Hi everyone,
it's been a while since we've had a thread for Parkrunners to share how their run went. So if you ran today , which event were you at, how did you go and if you have the 5K app, did you get any new achievements?

I'm in Australia, so we are at the start of our summer and it was a sunny morning in the low 20s so great for a run. I was at Mosman (Sydney) with my son, it's a 3 lap, out and back course with a short steep hill at the turnaround , that seems longer and steeper each lap.
I came about half-way and the only 5K app achievement I got was for Date Bingo.

Hope everyone else had a good day too

Well done runners! I had a course PB yesterday (only my second time at that parkrun). I was surprised, as it was very congested at the start and I was stuck at the back behind walkers for the first half mile.

I also had my fastest time of the year at this week's parkrun. I’ve been struggling generally with my running for a while and have decided to start having some coaching. So far so good 😊

Really nice RD session this morning. I haven’t done it for ages for various reasons so was a bit nervous but we had lots of volunteers, no one was grumpy and there were no incidents. Some very happy finishers with PBs. Makes it all feel worthwhile 🙂

parkrun sandwich 🥪 for me this morning,as part of the long run for marathon training.

I think it helped me maintain marathon pace, while taking it easier than my normal parkrun pace.

Well that was a bit of an adventure - flight cancelled last night so scrambled last night to find something in the area

Just hope my 250th next week is much less stressful!

SouthCountryGirl · 21/04/2025 09:38

How are we all getting on?

As per my post above my 250th was at the end of March and was much less stressful

Congratulations on 250!

Had arthritis flare up so didn't run for 3 weeks, then a chest and throat infection so that was another month. A couple of warm ups in the week and Parkrun on Saturday just trying to get round. I paced myself well and felt pretty good afterwards and the next day. The annoying time of 40 minutes exactly.

Mysterian · 21/04/2025 10:52

I'll be looking to improve my finishing position this summer. I finished 549th yesterday in my local. In May I'll be camping in Scotland and have seen a Parkrun that only had 59 runners last time. I reckon I could get 54th. Just need to get to Orkney.

SouthCountryGirl · 21/04/2025 10:56

One of my highest finishing positions was as tail walker!

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 21/04/2025 11:00

Missed a few weeks for holiday, marshalled last week. Planning to walk with DD next week for the parkwalk weekend. It’s not helping my running fitness!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/04/2025 18:59

Congratulations @SouthCountryGirl. 250 is a big commitment!

Hope you feel better soon @Mysterian.

I've been doing a mixture of home and tourist parkruns, including my first abroad one. Touristing again this weekend.

Didn't feel very fast today, but was actually only three seconds off my course PB.

The 5k app stats cheered me up after just missing that though — it was all round numbers for me. Ticked off 00 for both stopwatch and position bingo, and a multiple of 50 for gender position!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 14/06/2025 20:19

Well done @PolkadotsAndMoonbeams! Just date bingo for me today.

SouthCountryGirl · 14/06/2025 21:06

Date bingo and a new location for me
