The newsest thread for all runners to chat and keep track of their miles. Everyone welcome for support, guidance and general running talk including very important kit choices Wink

On their website these look pretty good

gloves

emummy · 21/10/2017 07:34

Final holiday run, slightly shorter and a bit faster. Will miss finishing my runs by sitting at the pool bathing my feet!
Wishing some people swear by silver lined gloves in winter, don't know much about them though.

emummy · 21/10/2017 07:36

No it's not! 278.5! Sorry!

bibblebobblebubble · 21/10/2017 14:53

A muddy parkrun

ClimbingPenguin · 21/10/2017 16:41

Light intervals on Thursday as cool down for tomorrow

MyBlackCat · 21/10/2017 20:34

It’s the first Saturday since February that I’ve missed a parkrun but I did get to lounge in the sun all afternoon ☀️😀

Early morning loop, more enjoyable than yesterday.

289.7

Firefries · 21/10/2017 22:45

I did 4 miles. Adding that ..

293.7. And I just noticed I have bold back. Awesome. I don't know why it changed earlier but there you go. It's getting colder out. I'm really feeling it.

NoCryingInEngineering · 22/10/2017 07:10

Slightly muddy and rather slow parkrun for me yesterday. Almost 10mins slower than my PB for that course. But it'll get easier right?

I've done something to my hip running home from work on Thursday. Think perhaps I didn't warm up properly Sad

Started as a sore glute but now feels more like hip tendon. I'm in agony. Sleeping poorly. Doesn't seem to be getting any better. It's better when I move and worse when I sleep/lie down.

Paracetamol takes edge off just a bit. Oh dear this is horrible. Off with dc for half term and not having much fun.

Lesson learned. But how to get through next few days?

BorisTrumpsLair · 22/10/2017 09:33

Feels like SPD I had when pg but much worse.

ClimbingPenguin · 22/10/2017 15:03

Managed to run the whole marathon! Injuries stayed at bay, finished too fast suggested I held myself back a bit too much. Was mentally so much harder than I anticipated. Time of 4:07:30, although not my initial target, considering I managed less than half of my training plan I’m pretty stoked

Well done ClimbingPenguin!

21 miles to add this week. Two 5ks, one mostly made up of intervals and hill sprints and 15miles today. 15 miles is the furthest I have ever run. Slightly niggly hip so I suspect I will reduce my mileage a bit next week.

emummy · 22/10/2017 17:26

Climbing that's fantastic! Well done!
Boris you could google piriformis syndrome/pain and see if it sounds like that. If so there are a lot of stretches you can try and physio can be very helpful. Hope you get it sorted, sounds very unpleasant

Marvellousmarg · 22/10/2017 18:39

Well done climbing that's brilliant!

Sorry to hear boris have you rested it today? how's it feeling now..

wishing I wore Primark fur lined leggings last winter and for some weird reason they kept my feet warm! Worth a go at only £5

I have 7 miles to add from two short runs with wee speedy intervals (really getting into them!)

BorisTrumpsLair · 23/10/2017 07:46

Emummy. I think that could be it. Thank you.

It's hard to "rest" as sitting is dreadful for it. Lying down bad too. Walking not great either Shock

I got some volteral which helps a little but as it is such a deep muscle it's tricky to target.

I'll try a few stretches and some ice too. It really did seem to come from no where.

BorisTrumpsLair · 23/10/2017 07:46

Missing being active very much.

MyBlackCat · 23/10/2017 10:10

Well done climbing get well soon boris

Another early morning holiday run, one more before home

bibblebobblebubble · 23/10/2017 22:56

Ran partway home from work (felt rather sorry for the fellow commuters on the train I got for the second part of the journey!)

I'm listening to the Running Commentary podcast at the moment and enjoying it, any other listeners?

emummy · 23/10/2017 23:00

I love Running Commentary bibble! All my podcasts are running related, sad I know!

Firefries · 24/10/2017 03:21

Adding my latest run so new total
360.9

emummy · 24/10/2017 08:26

Nice cool run in the dark this morning. Trying to speed up a bit ahead of cross country in 2 weeks. Will have a go at park run this week as a test.

363.8

MyBlackCat · 24/10/2017 14:32

Final holiday run - back to uk in the morningSad

367.4

cinnamongreyhound · 24/10/2017 22:28

Of course it will NoCryingInEngineering!

That’s impressive MyBlackCat, that’s nearly 9 months of solid parkrunning! Sad you have to come home but think at least you’ve been somewhere lovely Grin

Have you got an appointment to be seen BorisTrumpsLair? Sounds like you may need more than rest!

Brilliant, well done ClimbingPenguin!!!!

I don’t know where my parkrun post went! I managed sub 30 for the first time at home in ages and the dog was crap so it was mostly just me! Canicross run yesterday and am and pm run today! 382

I made an appointment for docs this morning and then felt so good for the first half of the day I called and cancelled it. Which. Was. Stupid. Now I'm at end of the day and I'm in agony. Will try again tomorrow.
