Thank you penguun I have a free holiday in Cornwall to look forward to, so you know, mustn't grumble Grin!!! I would love to take dd if she's not in school but it's v unlikely. I'm off out for an early interval session in a bit. You're going great...are you training for something (sorry a bit out of the loop) or just riding the momentum?

stilllearnin · 14/06/2017 08:42

3.86 to add. My pace is appalling even though it was intervals. I am medication which has made me gain weight so that isnt helping!!

Good luck with that ClimbingPenguin!

Sounds positive stilllearnin, the room may not make any difference.

Canicross run Monday, normal Tuesday social run and run with my friend this morning. She's now back to 4 miles at close to previous pace after her op in march Grin 276.55

A half-arsed 3 miles to add tonight. Kept getting overtaken by loooong-legged men. They look like they're making so little effort, but going so much faster than me! Hmph.

a 3.2 from me tonight.

Toenail dilemma! Any toenail experts out there please advise . . .

My black toenail from my last hm has just started to peel off and come away. I have a half marathon on Sunday. What do I do with toenail? Do i pull it off, tape it up or just leave it?

emummy · 15/06/2017 14:49

I usually leave mine till they come off, they provide a splint for the new nail underneath. Tape it if it is catching on your socks.

stilllearnin · 15/06/2017 15:56

Can you get to a podiatrist? I had mine snipped off around three quarters...blissSmile

Sorelip · 15/06/2017 16:29

6 to add for the week so far.

Just 2 miles from circuits to add. Decided to not do my third run this week - combination of too much other exercise this week and wanting to save myself for the race on Sunday.

The exercise lately is a combination of because I seem to be in the middle of a good spell and training. I signed up to a marathon in order to motivate myself during the summer. Past three years I ran more properly Dec to April and then stopped, starting with one or two 5kms a week from September until December again. Work pays for Reading half marathon so that makes me start in earnest at Christmas. Before that was children and before that some half hearted attempts at running. I used to live in the midlands so took advantage of climbing and walking a lot more than I am able to now.

And the second day cycling was good but combined with circuits at lunch made my clothes quite stinky and in need of a an emergency snack when I collected the children. Had to ask the staff for a piece of fruit 😳

MyBlackCat · 15/06/2017 19:43

Five miles with the buggy around a local country park - was very breezy Shock

Another early morning run from me. Glad I did as I'm not sure when I'll go again. Had some really bad news today and running always brings out tears! Ds3 will need a kidney transplant at some point in his life, they're hoping the one he's got will last until he's an adult but we won't know for sure until he's 5 and they test him. So utterly heartbroken

Oh cinnamon I'm so sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed he can stay healthy for a long time before a transplant is needed. Hugs to you all

stilllearnin · 17/06/2017 10:47

Hi cinnamon - what a lot you have on your plate. This runner is a friend of my ds. The story may be a bit much right now but basically he has had numerous transplants. Sarah is amazing and very generous (I don't know her much myself but my ds does). If you did want to contact her at any point for support or any tips I am certain it would be fine - she writes blogs and is easy to find. She runs loads of projects to help people in this kind of situation.

Whowouldfardelsbear · 18/06/2017 02:45

So sorry to hear that Cinnamon. I hope you get a transplant soon - good reminder for us all to talk to loved ones about our wishes for organ donation. We're a tranplant family too (DH has a heart transplant). It's amazing what the medical profession can do.

Well i did my half. A respectable time for me of 2:18 and a beautiful morning for a run around the wellington coast. Here's a not very good pic taken showing the sea and sun.

Well done Whowould, a very respectable time indeed! Beautiful picture. Glad it went well.
Slow run this morning, 21 degrees at 7 am! In Aberdeenshire! Hence why it was slow. Very nice until knee got sore in last mile

Just 6.2 miles to add, but it was the very hilly, very hot relay race today. Time was not at all what I was hoping but that's the way it goes I guess
