W8R1 done. The last minute was a huge struggle with jelly legs but I did it.

Fiddie · 13/03/2019 19:42

Well done @dementedma

I've gone back a bit and did 20 minutes yesterday. I'm going to try 25 tomorrow and see how it goes.

I'd love to complete it if I can.

Violetroselily · 13/03/2019 22:10

@Fiddie good for you

Hope it goes well tomorrow

dementedma · 15/03/2019 19:20

Visiting London so a new place to run. Wk8 R2 along Regents Canal

TheSteveMilliband · 16/03/2019 10:49

Demented, I think it says something when you suss out the local running routes when away from home! Sounds lovely too.
Wk9R1 and ran my first park run today. Plodded, was slower than people who were walking most of the way (!) but kept jogging and made it so on a bit of a high right now Grin

dementedma · 16/03/2019 13:45

Thanks Steve. I have to because i know that if i miss one or two runs i will just slide back into lethargy and stop completely. Im not enjoying it but determined to keep at it. Well done on the Park Run. I havent got that far yet

vjg13 · 16/03/2019 16:08

I haven't got the courage for a Park Run yet but like the idea, I would like to ideally be faster before I try one. Well done!

TheSteveMilliband · 17/03/2019 08:39

VJG me too, but thought it might spur me on a bit. Actually just plodded the same as usual. It was very friendly though and nice to be encouraged. Demented, I know what you mean. My legs have been sore (I suspect shin splints) but I'm loathe to stop for a couple of weeks as I'm not sure I'd get started again.

dementedma · 17/03/2019 15:40

W8R3 and first real fail. Didnt get past 20 mins and I've managed the 28 mins before. Really annoyed with myself

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 17/03/2019 16:58

I did it! W9R3 ....all done, so I start again now on the treadmill and see how that goes ...my poor ankles are not going to like this!

demented ...that's disappointing, but maybe just a bad day? Was that you running elsewhere, maybe faster?

dementedma · 17/03/2019 17:16

Well done mighty thats brilliant.
I dont know what went wrong other than I think i started too fast as was puffed very early on. I was ready to stop after 10 mins but managed to get to 20. Disappointing when i have done 28 twice already

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 19/03/2019 10:50

Have my graduation run Thursday evening and panicking a bit as my hip/back are playing up

timetomoveon · 19/03/2019 14:38

MsMighty - well done :) congrats!
Demented - you should be proud that you were going to stop at 10 but carried on til 20. Hope the next run is easier.

A quick question for you all - I have an iPhone and used the NHS couch to 5k app. My husband wants to try now but he has an android phone and cant find the app. Do any of you have an android phone and recommend an app? Thanks :)

Macs18 · 19/03/2019 18:26

timetomoveon I use an android phone and have the NHS app. It's definitely available.

dementedma · 19/03/2019 19:59

I have Android and I have the C25K NHs one.
Thanks time. next attempt is tomorrow and running with a buddy so hopefully that will keep me going

Violetroselily · 19/03/2019 21:41

Shepherdspy83 · 20/03/2019 09:13

Well done violet 🏃‍♀️🥳

dementedma · 20/03/2019 20:23

well done violet
Managed the 28 mins of W8R3 but it was a massive struggle. it just seems to be getting harder and harder, instead of easier. Think I'm going to stay at Wk 8 for a bit until I can manage it without thinking I'm going to die. Did anyone else find Wk 8 really hard?

Fiddie · 20/03/2019 20:59

I've not even managed r1 of wk8 yet demented. I'm stuck on 25 minutes.

vjg13 · 21/03/2019 10:04

Well done Violet! TBH I'm still finding it hard running for 30 mins and graduated about 3+weeks ago, I managed 33 minutes on Sunday but struggled with 30 yesterday.

I do really, really want to keep going and improve though.

dementedma · 21/03/2019 20:03

fiddie it seemd an enormous jump from 25 to 28 somehow doesnt it? Im finding it really hard so not going to attemot week 9 for a while yet.
vjg well done

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 21/03/2019 20:57

Completed my graduation run in 46 minutes

So glad I've completed! Never stuck to any exercise before

dementedma · 22/03/2019 20:51

Very well done. Runni g for 46 minutes is amazing.
I did a hilly 20 mins tonight to try and build some stamona for the longer distances
