The newsest thread for all runners to chat and keep track of their miles. Everyone welcome for support, guidance and general running talk including very important kit choices Wink

If you don't mind posting where you'll be Whowouldfardelsbear then perhaps people here might have suggestions. Or try searching on 'MapMyRun'

Whowouldfardelsbear · 02/07/2017 10:03

I'll be mainly in Glasgow and Ashbourne - ill have a look at map my run - good idea!

emummy · 03/07/2017 12:33

You could also look on the park run page, I know there are a few in Glasgow.

1st run for 5 days as cold finally receding. Short easy pace, felt lovely!

August hm is brave MyBlackCat! I'm already regretting my early August 10k as it was hideously hot last year!

Good news emummy!

Last nights very hot sticky run and a lovely fresh run this morning 29.75

A couple of buggy runs over the past two days.

cinnamon I don't mind the heat as long as it's not too hot, got a 10k Sunday, if it's below 20 degrees it will hopefully be ok Smile

A couple of short gentle runs testing the leg. I've been doing lots of stretches and hoping for longish run this weekend without needing to stop

Lovely hilly forest run in the sunshine this morning, testing out my new trail shoes - hurray for birthday money! They were great, very comfy and no slipping on rocks or mud so very pleased. Took it easy as the last bits of the cold are still hanging around. And today is our wedding anniversary so off out later for a romantic lunch for 5!

What have you got this time emummy? I went with your recommendation last time and loved them, close to needing a new pair but was thinking I'd go with the same.

parkrun and there to add, walked back this week with one of my customers who started parkrun a couple of months ago. This week she said she hoped to beat 50mins as she was dead on last week and she just dipped under 47 so brilliant!! 56.65

Well done to your customer cinnamon, that's a great improvement!
I have gone with a pair of Innov8 X Claws this time. They have the same wide toe box as my roclites but a tougher upper - my roclites have a couple of holes! They are also a bit more cushioned I think. They were great today, v comfy and stuck to everything.

stilllearnin · 09/07/2017 08:31

I'm back from my holiday. I missed the children. DD has decided not to go back to school and ds has his first gig for around 15 months this weekend - a new sound and he is hanging in there but stressed. So I fielded many phone calls. Managed to more or less keep to my HM plan while away and I have 15.1 miles to add from last week. Too hungover to run today but I have to lose weight and so should be back on it tomorrow.

71.75??

pudding24 · 09/07/2017 08:46

13.5 miles to add for this week - highest ever weekly total for me and nice and symbolic that it's a HM and I'm training for one Smile

85.25

ClimbingPenguin · 09/07/2017 09:27

Did 8 miles today. Appreciate I was lucky that I returned to my training program on an easy week.

Leg seemed ok if a bit stiff. Seeing a physio on Tuesday anyway for a general session.

Was 20oC at 7am this morning here. 😮

Nice easy run this morning, no knee pain so happy with that.
Great running pudding and Climbing.
Hope it will all work out for the children still. Glad you have been able to keep the running going.

MyBlackCat · 09/07/2017 14:31

parkrun and a 10k race today with a shiny new PB. Getting slowly closer to a sub 50 10km - was on target for first 4 miles then blew up a bit Confused I'll get there soon 🤞

103.5

emummy · 11/07/2017 09:37

Well done MyBlackCat! Can't imagine ever running a sub 50 10k!
Track session this morning, glad there was no one else there as the effects of the cold meant I needed 3 tissues after every rep! Legs felt good though and I kept to my target pace so happy with that. Now off to entertain the dds for the day - 12 and 14 and they don't get on well, it could all end in tears...

cinnamongreyhound · 11/07/2017 12:30

Well done pudding24!

Great running MyBlackCat!

Good luck emummy, my ds's are getting to the point now when they argue more than they're friends Sad 10 and almost 7.

Didn't add my tiny run from Sunday 108.6

More detail cinnamon! Interesting in a good way?
GOod fast run in the sunshine this morning, wore new vest, v comfy. Now shower, walk dog & field dcs' "what are we doing today?" questions!

MyBlackCat · 15/07/2017 19:13

parkrun and a warm up this morning, not got out so much this week 🙁

cinnamongreyhound · 16/07/2017 08:34

Not really emummy! The people I usually run with were all busy but a lady from my canicross club wanted company so we went together. She was nearly 10mins late to meet me, stopped for a wee, insisted on walking some as she was worried her (fit, healthy 18mo) dog wouldn't cope with the distance, then stopped for a poo and then she got it in her car to go home and I got soaked in a torrential downpour! Was out of the house for 1hr 20 in the end to do 5 miles Confused

Have weds and Thursday am and parkrun to add as well 139.5

Oh dear cinnamon! Sounds interesting indeed!
Nice steady run in sunshine today, increased length by a mile and leg wasn't sore so hopefully all these strength sessions are doing some good.
