@roonetta

Hi *@Newkitty* - the usual progression is Ripped in 30 which follows the same format as 30DS but there are four levels and is a bit harder. I have added a list of her workouts ranging from beginner to advanced if that helps.

I agree RI30 is the natural progression from Shred. Not entirely convinced by that list, though: Lift & Shred seemed to me much easier than Ripped, but it's classified as Advanced to Ripped's Beginner.

Oh, and rock star jumps are the pits. I don't do them properly, my knees don't like the slam back onto the floor so I do the Anita version.

@roonetta thanks so much! I might have to invest in the app in that case ...might have a rest day tomorrow and then start afresh on the weekend. It’s so great to see there are loads more workouts to try!
@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson I hope I can have as much experience as you and others in this thread one day!

Just discovered that you can buy or rent the DVDs on Amazon Prime. There is also a Fit Fusion channel. Smile

It doesn't convert the dollars to pounds on the app. Does it for you ? Should be cheaper. TIA

RI30 L2D3 done. This is possibly my least favourite of all her workouts, the plank cardio circuit is agony. I’ve never made it through without a break. DD whinged mightily about it and undoubtedly phoned some of it in, but I turned a blind eye.

These are the prices in £s that I see on the App Store, not sure if that is similar to her website or not?

Grin at turning a blind eye Professor. I think I preferred L2 to L3 though. L3 contains duck and bear walks if my memory serves me correctly. I know what you mean about the list I posted too. 30DS and Ri30 are most certainly not easy!

Mine shows in $ too sobercurious. I wonder if it gets converted to £ once you checkout?

BS WO8 done. Nowhere near as difficult as WO7 although it was challenging. I have come to the conclusion that I prefer the 'pull' days rather than the 'push' days.

Ah ok I was looking at her website. Will see if cheaper on app. Thanks!

That's cheaper than what mine is saying and it converts it to £33.99. Are you on Android?

I did one of Jillian’s longer workouts this evening: BFBM (but I compensated by not doubling up)

Did 6W6P all week except 30 day shred once when I had less time. My daughter cheered me on with a couple of leg lifts on side planks...ouch. I only started mid month but I will put my feeble no. of days exercised down anyway to spur me on to catch up :D
11 days

Hi @sobercurious2021 - I'm on apple not android so no idea why the pricing is different Confused how strange!

When I first signed up I got a 7 day free trial and i got an email which confirmed the price that it would be when the trial ended.

Day 46 of BR for me Smile

Two rest days for me. I have found my next challenge once I complete BS in just over a week. There is a 10 week programme by Caroline Girvan which I am going to attempt (shhh don’t tell Jillian!). I have been watching some of her workouts on YouTube and did one on Friday which I really enjoyed. I’m going to need it since I have just stuffed two slices of Dominos doner kebab pizza and a cookie Blush

I had a planned rest day yesterday, and I’ve just done 30DS L3D2 and KB&T L1D8. I’ve also managed over 15,000 steps today.

Days exercised: 26

That Caroline Girvan plan looks hard roonetta but she is in great shape so I'd be interested to hear what the workouts are like and the results you get.

Hope you enjoyed your Dominos!! We had Chinese takeaway on Saturday and big roast dinner on Sunday so really need to rein in my eating so that I have a chance of seeing these abs that I am working so hard for!! Difficult when there's not an awful lot else going on though.

Oubliette you are killing it!! Wish I could be as motivated to do 2 programmes at once.

Rest day for me yesterday but back to Jillian today.

So have signed up for app. Just did BR01. Has anyone bought the foam roller and sliders (?) ?

RI30 L2D4 done (had rest days over the weekend). I've promised DD that we can have a JM-free half term if she gets through the next two weeks without whining and phoning it in.

Days exercised in January - a feeble 12 if you count JM days. I drag DD out for a walk every weekday lunchtime and we go to the park at the weekend, but that doesn't really count as exercise, just fresh air and daylight.

Hi @sobercurious2021 - I am currently in week 7 of BR and no foam rollers or sliders required so far - I just have dumbbells and a mat. A few of the exercises involve a cable (or "torture tube" as she calls it Grin), but I just substitute dumbbells and it works fine.

Report
AlgonquinBay · 01/02/2021 13:18

Well done professor 12 days is great, it's 3 times a week which is fantastic and walking burns more calories than you realise I find.

How old is your DD? I am very impressed that she is doing the workouts, my DS's would not entertain exercising with me for a moment!! Even a walk in the park with me is like torture for them Hmmand they certainly wouldn't do it every day.

Day 47 of BR done here along with some extra cardio - Jillian ground me to a paste Halo

Ah good. I don't want to fork out unless I really have to. I have dumbbells and stretch bands. Thanks!

I agree Caroline Girvan's programme looks hard Algonquin. She does have a beginners programme too so I will start with the normal one and see how I get on. I might have to revert to beginners level and work my way up. I will let you know how it goes.

I am also impressed Professor at you getting your DD to join in with your workouts. My DS (12) began doing a JM workout with me a couple of weeks ago for his PE lesson and gave up after the warm up saying he had a stitch. No amount of bribery will get him to do it again. My two are exactly the same Algonquin when trying to get them to come for a walk - torture.

Good luck with BR sobercurous - it's a really great programme and you do only need dumbbells and a cable Smile

BS WO7 done. I managed to do rock n roll squats for the first time ever. I saw a tip where someone said to use dumbbells and this gives you more leverage when you are standing back up, and it worked! I was so chuffed (sad I know) Grin

@AlgonquinBay, DD is 10. Old enough to be susceptible to reason and realise she really needs to exercise while she’s out of school, young enough to be reasonably biddable- the teenage hormones haven’t kicked in yet. She was terrible about going for walks, but has suddenly got better about it in the last week.
