shopping last week.

Your consistency is an inspiration @MotherForkinShirtBalls

I've had a couple of serious hiccups this year, and the weather hasn't been kind to my swimming. I'm grateful for the thread and the threadsters for helping keep me going.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 31/10/2023 16:25

You're very kind, Bez, I find keeping going a massive slog. The classes really help with motivation though. And if I lost the 10kg I really need to it would make everything so much easier... 🙄

Run this morning. It's mid term break so I have to make myself run rather than getting it in on the school run. It's a lot easier to push myself when I'm late leaving the house and have to be at the school on time 😎

I have so much weight to lose. My BMI is about 35 or something
Just concentrating on exercise and trying to get fitter as I figure it's better than nothing and I'm not fit by any stretch of the imagination!

BezMills · 31/10/2023 17:48

Getting fitter is a great start. As my trousers will attest, you can't outrun your diet, but working on fitness is a great idea regardless, and benefits in many ways.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 31/10/2023 18:25

Tbh, I'll still be overweight when if I lose the 10kg, but getting to my ideal weight simply isn't feasible at this point in my life- I'd have to be exercising twice a day 6 days a week and eating less than 1300 cals a day to boot. I've decided that enjoying life while being fitter will have to do. And the weight training has helped with toning so while the scales isn't great, my clothes are fitting better and i feel better overall.

Speaking of.. 20 min full body weights done. My knee is twinging so day off the bike

Any idea why I struggle so much with lunges and split squats?! I couldn't do them even before my spinal surgery. Maybe it's because I'm tall ConfusedGrin

First time in a week I have done anything. FIL is in hospital so we have been in and out of the hospital. He needs a heart bypass so he won't be coming out any time soon. Managed to fit in a Nat Hayward strength workout today.

I agree Motherforkin. Even when I was exercising 5x a week and eating well, I stayed roughly the same weight. Gone are the days of my youth when I could just stop eating biscuits for a week and drop a stone. Health is more important to me now than whether I can fit into a size 10. It also means I have been more consistent as I am not constantly worrying about how much weight I have lost (or not) and then getting deflated. If I am able to remain active in later life then I'll be happy with that.

Hi Oubliette 👋. Also jealous of your sea swims.

122/200

BezMills · 01/11/2023 14:28

Yes definitely @roonetta

My focus in 2021 "train like I'm 25 and expect to be 25 again" - result : fit but frequently injured.

My focus in 2023++ "do mainly what is fun and aim to be fit ish and avoid injuries for as long as possible into the future"
