I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

Feel better soon Purple - I always feel generally crap before coming down with anything more definite, it's almost a relief when I realise I'm actually ill and not just crap!

I did Speed 2.0 yesterday - I've decided I really like that workout, it flies by in no time at all and always gives me a great calorie bur. - although the music is just SLIGHTLY too fast for me to keep up with if I want my form to be good!

I've treated myself to a pull-up bar with an assistance band thingy - not tried it yet, but what with Boobz being all hardcore and then Terminator 2 being on the other night I want to be able to do that! Grin

Having a rest day today as having the bedroom plastered and I don't want the plasterers to see me jumping around all red faced and sweaty. Normal service shall resume tomorrow :)

Purpleraindeer · 28/06/2016 21:33

Exciting about the pull up bar Eleanor. You'll be Sarah Connor before you know it.

Gave 22 hard corps a go tonight. I did cardio 1 and didn't find it too challenging so then decided to do cardio 2 as well - eek. That felt tougher. Gorilla crawls are evil. I really enjoyed it tho and felt like I got a properly hard workout in 44mins. The military thing was a bit gimicky but the workout was fun. Will try some more of them later in the week.

Boobz · 28/06/2016 22:39

DH arrives tomorrow to see the houses.

Did Barry's on Monday and again today - I am in bits! But I love it so have also booked in for tomorrow (mad woman) as am out to dinner tomorrow so want to be able to fill my boots at posh restaurant.

Good news about pull up bar Eleanor!

Sorry you've been poorly Purple.

RoastieToastieReastie · 29/06/2016 20:35

Boobz hope dh likes the right house! I've never heard of Barry's boot camp but I'm now about to google.

Purple I HATE the gorilla crawls too! Well done on doubling it up.

Yoga today and legs tomorrow. Bit hectic so may see if there's a p90x3 leg workout I can do in place to save a bit of time but not give up the workout.

Seeing physio on Friday to see about my arm/neck thing, fingers crossed I get a bit of an answer to help it finally heal.

OP posts:
RoastieToastieReastie · 29/06/2016 20:46

Change of plan, seems p90x3 doesn't have dedicated legs so I think I'll try body beast legs and then their abs workout to give it a go (I know p90x gives great results etc but I'm just getting a bit bored of the same workouts now six weeks in and can't face legs and back and my most hated ab ripper tomorrow). I watched a bit of it as I've never done it before and I'm quite scared by the size of the presenter man, and that he says I'll be quadzilla with huge legs, I don't want huge legs! How hard core is it? Confused

EleanorAbernathy · 29/06/2016 21:40

Well done on the workouts Roastie and Boobz - would love to try a Barry's if there was one near me.

I've been crap today, I think it's my turn to come down with something
Sad

I attempted NMTZ, started off OK but when I got to the tricep circuit I was feeling so rough that for the second half I just lay on the floor doing skull crushers instead of the compound moves! I then bravely attempted the next one (abs ) and must about made it - then switched off the DVD flbefore the last one as I was a trembling sweaty weakling by this point! I've always said I've never felt WORSE after a workout - today was a first. Glad I managed most of it though.

Here's hoping it's a short lurgy that doesn't get much worse - am off on a hen weekend Friday and hoping to be able to dance to make up for not working out! Grin

EleanorAbernathy · 29/06/2016 21:41

Scuse the typos, I'm ill Blush

Boobz · 30/06/2016 07:14

Can barely move my right arm after 3 Barry's in 3 days... but appear to have booked myself into the 4th in 4 days starting in about an hour...

And then DH and I fly back together tonight to Rome to then drive all day tomorrow as part of our trip to France, so there will be no work out tomorrow, so am making the most of the opportunity now!

And we ate out last night - I didn't overeat but certainly too much wine and more than 800 Kcals!

Purpleraindeer · 30/06/2016 08:30

I hope it's a short lurgy Eleanor. It's rubbish being ill.

Roastie - do keep us posted on whether you've turned into a quadzilla (good word!) overnight!

Boobz - 4 in 4?! You're a glutton for punishment. They are great workouts tho. Better to enjoy the meal/wine when you're out than agonise over the cal content. I read a really depressing thing about new restaurants starting up which cater especially to people on a super healthy diet so only serve really healthy gluten free/dairy free/low cal meals. I didn't get the point - if I wanted to eat like that id stay at home!

No workout for me last night as was feeling grim. Lots better today tho so hopefully another 22hc or even a double if I really feel good.

RoastieToastieReastie · 30/06/2016 10:28

well, body beast was very testosterone fuelled! I did a lot of the leg exercises without any weights whereas they were lifting 50 kg (I assume rather than lbs) ! But my legs feel like they've been worked out. I then did beast abs after and think I prefer it from my nemesis hatred of p90x ab ripper, so may use that instead (or it may just be that it was different to ab ripper so just gave a bit of variety). They kept going on about what huge legs I'd have doing the DVD which was a bit off putting as I don't want huge legs, but given my lack of weights I can safely say that won't be the case!

Echo that boobz is a complete glutton for punishment. I looked up Barry's boot camp online and it looks insane!

Purple and Eleanor hope you feel better super quick .

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 30/06/2016 11:53

Did you have a soundtrack of thrash metal whilst you pumped that iron roastie? Grin. Unless you've suddenly taken up steroids I don't think you need to worry about getting massive muscles - us girls can't. Altho i did notice I had v obvious biceps when I tried on a sleeveless dress yesterday and I liked it.....

If you're looking for variety in the ab workout try the max30 ab one. It's 10mins and I couldn't keep up with it even tho I found the insanity one hard but ok.

Have just done 22hc cardio 3 then resistance 1. Tony really is the king of weights work outs as resistance 1 killed me. I dread to think what 2 and 3 are like. . I sustained an injury in cardio 3 where in my haste to do the twisting ab thing I kicked myself in the shin. Ow! Idiot!

yumyumpoppycat · 30/06/2016 19:03

Purple good work on biceps!! I think I might be getting a hint of something but it seems to be emphasisng the bingo wings, making them flap down more!!! Really glad you like 22HC, it's perfect as a break between workout schedules

Well done on 4 barrys Boobz! whats happening with your house am nosey

Lol Roastie, v impressed you are trying some bodybeast.

Feel better Eleanor.

I have not been great this week, sad family news totm etc. Hoping to get back on the wagon tomorrow as I feel really lazy and low in mood.

Purpleraindeer · 01/07/2016 07:41

Sorry to hear that poppy Flowers. I hope a workout gives you a bit of a lift.

And I hear you re the bingo wings effect - I found that as my abs got tighter actually it made the flab on the top look wobblier. Shock

onlywhenyouleave · 01/07/2016 14:37

Hey everyone, I have been so busy, I haven't had a chance to post this week!

Yumy sorry you are having a rough week Flowers and Chocolate for you! It is always hard when you stop exercising for even a brief period but am sure you will get back on it again soon Smile

Boobz 4 Barry's in 4 days?? I am fairly sure I couldn't even do 1 and I am also sure they don't have modifiers in it Grin Have you bought a house yet?

Roastie love the image of quadzilla legs -I feel I need to go and watch these workouts as how hard are they that you can't even do them with weights??

Hey to everyone else Smile

I have nothing to report - still plugging away with my 5.15am workouts and 16:8 diet. The early morning workouts are definitely key as I haven't missed one in 5 weeks as I haven't got time to have that internal dialogue in my head about reasons why I can't do it (even on days when I know I have to do workouts which I am not keen on) - the alarm goes off and I literally get up and get changed before I am properly awake! I think DH is getting a bit annoyed though as I am knackered by 9pm and either keep falling asleep on the sofa in front of the football or sneaking off to bed early Blush It isn't exactly great for our relationship but I know he appreciates us both not fighting to do our exercise when we both get home from work and arguing about who is ferrying the kids around and who can exercise etc so I think he is biting his tongue about it all. Ah well, am hoping the fact we are both losing weight will invigorate our relationship anyway Hmm

Did Lower Focus this morning and I take back what I said about not getting DOMS with T25 - my bum and inner thighs are starting to hurt. Don't know what I did differently this morning (in fact, I probably did less as I just wasn't feeling it this morning).

Anyway, happy Friday all Wine

Boobz · 01/07/2016 19:42

Legs still sore after 4 in 4. But had today off as had to drive 6 hours with the kids in the car, so not only ate crap but also no exercise. Have just eaten pizza which I never do! But am going to try to be good from now on - only 20 days to the festival now.

No house news. DH likes the same one as me - but no offer on our place (thank you Brexiters) so nothing happening really. Very annoyed.

RoastieToastieReastie · 02/07/2016 19:10

Boobz are you back home now or still in uk?

Only I think most people could do all the workout with weights, I'm just puny and could do all of them weighted. My legs haven't been that strong since I stopped doing regular pump despite weekly legs with P90x.

Yumy. YES I have the same thing, teeny biceps but apparently bigger chicken wings Angry .

Purple no thrash metal! Great stuff with the toned arms. I will try the insanity max abs workout, thanks for the recommendation.

Did cardio workout today and in a hurry so did insanity max sweat intervals for first time and definitely did lots of sweating! Felt good afterwards though. I have such great energy through the day after insanity which I don't get so much with other workouts (even if I'm swearing at Shaun t during).

OP posts:
EleanorAbernathy · 03/07/2016 22:55

My strange illness went away pretty quickly by itself - but it's been a bad weekend in a good way - I've been in Wales on a hen weekend surrounded by bad food and a lot of drink!
I DID do a lot of dancing, and got my step goal every day - and although there was a DVD player there I don't think it would have gone down too well if I'd whipped out a Shaun T DVD! Grin

I'm back home now, a bit sunburned but in one piece and planning on being totally healthy and fit ALL WEEK as going to a wedding next weekend and I'll probably end up in photos!

Purpleraindeer · 04/07/2016 07:33

Sounds like a fun weekend Eleanor. No point being super disciplined all the time!

fingers crossed you get your buyer boobz

Only - well done for plugging away at the 5.15 starts. I'm impressed at that every time you mention it. I feel the same way re my exercise and it limiting time with DH. I workout in the eves. Often DH is late so makes no difference but on the odd nights he is home I then feel bad that I'm huffing and puffing away when I should/could be catching up with him. Altho he always seems pleased to get some peace and quiet so I suspect he doesn't mind.

Did plyo cardio circuit (insanity mth 1) last night and a hc22/hc22 ab workout over the weekend. I hated the ab one. I think it was Tracy the perfect lady from p90x3 with the 6 kids who was in it. She irrationally irritates me. Really liked the plyo one tho and my shoulders are aching this am which must be good. Am going to brave another of the hc22 resistance workouts tonight.

Enjoy the sunshine all!

RoastieToastieReastie · 04/07/2016 15:51

Dds sports day today so there most of today so only time for a hc22 cardio 3. Better than nothing. I also entered in the mothers race at sports day :) I was actually really surprised by the callibre of how fast they all were, but I wasn't last (definitely not first either though by a long shot). In my defence I was in sandals and a skirt... I told myself five years ago I was size 22 and heading towards 18 stone and would have been out of breath walking so I've come along way and I certainly never thought then I'd be size 12 and willingly joining in the race.

Eleanor glad you were better for your week end and that you had fun.

Purple I find Tracey too perfect too and I recognise her from a DVD I'm sure but I haven't done p90x3 yet so maybe I recognise her from p90x2.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 04/07/2016 23:35

Sounds fun Eleanor Grin

Purple I am not a fan of that abs workout with tracey yelling out stuff either! I dont mind her in p90x3 but totally with you on 22HC.

Well done Roastie on joining in with sports day, I bet your dd was delighted. huge disadvantage wearing sandals, even my nippy dd can't run fast in sandals!

So annoying about Brexit Boobz, fingers crossed it will all work out and the house you want is available when you have had an offer.

I did chalean push 1 today and feel a lot better for finally having done a workout.

Purpleraindeer · 05/07/2016 06:23

I love the post workout feeling too poppy - am glad it helped.

Did 22hc cardio 1 then resistance 2. Holy crap - resistance 2 was haard. I couldn't keep up with his count. Wow. What an effective workout.

And in major and momentous news, I have finally linked having shin splints with my trainers being too old when I realised that they were substantially older than DD who is 3. So have just ordered some amazing new ones (in hot pink!) from Amazon. No, they're not court shoes like Tony horton says, but I have no idea what court shoes are but they look so fun how could they be wrong..... Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 05/07/2016 10:23

ooh trainer link Purple Grin ..I had a similar thing pain in the arches of my feet which went when I changed my trainers for new ones. I quite liked resistance 2, will be interesting to see what you make of resistance 3 I found it a bit weird and hard but no pullups!

I did burn intervals which I quite liked, technically a rest day but at home as our 3 dc's teachers are on strike so took advantage for a non rushed workout.
.

Boobz · 05/07/2016 16:50

Am in France now and managing to do Max Cardio Conditioning every day, but am also eating way too much! Argh!

yumyumpoppycat · 05/07/2016 19:43

Enjoy Boobz I thought french wine, croissants and charcuterie were supposed to be zero cals anyway ;) problem with BSD is that weight can appear to go back on super quick but it goes back down once you get back to it for a few days.

RoastieToastieReastie · 05/07/2016 20:51

Boobz is your version of eating way too much actually alot though compared to my chomping ? I hope it's because you're having such a great time and I'm glad you're being laid back on the food front whilst there. I hope you're enjoying all the delicious food and not feeling guilty.

Interesting about trainers. There was a Tony DVD where he said don't use running shoes as they will wreck you with plyo (I think, don't hold me to that) which really confuses me and makes me worried I'm in the wrong trainers. I go to a running shop where they hook me onto a treadmill to see how my feet walk to counterbalance it with the right trainer and I say I do plyo/different types of workouts and I just hope they pick a good one. I remember buying a new pair of trainers as a treat for myself once I'd lost a bit of weight and went to a local sports shop and the man in the shop sniggered when I said my trainers were over five years old Angry .

Purple is resistance 2 the one with the Michael Jackson man and crunch punch? If so I think that was my favourite resistance workout. Resistance 3 I really hated (it may just be me though. It's the one exercise where you have to lie down flat and then stand up. It sounds so easy so why did I find it so hard!) but I really like cardio 3.

Today I struggled through work not feeling on form and came back and nearly missed a workout as I felt I needed a rest but forced myself to do a p90x3 lower workout which I figured was better than nothing even if not so good as p90x legs. It was a good workout but I just feel like a fraud that it's so quick. At least insanity max I somehow feel like I've earnt the finish with all the sweat and calories burnt a bit more. Has anyone done p90x3? I think I'm going to do it for the next month or so over summer holidays as DD will not allow me to do minimum an hour six times a week. I'm wondering how results differ from p90x though so if anyone can advice if it's comparable/likely to give good results for just 30 minutes a day. I am seeing results with p90x (nearing end of month 2) muscle wise whereas hc22 I maintained fitness but I don't think it was a particularly effective program for me. Maybe I should do a p90x3 and insanity max hybrid.
