Oh 36plus! We all have days like that. Hope you are tucked up at home feeling better.
Cantsee hope all is better for you soon

emummy · 03/09/2017 09:50

Sorry Cantsee, went over the page & forgot the 6 month part! Good luck with it all, fingers crossed for a trouble free rehab

Cantseethewoods · 03/09/2017 13:19

Thx all- as my bestie said about the 6 month rehab "It's shorter than pregnancy and at least you can still drink" Grin

I can do upper body strength work and from 3 months I can cycle and swim, so I feel like it's bearable.

Marvellousmarg · 03/09/2017 15:46

22 miles.
I'm totally done in now.

I'm supposed to be doing 18 today but I have too much work to do 😞

MyBlackCat · 03/09/2017 19:01

Despite feeling rough after a bad nights sleep being bunged up I decided to run my 10k. I started steady but felt ok so just pushed on, the 50 min pacer came into sight and I slowly closed him down and past him! The last 2km were tough but I crossed the line in 49:23 SmileSmileSmile

A shiny new PB by over a minute. So so happy but also wonder what I could have run had I been 100% healthy?

This running slow to run fast stuff really works Smile

30 minutes "easy" run. It was like torture.

In that time I managed 2 miles!

My legs are dead.

Brilliant MyBlackCat! Can't imagine doing sub 50! Well done
Lovely muddy hilly run in forest, no pain from knee on steep hills so maybe maybe this Sunday's 10k hill race is doable. Fingers crossed!

Hope your legs get some life back in them marg!

emummy · 07/09/2017 12:51

Gosh 36plus, that's warm. Can't quite remember what that feels like...
Damp 13 degree run up local hill today. No knee pain going up or down so will have a go at the 10k hill race on Sunday. Today's run had about the same elevation but in a shorter distance so trying to convince myself I can do it! Mainly motivated by the promise of cake; my friend organisig it has promised gluten free cake so I'd better go!

Hello - I graduated the C25K last week so I'm popping in to say high to all you "grown up" runners.

2 questions - what are the numbers you are all quoting? Miles jogged per month or ...?

Also, with an eye on running thought winter, what do runners wear in the rain? Today I just braved it out but it's not cold yet.

BorisTrumpsHair · 08/09/2017 11:56

or KM? it seems even in UK runs are measured in km?

emummy · 08/09/2017 12:09

School running club has started up again so brisk run this morning - 9 yr olds don't do pacing! Then walked the dog & met a man practising bagpipes! Good start to the day.

37 deg - hill drills ..... I was f**ked

emummy · 08/09/2017 15:51

Hi Boris! I'm sorry, scrolled right past you earlier. Welcome! The numbers are the group total for the month in miles.
In the rain I always wear a cap to keep my glasses clear! Can't bear having a hood up when running. I will sometimes wear a waterproof for the start of a run if the rain is heavy but am usually too warm to keep it on. Otherwise I just wear what suits the temperature.

BorisTrumpsHair · 08/09/2017 16:32

thanks emummy. I was puzzling as to how the numbers could get so high. :) I joined thread today so I'll add today's run.

Good idea re cap. I don't usually wear one but I do wear glasses and it was a drag getting them all rainy.

cinnamongreyhound · 08/09/2017 23:12

Hi BorisTrumpsHair, I don't wear anything different in rain no matter how cold im a hot runner (in temp terms!). We trailed miles and km and something else, maybe minutes for a monthly tally but miles were most popular, I've been on this thread a loooooong time! I did c25k Jan 2012 and have been running regularly ever since apart from a small gap having ds3 Wink

Weds and thurs am to add 113.7

Off to run fritton parkrun for the first time tomorrow followed by a swim in the lake!!

OP posts:
MyBlackCat · 09/09/2017 14:50

parkrun and a warm up - was too knackered for a cool down Shock

118.3

Marvellousmarg · 10/09/2017 16:04

13 to add. Less than two weeks until I run my first (and only) marathon

Seem to be getting slower and slower.

I'm also very tired.

131.3

emummy · 10/09/2017 16:31

Don't worry marg, I remember being knackered 2 weeks before and gradually feeling better after that.
10k race today, was great fun. Forest trails, then mud, then big steep muddy hill then nearly blown over on exposed hill top, then another big hill up to a Cairn then whee all the way down to the finish! No medal but a bar of tablet on the finish line and copious amounts of cake. Also greeted by a piper at the finish. Loved it! And got my goal of under 70 minutes, did 66 I think, which for 600 ft of climb is fine by me.
