Parkrunners Assemble - reviving the thread that will remind you "do not forget you barcode"

Hi everyone,
it's been a while since we've had a thread for Parkrunners to share how their run went. So if you ran today , which event were you at, how did you go and if you have the 5K app, did you get any new achievements?

I'm in Australia, so we are at the start of our summer and it was a sunny morning in the low 20s so great for a run. I was at Mosman (Sydney) with my son, it's a 3 lap, out and back course with a short steep hill at the turnaround , that seems longer and steeper each lap.
I came about half-way and the only 5K app achievement I got was for Date Bingo.

I'm on holiday in the UK from Australia and we are in London for the Bushy Parkrun, but I've just found out it's cancelled due to the weather.
Fully understand why, but I've no idea if I will ever have the chance to do it again

Oh no @miked99! I know it's not the same, but are there any other London runs within striking distance of where you are?

Lots of cancellations around here tool although my nearest is planning to go ahead - if they confirm in the morning I can nip up there on my bike.

Oh no @miked99 - that’s so unlucky - it’s literally the 4th time in it history that it has cancelled (Covid aside) I guess you will not still be here on Saturday 😢. Hope you find one you can do and have an amazing morning.

I am listening to the wind and rain and wondering if there will be any parkruns round here tomorrow.

Unfortunately we fly out on a Thursday so this was our only chance for Bushy, went to a couple of others in UK while we were here and managed 40 for the year so all good and frankly I can't complain as it's been a great year and holiday.
If anyone does get a run in tomorrow, have a good one and Happy New Year to everyone

I didn't realise Bushy had only cancelled 4 times in its history - two of those occasions being today and 7th December!

Fortunately my two local parkruns went ahead as usual.

I kicked off the New Year with the nearest event that was running today

I walked it with a friend who is rehabbing an injury, so was tickled to see on the 5k app that it included as an achievement that it was my fastest time this year

Course PB on the only one open around here. They had an attendance record today. Lots of people there we knew. Great way to start the year.

Despite my good intentions I overslept and missed parkrun this morning.

Tourist parkrun in Italy for us today.... beautiful little town, Lucca, where the parkrun is a one lap and a little bit around the historic walls on an elevated path.

Fabulous event - highly recommend it!

Tourism for me too, but in the UK and one I’ve done before on previous holidays. Thick frost, clear skies and glorious sunshine all made for a lovely albeit slow run.

A muddy one for me today. A bit of a challenge but fun with friends and family and one more step towards my Cow.

There was quite a lack of parkruns still on near here but luckily my nearest one was one of them!

A new one for me again today - flat and pretty course, went with friends - a lovely morning. Did some token sorting so one more towards my volunteer tourist challenge. I see on the app that I haven’t volunteered somewhere new since 2021. Think I should spread my volunteering wings a little further this year.

I'm coming back from illness. A nasty fever/cough/chest thing. 2 weeks of no running to find I had to stop after 7 minutes during my first weekday run since. Got that up to 15 minutes and did the Parkrun today. My aim was to run solidly for half the distance and see what happened. I managed it ok, then ran/walked the rest. Just happy to finish.

An average parkrun for me today. I must get some new trail trainers this week before my current ones lose their grip.

Did anyone else see that The King met the 5k Your Way group at Sandringham parkrun this morning? Looks like a lovely parkrun route too.

Local tourism for me tomorrow.

Back in Sydney for me, just my 2nd Parkrun of the year with 480 others at Curl Curl. I came somewhere in the middle of the pack which I was pleased with and only got Date Bingo

Nice weather for my home parkrun this morning. It was the event’s birthday so lots of celebration and all the friendly faces.

The less said about this morning's run the better

(Fell about a mile in and hobbled the rest of the way covered in mud)

Itchen for me today. Very friendly and great parking. Easy to find and nice to do a one lapper.

Ormeau for me I'm in Belfast for the weekend - a busy one but reasonably flat and all on tarmac. Quite pleased with my time.

Well it seems I didn't warm up well enough! My thighs are incredibly sore.

And first run after an injury break. I did ok but got the really annoying time of 40 minutes and 1 second.

Fastest time this year for me on Saturday and a flat three lapper. Back to my home run for some run directing next week.
