New thread needed! All runners welcome, whatever your pace or distance.
Cold icy run for me this morning, couple of exciting sliding episodes! Not a fan of the ice...

A paltry 4K last night after a week off. Felt good though!

5km yesterday, a lot of knee pain at the moment, which I'm hoping to alleviate with yoga and smaller strides.

Not what I need right now, when running is the only break I get!

Hope everyone else is ok.

Good 8 miles this morning. The lighter days make a difference.

You can do it spudlet. Just to say I’m not very good and following training programmes and have never bothered for any half marathons I’ve done. But I did for my marathon and would definitely recommend finding a training programme to follow.
A lovely run and chat with a friend and the rain stayed away.

Approx 5 lovely miles today. I say approx as my strava failed around 3/4 the way round 😫

I’m trying to build up miles so I really slowed my pace and properly took in my surroundings, treated it like a walk I guess. Stopped at gates and stuff to look at the views. I saw 2 deer, 1 owl, 1 rabbit, 4 pheasants and 100 sheep 🤣 Luckily no cows!!

Way to go Spudlet. Hope knee gets better @50FootWave.
After a week off if all exercise I've struggled this week but have done 2 pleasant yet short jaunts

Thanks everyone 😊 @IRun4Me Definitely going to be using a training plan for this! Torn between the Women’s Running one and the VLM beginners one, no huge rush to decide though.

Got out early today as DH has gone to work at his dad’s house (we’re in a bubble). DFiL has ME and unfortunately it’s been triggered by his Covid vaccine, it seems. So DH and ddog have set off to bring a bit of company and cheer, hopefully. I don’t much like running first thing but needs must! 5k done before breakfast.

So windy here at the moment.
10k Tuesday and a half marathon yesterday. Going to have a rest day today

Congrats @Spudlet - you will love it! I used the Hal Higdon plan. Just FYI most plans show 5dpw running but I did mine on 4 and was fine. I’m just passing that on as I found looking at 16wks of 5dpw running a bit intimidating!

@Annoy that sounds like a lovely run!

Had a bit of a disaster this am. Was supposed to be long intervals, getting faster from mara pace to above mara pace. Unfortunately I started off at 8min mile by mistake with inevitable consequences! At least I’ve discovered I can’t run a mara at 8min miles 😂

Hope your FIL feels better soon @Spudlet. London was my first marathon and I used the VLM beginners plan. I also can’t do more than 4 days running a week!
Glad you enjoyed your wee jaunts @WhatILoved!
Steady wee lunchtime run in the sunshine, very nice.

Morning run which was warm enough to wear my cropped leggings and no jumper. Spring is on its way

Ah @Spudlet I hope your FIL starts to feel more like himself soon!

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 18/02/2021 20:38

8.4 miles today before work. Loved it xx

Definitely shorts and t-shirt running there. It does mean I fall apart in the summer as my body can’t handle heat.

8.1 bouncy miles in my new trainers Grin

Iamblossom · 19/02/2021 11:44

Ah nothing like a new trainer run. Grin I even like runs in new bouncy trainer socks!

6 miles this morning, a nice road run, apart from 3 km of it straight into a head wind. I wish I'd worn a brighter colour, felt a bit exposed on a 2km stretch with no pavement. Hmm

Ooh @CalmConfident what did get? I love new kit days 🤣

CalmConfident · 19/02/2021 17:35

@CalmConfident love those. I run in Brooks Ghost 13s.

Still annoying blustery wind here. Intervals today.

They are very pink! But very cool 😎

Doublethecuddles · 19/02/2021 20:48

CalmConfident fantastic colour. I love my Brooks.

50FootWave · 20/02/2021 07:00

Morning, all, I'm a bit behind this week with posting cos of work and half-term, so lovely to see all the runs!

Nice Brookes, @CalmConfident - I wear these, too.

Adding my run from Thursay (6km). I'm still getting some knee pain, so have dropped from 4 to 3 runs with no back to back runs. Hopefully that will help.

Sunday is my longer run, but I'll just take it slow, my going faster plans are on hold for now!
