Parkrunners Assemble - reviving the thread that will remind you "do not forget you barcode"

Hi everyone,
it's been a while since we've had a thread for Parkrunners to share how their run went. So if you ran today , which event were you at, how did you go and if you have the 5K app, did you get any new achievements?

I'm in Australia, so we are at the start of our summer and it was a sunny morning in the low 20s so great for a run. I was at Mosman (Sydney) with my son, it's a 3 lap, out and back course with a short steep hill at the turnaround , that seems longer and steeper each lap.
I came about half-way and the only 5K app achievement I got was for Date Bingo.

Woohoo - I hit 50 attendances this year for parkrun obsessive on the 5k app this morning. I’ve not done that before. Slower this week due to a cold coming on. Hope it goes away before Christmas.

Well done @SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun you are really smashing it! I thought I was doing well on 39 - I have a good reason for most of the weeks I've missed e.g. other events, volunteering. Hoping to get to my local on Christmas Day.

The 5k app counts volunteering days as attendance if you set it up that way which is how I have got to 50. I plan to do Christmas Day too but not 100% sure. Depends on what the rest of the family want as well.

Ah yes I had forgotten that I had altered my settings so that I could re-do my double-ton with only runs. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm so excited for Christmas Day parkrun as I'll finally hit 500. I don't think my (non-running) family have any concept of how excited I am!

Ah fabulous, well done. A friend of mine did his 500th on Saturday, they are always a lovely milestone.

I got to 50 different parkrun venues last weekend. This time last year I'd done 48 so I've made heavy weather of getting to 50!

Now on 99 volunteers as well, so will get a new milestone very soon.

Last year I did 54 parkruns, I didn't miss a single one. I know I've missed two this year (one for another race and one for the wind on 7th December) but I can't remember why I missed the third one.

I had to miss one because of an unexploded bomb! The council cancelled all activities near the parkrun because they needed to use the leisure centre as emergency shelter for people. It was thankfully sorted by Friday. But you can't uncancel a parkrun.

you’re inspiring me to do it again tomorrow, last time I did Christmas Day was 2 years ago.

Merry Christmas everyone - it was so lovely to see everyone out this morning all at the one parkrun that was on around here.

And a parkrun PB for me!

We had a huge turn out today - lots of people in fancy dress including an inflatable turkey, a family of Christmas puddings and several elves, all of whom beat me!

I was at parkrun this morning - went yo the second nearest that was on and both it and my nearest had attendance records 😃

Last parkrun of the year for me at home yesterday. After a record attendance on Christmas Day where we ran out of tokens we were back to high but more manageable numbers.

Now to decide where to run on NYD!

Did my 50th parkrun of the year yesterday while staying with family. My running has been a bit hit and miss in the past few months but have got back to running a full 5k again so now time to work on being a little faster

Am planning to do more volunteering next year as well as hopefully complete the Yorkshire and the Humber region.

I had to drop my son's girlfriend off at a railway station a distance away from us yesterday as there are engineering works on our line, so we ended up doing the parkrun there. Not new for me, but new for DH, so a tourist win for him.

Back to my original home parkrun for NYD as my local parkrun isn't on.

Before you all head out tomorrow check that your parkrun is going ahead. All my local ones have cancelled because of the weather

Ok PR newbie question (don't shout at me 😁)

I'm a.seasoned runner but have never done parkrun. I signed up ages ago as my run club has a nice social coffee etc after the PR and I thought I'd enjoy that... question is do you still need to have a printed copy of your barcode or can you show it on your phone now? Thanks

You can show it in your phone now. I think they did want to still encourage the print out with the ICE details etc but any format is fine

You can your phone and your Garmin as well as paper barcodes
