New thread all Smile

plink I love the circuit workouts but they always fool me into thinking they are going to be easy but they hurt!! Shoulder intervals are definitely the easiest of them all and there for my favourites Grin

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 07/09/2020 12:32

Oh yeah I remember those yum! I watched the one for gluten free bread which made it alot clearer 😂😂😂

Purple, yes!!! LIIFT legs!! Love deadlifts! It's squats I hate 😂😂 stairs are always a problem after that work out. Really have to hold on to the handrails. The real test is going down stairs though... if its still sore in that direction, you know you've done a good job 😂😂

Oh lovely yum, I love a good family walk! DS isn't the age yet where we can go for hikes but i can't wait for the day we can 😂 we're lucky we live in Devon as the South West Coast path is literally on our doorstep. Planning on doing the whole path one year.

Food hasn't been perfect. Getting back into the habit of tracking my pots is harder than I remember. When I dont track im trying to just be mindful of what I eat and the portion size. Haven't even had a chance to carve out time for my physio exercises. It'll come with time and OH not being on nights 😂 in my head I feel ready to dive right back into Liift but I know my body isn't.

WhatILoved · 08/09/2020 22:16

I did legs week 7 today! I know I'll be in pain tomorrow. What program should I follow after Lift4 - any tips? I need to be a tiny bit careful with my knee, I dislocated it badly in early 20s and occasionally go through periods of it feeling loose/twingey like now!. Some cardio/running is fine but constant jumping every day not great.

yumyumpoppycat · 09/09/2020 17:32

Plink I am not sure I have seen the bread one - going to have to look it up now! Does she squish it in to the container 😂

Ooh well done what! I haven't been on bbod for a while - there are so many choices!! If you want mostly sep weights and cardio then maybe p90x3 - it's good if you have a pull-up bar but think you can just modify. Hammer and chisel is quite good but think there is a bit of plyo it suggest lots of equipment but modifications are given. No real need for pull-up bar or jumping for Chaldean extreme but that will seem very slow and dated compared to lift... I used to have to fast forward a fair bit.
I haven't done most of the other autumn workouts.

Purple how is the g dh yet going now - hope the results are catching up on the scales a bit more.

Body balance today - the only thing I can seem to do is tree pose Blush

yumyumpoppycat · 09/09/2020 17:34

Oops purple my message went weird on auto correct g dh is diet Grin

Purpleraindeer · 10/09/2020 20:38

Whatiloved- What about 6 weeks of the prep or 6 weeks of the work? I think they’ve got a similar feel to lift as they’re a combo of weights and cardio. Also p90x3 - but I think I’m the only one on this thread who likes it.

Have had a couple of really tough workouts as they’ve had to happen after not eating for 16hrs so it’s fair to say I struggled a bit. Got them done though. Weight has started to come off again Smile am 3kg down after 11 days. I really recommend this diet. The first week was tough as I got used to it but it has been very effective

yumyumpoppycat · 16/09/2020 16:33

Purple I just saw on the 800 thread you are almost at goal - that's amazing well done!! Short and sharp did the trick! How have you worked the food round exercising?

I am a dieting and exercise disaster but fully convinced I will turn it round any day now 😂

How's everyone else going?

Purpleraindeer · 17/09/2020 19:42

Not much exercising here for the last week as I’ve had a horrible cold. Restarted today and it felt awful. But I guess that is probably the impact of a few days off and having been ill.

Yes, I’m super pleased about fast800. It really worked for me. I approached it like a hardcore challenge rather than a diet and mentally that worked for me. You’ll turn it around poppy. You’ve done it before so you know you can.

Hi to everyone else! Hope you’re well.

Reastie · 22/09/2020 19:45

Hi all,

You dropped off my I’m on and I lost you. How is everyone?

Haven’t posted because felt my most demotivated for years. Have had to resort to just walking for up to an hour twice a week because of my back but I’ve also been eating too much and generally totally lost my mojo. This is totally new because I’ve never lost it like this since I lost weight 8 years ago. I can see I’m getting very flabby and my thighs rub Blush . I need to get motivation but it’s easier said than done. I can’t do body balance type stuff because it aggregates my back but I might try harder going on my bike. Must try harder. Must do better. I feel like I should have more time because I’m not working now but yet I end out with less time somehow (but a tidier house). Need to ignore mess and focus on workouts. Got my turbo set up in the shed so I can use it in winter when weather bad so that’s a plus.

Are you feeling better yet purple? Yumy have you turned it around yet?

Purpleraindeer · 23/09/2020 06:30

Oh no reastie. You sound low. Don’t be so hard on yourself - mojo loss just happens and you’ve been injured too which is super depressing. It’s tough when you get out of the habit and then life just takes up all the space that exercise had and you can’t conceive of how you’ll fit it in again. I’m finding something a bit similar with running. I can’t seem to want to get back out there. I’m trying to remember what it was I liked about it and then use that to motivate myself.

In other news my diet has been a bit too effective and DH told me (kindly) I’d lost too much weight and he was worried. When I look at my face I agree with him.

yumyumpoppycat · 23/09/2020 20:03

Reastie great that you have the turbo set up and waiting for you. It is horrible feeling like the mojo is gone but it is totally understandable when you have been hit by injuries and now your back - add in the COVID stuff too which is bringing everyone down. But despite all that you are doing hour long walks which is def positive and good for you and you are managing to keep your house tidy so that is definitely a lot of energy being used up (my house is such a mess and one of many things I need to do better on!). Fingers crossed you are able to get back to some of the workouts you live soon.

Purple did you continue loosing despite bringing up cals? it's really annoying how quickly faces show weight loss compared to bodies! At least now you have leeway to gain a little weight while you build up your cals/carbs and find what works for maintenance.

I am not back on track quite yet - if I could get to bed tonight at a decent time and not have a late snack of toast that will be a step in the right direction!

Reastie · 25/09/2020 19:03

Thank you. Good new, I forced myself this morning and Wednesday morning to walk Ds to sleep in the buggy so I could use the bike turbo I’ve set up in the shed whilst he slept, did a 30 min lmod spin workout so feel like I’ve made more progress than sitting on the sofa even if I took it gently. The comments really helped me, thank you.

Purple are you going to stop the diet? I suppose it shows it works!

Yumy did you get to bed in time and avoid the toast?!

WhatILoved · 25/09/2020 21:56

Yeah if you have injuries it must be so hard! And also with the nights drawing in and all these local lockdowns mental health can suffer. I've felt a bit lower than usual this week too, but started the Prep nonetheless!

Purpleraindeer · 26/09/2020 12:55

That’s brilliant re the turbo reastie. I had the same experience with a run today - got back out there and enjoyed it, but it was slooow. It’s a start and that’s good enough.

Yes, I stopped the diet but I always find it mentally very difficult to go back to normal eating so I’m still doing 16:8 and still quite low carb but not weighing food. I did have a curry and wine last night Smile

Let us know how you get on with The Prep whatiloved

Purpleraindeer · 28/09/2020 10:19

Just a small update to say I’m trying 10 rounds. What has happened to Joel???? Omg someone needs to tell him a beard and a bandana is not a good look for him Smile

PlinkPlink · 28/09/2020 14:43

Hey everyone!

Oh Reastie, hope you're feeling a little more positive after that quick workout? It makes such a difference. I remember feeling pretty low post baby with regards to how much weight I had and how much i was eating. Its worse when you're injured. Slow and steady though... just one little victory at a time.

Yum, update on the toast evasion? 😂😂 for me it would be toast and nutella

Pahaha Purple, beard and a bandana?! God, I hate beards anyway. Him and his wife posted a picture yesterday on IG as it was his birthday. He's less beard and looking pretty good! Is the 10 Rounds one the one where they're all in rooftops and stuff?

Progress here... down to 12st 8. So couple of lbs but still in the right direction. Nice and slow. I wasnt trying this last week so I'm putting it down to breastfeeding.

yumyumpoppycat · 01/10/2020 20:01

Purple and what hope you are enjoying the new workouts! What who does the prep?

Reastie that is brill you got a spin workout under your belt too!

Fab about the 2lbs off plink!

Embarrassingly I haven't managed to avoid the toast BlushBlush I did do some good kitchen deep cleaning inspired by Reastie though!

I am literally falling apart it feels like at the moment - I had a hysteroscopy this week which was fine and apparently everything looked good which was a relief but have to wait for results on biopsy. Also went to gp as have a puffy ankle with pain and redness. I was convinced it was gout but gp doesn't think it's that - poss an infection so have I antibiotics on standby but I still don't really know what caused it. Already had antibiotics for the gynae stuff so not keen to take more. All of this stuff should be kicking me up the bum to eat healthier and lose weight really shouldn't it 😬

PlinkPlink · 01/10/2020 20:46

Nope definitely not yum!

You should eat what you can and if it happens to be unhealthy, you shouldn't beat yourself up. You really sound like you're in the wars... nutrition and fitness is not going to be at the top of your agenda.

Take it super easy on yourself.
Build things back up slowly -that includes nutrition. Even if its as small as cutting out a spoon of sugar in your coffee etc. Its all about doing what you're comfortable with and at the right pace for you. You will get there.

P.s. OH and I have had a succession of takeaways (the number of which shall not be mentioned) that I am not too proud of but I am trying not beat myself up over it too Grin

WhatILoved · 01/10/2020 21:02

Yes purple I also prefer clean shaven look. I was looking at snaps of his wife the other day, she is very toned.

Well done on weight loss plink. I really found it difficult to lose weight whilst breastfeeding as weirdly felt body was not my own. Amoila Cesar does the Prep

Yumi sounds like you just need to look after yourself even if it means having the extra thing or 2.

I had a Macdonalds with kids tonight. I've been checking in everywhere with this new Covid app. In assume it knows you've checked out ??

Reastie · 02/10/2020 11:36

Plink 2lbs is good work, well done.

Yumy oh dear, how are you now? Do you have to wait long for the results of the biopsy? I think sometimes in situations like that I find it harder than ever to eat well etc, it feels like what’s the point when so much is wrong, just do what you can and my mantra when I don’t know if I can be bothered is every little bit counts and makes a difference, but don’t feel bad about it, I’m having the same struggles. I also find it’s harder on the diet when you can’t be physically fit because of physical issues, it’s like a domino effect.

Whatiloved I’m not sure about the app but that’s a good point! Does it know from Bluetooth where you are? I haven’t downloaded it yet but then I never go anywhere atm as we are keeping clear of risks as much as possible (apart from dd mixing with 40 others in her bubble, most of which don’t follow any rules so not sure why I bother...).

PlinkPlink · 02/10/2020 12:20

4lbs up today 🙈🙈🙈 no more takeaways 😂

Reastie · 02/10/2020 15:38

That’s only 2lbs up after the loss plink . Did you enjoy the takeaways though? Sometimes a bit of a break can be good for the enjoyment at the time, and life can’t always be perfect. How is baby plink btw? Still bfing 4 times a day and no return of af yet nearly 16 months on!

PlinkPlink · 02/10/2020 16:11

Yeah they were lush Reastie 🤣🤣🤣

True. That's it now though. Not doing that again for quite a while 😂😂

Shes a dream. Not too happy at the moment as she's teething and going through a leap 🙄🤨

16 months? Mine returned last month!! 😂😂😂 lucky you Reastie 😂😂😂😂

PlinkPlink · 02/10/2020 16:12

How is your little one doing?

yumyumpoppycat · 03/10/2020 15:23

Thanks so much for kind messages 💕

reastie I will prob need to wait 10 days. Wish I knew what was wrong with my ankle but it seems a bit better so not taking antibiotics yet fingers crossed it clears up by itself ... weird! Wow your ds is 16 months Shocksuch an adorable (but full on!) age.

plink I am not brave enough to go on scales after a takeaway! Hopefully it will drop off again quickly. Poor you and your dd teething sucks.

Purpleraindeer · 03/10/2020 19:03

Hi all
Sorry to hear about all the health stuff poppy - you are in the wars. Fair enough to not have diet and fitness at the top of the agenda - particularly given youve got a problem with the ankle. a friend of mine broke her ankle and just did upper body stuff whilst it healed. She looked like Popeye after 6 weeks in a cast. I’m not sure I’d recommend that Grin

I’m not sure how I feel about 10 rounds. The boxing is quite fun but I don’t ever feel like I get much cardio from it. My arms, shoulders and back are sore though so it’s doing something. DH took the piss out of me whilst I was doing it - I think it was my pathetic girl punches Hmm

Glad to hear the baby is well plink. Talking about leaps takes me back. Urgh I hated them - I felt like i should be delighted with the new development but mostly was just wanting a good nights sleep and for the crying to stop!
