I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

Gah, just realised what an essay that was Blush

I just got running shoes roastie. I know Tony says not to, but I don't have time to go to a sports shop so I just bought exactly the same brand as I already have on Amazon (Asics cumulus). They've been fine so far. When you run you're told to get new shoes every 500miles so practically speaking that's a pair a year minimum so prob should be something similar for workout DVDs too.

I've done p90x3. I didn't get great results in terms of looking different but I got stronger. I think you get the best benefit if you've got a good enough variety of Dumbbells to make sure you're challenging yourself. I only have 2,4 and 8kg and I think I'd have done better if I'd had 6 and a kettle bell too. No way does it give the same results as p90x tho (not that I've actually done p90x). I also did a max30/p90x3 hybrid which was great - I just alternated days. Would also work to just substitute p90x3 cardio which is too easy with max30.

I'm loving 22hc but I've done it as doubles. Resistance 2 is the Michael Jackson one. You and poppy are bloody hardcore if you 'enjoyed' it. It killed me. Am determined to do it again and get better at it.

Did insanity pure cardio today. Can anyone on here get thru the whole thing with no breaks. I can't get past frog jumps. I can't imagine what a shock to the system that workout is on day 1 of a fitness program Shock

I bet I've written an essay too!

EleanorAbernathy · 07/07/2016 18:05

Hello - pleased to report I've been good foodwise and workoutwise all week! :)
I started with a 7 mile walk on Monday, then T25 Core Cardio Tuesday, a 6 mile walk and Speed 2.0 yesterday, and I've just done the whole of NMTZ without dying half way like last week! Grin

For trainers - I wear proper running shoes if I'm running outside, and racing flats (which are a lot cheaper) from indoor stuff including the treadmill.

Purple Pure Cardio was my nemesis workout when I was doing Insanity, probably because it was in the hottest part of the year! I found the whole of month 2 easy in comparison !

RoastieToastieReastie · 07/07/2016 20:44

Eleanor well done on your virtuous week

Purple I'm definitely not hardcore! It's more resistance 2 I prefer the moves than the other resistance workouts. I used to do that one in the gym. Insanity pure cardio is one of my favourite insanity workouts, but I have low expectations in that I know I will break frequently and never keep going all the way through non stop. I also modify a few moves. I love the feeling of dripping in sweat lying on the floor at the end of the workout feeling like you've really worked hard and got through it. Amazing high when I do that one when I haven't done it in ages.

Well, just got back from prize giving where I work and [hopes I don't give my rl identity away] the guest speaker was non other than a double Olympic winning Dame (bet you can guess who from that). She was so inspirational and had the most incredible arm muscles ever.

Yay some posts on here again! Was quiet for a couple of days and I wondered whether you'd all disappeared to a Jilian Michaels thread!!

I bet you're glowing with virtuous-ness Eleanor!

Am glad it's not just me with pure cardio then. Awful day at work yesterday so needed a good hard work out to blow off some steam. Did max out power (the tabata max30 one) and it didn't quite fit the bill. Too many press ups and not enough jumping around, punching, kicking and sweating profusely. Mind you I guess that's what your double Olympian does to get those amazing arms roastie.

yumyumpoppycat · 08/07/2016 10:29

Roastie your work sounds very interesting!

Impressive week of workouts eleanor

Purple Grin re gillian thread. Well done on exercising after a tough day at work. I was bad yest, instead of exercising after work like planned we all went out for tea and dp and I shared a bottle of wine and desert with ours.

Worked out this morning so no chance of calling it off in the eve but defo found it harder on an empty tum. Did chalean Push 2 (weights).

Have a great weekend everyone!

onlywhenyouleave · 08/07/2016 11:54

Yay, everyone is back Smile

roastie I love toned arms...I think they are awesome and, for some reason, so hard to achieve!

I knew I spoke too soon in my last post about not missing an early morning workout...alarm went off this morning and DH persuaded me to stay in bed instead Wink I am going to have to do my workout after work instead which could be tricky depending on where the tennis is up to as I want to watch that aswell. Haven't got time to catch up at the weekend and I don't want to go off schedule now! Seemed a good idea at the time Grin

Purpleraindeer · 08/07/2016 17:32

Grin at only!

Just did max out sweat. I LOVE that workout. Am buzzing now. And nicely knackered

yumyumpoppycat · 08/07/2016 18:22

also Grin nudge nudge wink wink Only!

Purple hi five, defo agree with those saying shaun T is the best for workouts that boost the endorphins or whatever the feel good effect is.

onlywhenyouleave · 08/07/2016 20:51

Well as I expected, the tennis coincided with my exercise time and watching tennis won Blush

RoastieToastieReastie · 09/07/2016 10:46

Grr, stupid rubbish internet connection. Was half way through insanity max Friday fight 1 this morning on the secret site and the Internet connection kept going so I had to give up and put on t25 speed 3. So annoyed. I suppose at least I did a little longer doing both those than I had planned.

Something to think about from double gold Olympian athlete speech at my work; she said it's not the case that you only live once. You only die once but you live every single day. Think about it and it's a great motivator if we've slipped and can't be bothered to get back into it or don't want the effort etc.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 09/07/2016 20:45

I channelled that sentiment today roastie. Couldn't be bothered with a workout but then felt too bad about just flaking out especially given that my new trainers arrived today. They're very bouncy! Did hc22 resistance 3. Am not sure it was a good work out as it was a bit hard and I couldn't keep up. That lying down on the floor and standing up thing was awful.

You've made me think of Friday fight, so might do that tomorrow. That's so annoying about the Internet crashing. Well done for persevering - I might have been tempted to give it up.

RoastieToastieReastie · 09/07/2016 20:58

Purple I HATED the stand up lie down one. I also found resistance 3 challenging and didn't feel like I necessarily got a lot from it as it was a bit tough for me (so in the nicest way possible I'm glad it's not just me!).

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 09/07/2016 21:59

My dd enjoyed shouting stand up, lie down at me. She then said why are you not getting up mummy when I took a break. That was the opposite of motivational!

onlywhenyouleave · 10/07/2016 10:39

Not sure what the 'stand up lie down'
exercise is but it always amazes me how hard it is to get up and down off the floor. Instinctively I always think those type of exercises will be easy but they are SO hard!

Just did a Body Attack workout for the first time in over 6 months. I absolutely LOVE body attack and has always been my favourite gym class. Found a fab one (great music!) on the secret site. Thought it would be interesting to see how my cardiovascular fitness has been impacted by doing shorter, HIIT type training. I used to be able to do the whole class without modifying (at my fittest) and this morning, I managed the first 4 tracks fine (including the plyo one which I have always struggled with Smile but I did flag at the end of the second block of aerobic tracks and had to do a few low impact moves (not many). So, not too bad Smile

I can only find this one video on the secret site (fortunately it is my absolute fave one ever!) and they don't do attack workouts on the demand website for some reason so I will just throw it in occasionally.

Purpleraindeer · 10/07/2016 19:56

Only that's great. You've been working out consistently for months now so I bet you're loads fitter. You should do a few more of your old faves and see whether any of your nemesis moves are now easy....

I wimped out today and did plyo circuits (mth 1 insanity) rather than Friday fight. Was on my feet all day out with the kids and just couldn't face it. Did better than the bloke in it who gets so tired he sits down on the benches at the side of the gym. I always think that's bloody lazy. If I knew I was being filmed I'd at least try to stay upright!

Hope you all had a good day

onlywhenyouleave · 10/07/2016 20:48

There is only this one body attack video on the secret site so am stuck with that unless there are other videos knocking about on the Internet somewhere??

I can't believe that someone sits down during a workout when they know they are being filmed Shock I would also at least try to stay standing Grin

onlywhenyouleave · 12/07/2016 20:08

Where has everyone gone? Sad

Purpleraindeer · 12/07/2016 20:48

I'm here! Friday fight for me tonight. The window in my living room steamed up as I got so hot and sweaty Shock.

Hope everyone comes back soon Smile

yumyumpoppycat · 12/07/2016 22:57

Hi Only, Roastie and Purple well done keeping on. I am not 100% on it at the mo but did chalean push phase 3 workout yest, in push phase the reps go down from 12 to 8 but weight is supposed to increase, problem is weights are so blinkin expensive that I havent got round to buying more so still on 3kg, 6kg and occasionally single 8kg. Chalean was wearing really weird pleather exercise boots, and said 'I will probably really regret wearing these in 5 years but right now they are the height of fashion' {ahem}

Hope everyone else is ok

yumyumpoppycat · 12/07/2016 22:59

PS crikey Purple thats what happens when I put wet laundry on the radiators, you must have been working REALLY hard

RoastieToastieReastie · 13/07/2016 12:20

Hi all, still plugging away here. Did p90x back and biceps and pump core workout yesterday and today did piyo sweat. Have DD home for the summer now so difficult to workout and will have to swap to 30 minute workouts during the week to allow me to get anything done.

I have a question. Do any of you see stars when working out? I never used to experience this ever but in the past year or so I've noticed it happens relatively often. Not related to low blood sugar and tends to happen either when lifting weights or a stand up get down type exercise (like a burpee). I always panic when I happens as it reminds me of the start of a migraine . I feel like in the past I have pushed myself harder and not had this happen so why does it happen now. All I can think is maybe my resting heart rate is lower than it used to be as I'm fitter (I need to check this but I think lying down doing nothing it could easily be 60 or slightly less) which might cause it? Would be interested if anyone else gets this.

Purple I am amazed by the steaming Windows, that has never happened to me!!

OP posts:
onlywhenyouleave · 13/07/2016 21:35

roastie that does not sound great tbh, maybe you need to go and get checked out?

Just seen a link for these...I want some (for when I am a size 12 obviously Grin)

Beachbody thread 4 (P90X, Insanity, T25 etc)
Purpleraindeer · 13/07/2016 21:49

Roastie - I'd advise docs too. Might just be a head rush when the blood rushes to your head? Or blood pressure? But I'd get it checked. Ages ago i said on here I went to docs because I was feeling breathless. They were really good and took it seriously even tho I assumed I was going to be told to stop making a fuss.

Poppy I just looked at Chalenes boots. Omg. They were NEVER in style. Shock

Did hc22 resistance 3 then resistance 1 tonight. Knackered now. Both felt a bit more manageable second time tho. DH said he thinks I'm looking a bit too muscly. Sad. I might have to stop wearing my crop top to work out so I don't scare him!

onlywhenyouleave · 13/07/2016 21:56

Wow, just had a look at those boots Shock she must have been wearing them as a bet!! They look like wrestling footwear to me and even wrestlers don't workout in boots like that (dedicated WWE household here Blush Grin)
