Well done Penguin.

Just adding yesterday's run, 6.3 miles @ 8.22 ave mm. Hilly route.

321.45 (including the 17 miles).

nodramaforthellama · 26/04/2017 22:53

Training run today and managed to pick up the pace and get into 4-5 minute splits! My legs ache!

327.45

nodramaforthellama · 26/04/2017 22:54

Obviously my splits are in km.. I'm no elite athlete.

emummy · 27/04/2017 12:02

Short run in the woods and the rain with dog. Left leg got a bit sore again so time for some more rest

329.95

cinnamongreyhound · 27/04/2017 17:40

Very fast canicross run Monday and skipped Tuesday as I hosted a jamberry party (very cool nail stuff) so went last night. Skipped today as I feel pants with a cold and it's ds1's birthday so I needed to be back promptly for present opening. Was thinking I might go tomorrow morning but I feel worse today so maybe not! 336.5

Out with a learn to run group tonight as a Marshall. Found a nice route near my house that I never even knew existed. *

Some parkrun tourism and the mile I missed off yesterday's buggy run Smile

needastrongone · 29/04/2017 14:30

6 from yesterday with a friend, easy paced 8.39 mm.

Park run plus warm up from today. Park run result was 21.25, which was 6.46 mm.

wowsers needastrongone - is that a PB?!

I am not up to date at all, so sorry to all, but I am getting back out there (was too anxious to leave the house alone!) and I have 2 miles from yesterday and 5 from today.

needastrongone · 29/04/2017 18:06

Hi Still, it's not sadly no. I was quite a competitive runner but have been out with injury long term for 6 years! Just started back in September.

But look, a mile is a mile is a mile and the fact any of us lace up our trainers and get out there, whatever the pace is bloody fabSmile

Cantseethewoods · 30/04/2017 07:43

15k (ish) trail race today. It was crazy hot- I felt like an ant under a microscope up on the ridges. Managed a second place (won the vets) albeit slower than last year and in a very thin field as we have a triple BH here M-W next week so a lot of people are away. I basically won my entry fee back in vouchers which is always nice.

emummy · 30/04/2017 08:53

Great result Cantsee, especially in that weather. Enjoy spending your vouchers!

needastrongone · 30/04/2017 14:02

Well run indeed Cant, great result, especially in the weather.

Sociable 9 miles with a group from the club. Gently paced 10.02mm

402.

ClimbingPenguin · 30/04/2017 15:30

Relatively gentle 8 miles this morning with a friend (8:45 mm pace). Well technically it was slower as I took a comfort break. Any tips on managing morning runs?

Did a few the other day, but it was intervals, stretches, outdoor gym stuff so don't know total mileage. Both me and DH have been travelling this week so very little activity. Planning on joining a running club on Thursday. Slightly nervous

ClimbingPenguin · 30/04/2017 15:41

The 8 miles meant I didn't rerun the 17.

My right foot arch has been hurting. Also struggling with hard skin on that foot. Didn't realise how uncomfortable it could be. Guessing I need to buy some new shoes. Any good sites for foot care would be appreciated though.

Cantseethewoods · 01/05/2017 04:19

Penguin Google "Shanghai pedicure" and see if there's anyone local to you who will do them - it basically means someone taking the chiropody blade to your feet. Is the only thing that truly solves the hard skin (which is dead so no amount of moisturising will fix it). However, most "cosmetic pedicure" places won't use blades anymore. Fortunately for me I live in HK so can get my hooves trimmed regularly Grin. Re.foot arch, try getting a ball (tennis or baseball) and then roll your foot over it till you find the sensitive bits and then roll it around to loosen it up.

Just 5 to add from an out and back gym commute. May 1 so switched over to summer training- less running, more gym work.

I didn't run much in April - possibly the school hols throwing me off routine?

So to round off that month for me 420.88

But, I've signed up for a 10k in a month, and a half next year, so I really do need to add one longer runs (I have run 10k about 3 times just for fun when a whim took me to keep going, but I now need to be more sure I can do it often)

emummy · 01/05/2017 09:21

Slow run/walk with the dog, avoided all hills. Hamstring still a bit achy, the rest of me feels much better!

Cantseethewoods · 02/05/2017 03:27

emummy have you tried rolling and stretching it? I find if I roll the bit behind the knee (sort of where I think it must join on) with a hard roller (aka cricket ball) that can help.

Hill training purgatory this morning. 2hrs 30 to do 10.6km of 1231m D+. It was hot. It was too early. I thought about taxis many many times Grin.
