Run / Walk / Swim / Cycle 1000km / miles in 2021 here we go again!

Third year for me aiming to be as active as possible most days. So join me in setting a goal and keeping on track by logging on here Smile. I’ve set a 500mile run target this year to be realistic as I’ve nursed foot issues most of 2021 which really curtailed my running miles but sea swimming and trail running have developed into my passions. What’s your challenge this year?

I find running far harder than cycling. My ultimate respect to those of you who clock up distance on your own two legs. At least a bike has gears and I can freewheel down hills! Grin

A cold wet 7k run yesterday and 10K of dog walking in the breaks between the rain.

Just a short dog walk today to ease my stiff legs plus I’m nursing a really stiff neck my right shoulder locked up over night. I’m hoping there’s a gap in the weather tomorrow for a possible sunrise SeaSwim if the frigging endless gale force winds drop that have been blowing all week.....

Long day at work, managed you drag myself out for a little 5k recovery run. Was 7 degrees, I was sweating😂😂😂

Oh gosh your good I’m not planning to run again until Tuesday or Wed Smile hope to swim and cycle though, plus did a good 25mins of yoga earlier as legs sore.

I find if I can manage it and am not too sore a slow short run helps after the longer ones. I took my time over today’s 5k (34 mins)! Really I was just desperate to get outside as I’d been at my desk all day.

I keep meaning to do some yoga!!! What program do you follow @TriSeaSwim99?

I do Yoga with Adriene, with the odd other YouTube. I like Yoga with Biola who is a lot less glam, and YogaTX has a few nice specific ones.

I finally did it! Yesterday I managed my first half marathon. It wasn't planned so I didn't have any water/fuel but luckily I was fine, delighted to have managed it. I suppose the next goal is a marathon!

Running: 242km
Walking: 169km

Whoohoo HapHap well done. I tried stepping upto marathon last winter but just got injured and it stopped me running properly for 6mths Sad slightly given me the fear now that I can’t do it. I really did really want to do one before I was 50...I’ll see if I can maintain run fitness over the summer I may build again for a winter one2021/22. I’m going to switch more to cycling now.

To anyone thinking of doing their first marathon I did mine last year end it was amazing, I still get a little buzz when I think about it😍😍😍

Another 7k for me tonight, I’m a nice groove with my running at the moment!

12km today - still tired but think I’m adjusting to very little sleep! Bloody hell it was warm - 10 degrees! I overdressed and was very sweaty but glad I got out for a nice easy run.

No exercise today, DS has been very full on and work and everything just got on top of me. Going to try and go out at lunchtime tomorrow to avoid this issue.

Late to join but my goal for this year is to walk, run or cycle 2021km. Only walked so far but plan to start some small runs in March.

Welcome @Flupibass and @SarahGel3! Wow Sarah that’s a lot of walking!!!

So I’ve upped my goal for this year😱😱😱 My initial goa was 1000km of running but as I’ve already done nearly a quarter I’ve started a new challenge with Conquerer which is to run the Iceland ring road this year! I’m it’s 1332km😱 I have an app and enter each distance and then it shows me where I am! I’m really enjoying it as I’ve been to Iceland before and it’s amazing.

They do other routes too, it’s not cheap (£35ish) but works out cheaper than the monthly medals I usually sign up to and the medal looks awesome🤩

Quick seaswim dip yesterday and 17km nip around block on the bike this morning. Dog walk & yoga but I’m not tracking those.

Lovely to see a few join in, there were only 3 of us by the end of last year 🤣

Do you have to go round and round outside on the bike within your 5k? Or can you start and go on the bike outside that range?

The weather forecast lied - instead of rain it's dry and bright, proper sun now! And a balmy 12°C . 10km walk, during which time the crocuses in my front lawn deigned to bloom.Grin
