Amazing buggy run MyBlackCat!

Horrible cold has struck me so I decided it was kill or cure for parkrun and despite being told I looked white and shouldn't be there I finished in just over 31 mins and felt better for it. Ran again today and felt much easier, hoping I'm now over the worst! 241.5

I'm on holiday in Portugal this week and have made it out a couple of times - love running on holiday Smile

That sounds great MyBlackCat! We have a week booked in Majorca in October, really looking forward to running there.
Short run in the forest this morning, a new route, was very nice. Beautiful sunny day, if a bit chilly!

BorisTrumpsHair · 21/09/2017 15:23

I only had half a run last night - then I walked. First time that's ever happened.

Hope you're ok BorisTrumpsHair, could be the start of a bug or something?

Started with headtorch Wednesday and cut my run short today as I felt terrible! Feeling better as the day has gone on but still not quite right. 267

I'm OK cheers - you sound a bit out of sorts?
I've had a weird full on week and I have my period. I had a slow short run today too, with the added joy of rain today - I thought I would run off some of the week, but again found it hard to keep going. My back was hurting - never had that before.

Maybe less energy on my period? Does that happen? Also not been sleeping well.

I'll log 1.5 miles for the team - rest day tomorrow & first ever fun run on saturday - yes!

Yes I think hormones make a huge difference to how you exercise. I'm very emotional on my period and perhaps just less resilient. I've just got a cold from one of my minded children, I've been managing to run but I did fitcamp weds eve and I think it just wiped me out so i had lead legs and cold sweats Thursday morning, it's an early one too so probably a bit dehydrated.

less resilient - yes that is how I felt.
Last day of period today so hopefully I'm all good for tomorrow.

Hope you can rest up a bit and feel better soon Cinnamon

Sorelip · 22/09/2017 16:27

cinnamon, boris I'm sorry you're not feeling great. You'll be back on top in no time.

3.1 miles last night. I love running at night.

Hope you're both feeling better soon! Can recommend ROAR by Stacy Sims for info on the effect of your cycle on exercise & how to deal with it.
Freezing cold school running club session, then lovely woodland run with dog. Have worked out a semi flat route as a break from the hills!

Two short runs this week so 3.8 miles to add.

Two sleeps until the marathon. I'm in bed with a lemsip. Sore throat, cough, headache.

Which marathon are you doing marg?

Marvellousmarg · 23/09/2017 17:49

Loch Ness myblackcat
Feeling better today after my early night.

Nervous. 😬 It's my first (and only) one...

Fingers crossed it fits ok and I can add 26.2 miles to this tomorrow!!

cinnamongreyhound · 23/09/2017 19:06

A few club mates have done Loch Ness supposed to be a good marathon!

I was rd at parkrun today so no running for me. Doing a marathon relay around a track tomorrow, we've got 9 on our team but 2 children and one injured so not sure how many miles I'll actually end up doing. It's raising money for macmillan as our running club chairman has terminal cancer. 11 teams so far £5 per person, a BBQ, cake stall and raffle so hopefully a nice day.

Buggy parkrun PB today - running Nottingham half marathon tomorrow but just as a training run, need to be very disciplined to keep my HR below 150bpm Confused

Good luck marg and cinnamon - hopefully we will be adding lots of miles tomorrow Smile

emummy · 23/09/2017 19:40

Good luck to you all tomorrow. marg my brother lives in Inverness, have done the 10k and there is a good atmosphere. Have fun!

emummy · 24/09/2017 08:43

Early morning run up a big hill! Hadn't done this one for a while but it wan't as tough as I thought it would be. Not much of a view as it was misty at the top sadly but really enjoyed it and the dog had a great time!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/09/2017 14:53

Well we were last out of 11 teams but we had fun! I did 15.5 laps which is 3.85 miles according to my garmin. Really hard for me as we did 2 laps at a time so the worse part of a run over and over again Confused. We finished in 4:14, the first team finished in 2:20 Shock

Well done cinnamon!
Another wee run with dd2, longer running intervals this time

MyBlackCat · 24/09/2017 20:01

Nottingham half marathon done - found it really tough trying to run slow to keep my HR in check - the first 3 miles were very undulating Shock finished in just under 2:25 - hope to be at least 30 mins quicker at Peterborough half in a couple of weeks, now it's time to taper Smile

Well done cinnamon

marg hope you got on ok - no way could I have done another 13.1 miles today!

BorisTrumpsHair · 25/09/2017 12:38

so my 5km fun run in Hyde Park was 5.5km. last 500m was a bit tough but so pleased I've done it.

And new school for DC so my run to work is "broken in 2" now - but it still adds up to 2.4 miles :)
