The newsest thread for all runners to chat and keep track of their miles. Everyone welcome for support, guidance and general running talk including very important kit choices Wink

Well done emummy

Long slow morning run - a bit warm

Hot one today. Did 16 miles along the sea front today (visiting family).

Thankfully there are loads of toilets and drinking water taps. Running pace was actually alright (av 8:55) but I did have two extra stops than anticipated for various.

Also just realised I'll be on my period the day of my marathon which is likely to mean toilet stops required which will impact time. Any tips for dealing with this?

Well done emummy and 36plus

Marvellousmarg · 29/08/2017 18:22

Well done emummy bet Aberdeen would've been hilly!

I did a slow 20 miles yesterday. Glad I went out at 6am as it got really warm.

Can't believe I did that distance with no medal at the end! My blister is enormous. My legs are pretty dead today.

One more long one then tapering starts. Thank god!

Mooncups are great when running.

ClimbingPenguin · 01/09/2017 21:12

I use a moon cup, more true gastro issues😕

Easy 6 miles (except for one short segment where I stop a record 😄)

Steady run this morning in beautiful sunshine. Getting a bit nippy in the mornings though, I even wore my sleeves for the first time in months.

Cantseethewoods · 02/09/2017 10:12

Hi. Sorry I disappeared for ages. Long story short, I had epic issues with my left hip again and then with my left hamstring. Discovered it was foot related because my bunions are forcing my weight onto the outside of my foot. Saw the consultant and am getting a double bunion correction using the no-break (syndesmosis )method later this month, so basically, hardly been running and been too depressed about it to post.

Anyway, long term it should resolve a lot of issues but rehab is 6 months. Will be back next year. In the meantime, happy running y'all!!

MyBlackCat · 02/09/2017 12:04

Get well soon cantseethewoods

Tail walked my 100th parkrun today but it still counts right?

I'm gutted as I've come down with a heavy cold and I have a 10k tomorrow. Not sure if I should go and try to run hard, run easy or just stay in bed? 🙁

ClimbingPenguin · 02/09/2017 17:17

Sorry to hear that cantsee hope your recovery is not too frustrating. Are you able to do other exercise?

Me and DD(7) did park run for the first time today. She didn't get sub 30 mins but her pace was 9:56 min/mile. Amazing how much time that extra 0.1 mile makes.
