Well done @roonetta!

I’ve only managed Day 1 of Body Shred so far as took 2 rest days this week due to dreadful period which left me exhausted and demotivated... Anyway back at it now and really enjoyed D1 of BS. It’s a really good workout! Looking forward to the rest of the programme.

Contemplating sober October too. Is anyone else doing it? X

roonetta · 29/09/2021 19:57

Well done Wineloffa. Sorry to hear about the dreaded period. I always feel exhausted around the time of mine. I don’t drink, but happy to maybe give up something else for October for moral support. Chocolate maybe? Grin

Well done @roonetta! You are smashing it!

I’m going to give Sober October a go so if you’d like to join me for a month of chocolate sobriety - that would be awesome!

I did 6W6P L2 this morning. Will do a 5k walk later.

Back to Body Shred tomorrow. I’m really enjoying it. It’s like a much tougher 30 Day Shred. Same 3,2,1 format but with 4 circuits instead of 3.

roonetta · 02/10/2021 19:24

Glad you are enjoying Body Shred Wineloffa. I must admit to eating some chocolate buttons yesterday, but I will do the rest of the month with you Grin. Couldn’t quite believe it was October already!

Just a 20 minute Girvan workout today

I would like to ask for your thoughts ladies. My weight is still going in the wrong direction. I read recently that steady state cardio is no good for weight loss after your 50's, and I assume this is what my Walks with Leslie would be classed as. It's a shame as I really love them, and hate HIIT with a passion. Not really sure what I am asking you, but just wondered if you had any thoughts or successes doing things other than HIIT workouts? Would like to avoid them if possible. Anyway, I did Epic Heat dumbbell cardio today which I find is slower due to holding the dumbbells, but still hard on this 50 year old body Confused

@roonetta are you calorie counting to make sure you’re in a calorie deficit? My Fitness Pal is really good. I lost 10lbs before my 40th a couple of years by logging everything I ate and restricting to 1200/ 1300 calories per day.

You’re already so good with your exercise so don’t really know what to suggest in that department!

roonetta · 06/10/2021 12:45

Thanks Wineloffa. I don't count calories and I know that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise so I really should. I have done it before and found it time consuming so I just cut back on what I was eating, but I know an extra couple of ounces here and there really do make a difference. Maybe I will start making my portions smaller and see if that helps. Cutting out the chocolate for October may help Grin How is your Sober October going?

Girvan 500 rep shoulder challenge done.

Haven’t exercised since Wednesday, but did walk to and from work on Friday and did 18,000 steps yesterday on a walk with my sister so don’t feel too bad about it. Randomly did Epic 3 day 24 today as that popped up on YouTube when I was deciding what to do. Full body dumbbell workout. Felt good 😊

Active rest day yesterday as walked to and from work.

I must confess Wineloffa that 'no chocolate October' is not going well Blush

@roonetta well done on the exercise! I’m really struggling with the no booze too although at least it makes me more enthusiastic for exercise, especially at the weekends!

Today I did Body Shred Day 2. Still enjoying this although my glutes and arms are still sore from the Caroline Girvan full body dumbbell workout I did on Sunday..

roonetta · 12/10/2021 12:21

Ahh yes her full body workouts are a killer Wineloffa Grin. Did you enjoy it?

Wineloffa · 14/10/2021 15:56

@roonetta I did enjoy the Caroline workout as it was a lot less frantic than Jillian’s, less jumping around, etc. but very intense, hence the soreness!

I did 6W6P L1 this morning instead of Body Shred cardio.

@roonetta did you enjoy the full body dumbbell work out? I love it and try to do it once a week now.

This morning I did Body Shred Day 4. Omg! So tough!!!

roonetta · 20/10/2021 07:42

Yes I do enjoy them @Wineloffa but I only did the 30 minute one yesterday. I can’t seem to find the time to do any more than that at the moment Sad

20 minute Girvan dumbbell leg workout.

Days exercised 183. I've worked out that I will need to exercise for 57 days to reach my goal of 240 and there are only 73 days left until the end of the year. So, yep, that's probably not happening grin

Good afternoon! Well done on keeping it up both of you!

I’ve been doing the odd JM workout (did L&S earlier) but I just can’t seem to get back into it properly since finishing BR. I’ve kept up running a few times a week though.

I need to make myself a timetable as I’ll be more likely to stick to it I think.

I still haven’t tried CG! I need to find this full body dumbbell workout.

roonetta · 21/10/2021 13:02

Hello Beetroot Smile - Getting back into it once you have stopped for a while is hard. You are still doing brilliantly with the running - keep going! Star

Hi @gratedbeetroot - let us know how you get on with CG’s full body dumbbell workout. I think you’ll like it!

This morning I did Day 4 of Body Shred followed by a Power Yoga session from Jillian’s app. Really struggling with anxiety again this week so really had to force myself through some of it but felt a bit better afterwards. Endorphins are good medicine.

roonetta · 24/10/2021 15:43

Sorry to hear you have anxiety Wineloffa. I agree exercise is a great medicine for lots of things. Well done on getting through it StarFlowers.
