I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

Plan looks brill roman - very organised, am impressed.

Rest day for me, I am glad, not 100% sure what hip flexors are but I think they are what's hurting.

Purpleraindeer · 13/01/2017 11:32

Seconded re the organisation of that schedule roman - I love it. Might steal it!

Impromptu rest day yesterday after it took me 3hrs to drive home from work due to snow! Made up for it today and did p90x3 isometrix. Was basically just holding yoga poses and some were absolutely impossible so it must have done me good. Weird to do a workout which was knackering but not sweaty.

Hope you're all staying warm

yumyumpoppycat · 13/01/2017 12:35

Purple 3 hours gah! no snow here - my 6yo and 9yos are so upset, ds 11 is not bothered I think he was worried about being pumelled on way home from school!

Weird with yoga I was quite achy after my lesson. I did total boy chisel today - quite a decent workout I was willing it to finish by the end. I used step, ball, 9 and 12lb weights.

Reastie · 13/01/2017 14:38

Hi all,

Disappointing yesterday as due to have a run butforgot to charge phone and it was out of battery so did insanity max cardio challenge. TBH I was mentally set up for a run so not in the zone for insanity and it felt really really hard work. Today I did 21 day fix 30 min abs workout and it was great, will definitely be a go to workout. Felt like it was tough but modified where needed and didn't feel too impossible like other ab workouts do (I have a rubbish core). I liked the initial bits standing up too.

Snow here too, dd has a snow day today and it beyond excited. Going to make hot chocolates in a minute for her and dh and play a board game around the fire.

Purple I think I remember that workout. You just hold poses for a minute and get really sweaty whilst staying still. I quite like that one as it's really tough at the time despite not actually moving.

Thermo that schedule is ace.

Theromanempire · 13/01/2017 19:33

reastie the 21df abs fix is one of my faves apart from the bonus round which hurt so much I may stop the workout at that point Blush

I like the sound of that yoga workout but haven't got space in my schedule Grin Grin

Did Lower fix today - I am definitely in the zone at the moment as I am not making excuses not to work out like I was doing before Christmas. First full week at work and my fatigue hasn't returned - fingers crossed it stays like this.

disappointed101 · 13/01/2017 21:02

Hello fixers...lots of fixing going on! MMA power for me today. 12 rounds 47 minutes. The toughest one so far cardio wise. I really liked it. It is tough at the beginning when you are only on round two and realise you still have 10 rounds. To be honest, I'm looking forward to finishing the programme. I will finish because I want my t shirt! 💪🏼
Will be doing p90x2 after this. I've had it lying around for a while. Bought it in a flash sale last year.
How is everyone with their nutrition? A lot of the beachbody programmes come now with the container system a la 21 day fix. I always end up on the lowest bracket because I am a short arse and at goal weight.
How do you guys go with nutrition? I am generally pretty good but can go a bit mad on crap sometimes...cake and chocolate being my weaknesses. I have not touched since before Christmas though. I don't want to feel like on a constant diet though. How often do you have treats? Sorry for the essay but nutrition is the thing I find hardest.

Purpleraindeer · 14/01/2017 18:56

Glad you're feeling more energetic roman. Must be good to be feeling more 'yourself' again

Disappointed - 47mins of mma sounds like a marathon. Well done! I've never actually thought of trying to get the tshirt. I always wonder whether they really do send it out. Re diet - mine used to be good but I'm not watching it so much at the moment. In general I try to eat a lot of protein (read thinner leaner stronger and it said for my weight etc I should be eating 110g per day which is loads). To do that and not eat a million calories I have to eat quite low carb. I have been through periods of logging all on mfp but now It's more habit. I just have normal food but never have the potato/bread/rice etc. And also don't have much sweet stuff. I don't particularly deny myself anything tho, so today I ate a massive pizza!

Was supposed to be doing agility x today but substituted for asylum speed and agility. Shock had forgotten that one is a bit of a beast! Managed to do the skipping bit properly for the first time so was pleased but I can't say I really nailed the rest of the work out. It is haaaaard. Am enjoying a nice sit down now!

Have a good evening all!

Reastie · 14/01/2017 19:48

Purple that's my favourite asylum workout (but have never nailed it).

I've never applied for a tshirt either but have always wanted to then scared off that you have to sign waiver for photos to be used for advertising purposes and got scared off that there might be really unflattering pictures of me for everyone to see (I'm a teacher and really don't fancy the teenagers I teach having my huge stomach to laugh at).

Did p90x3 isometrix today after I think it was purple that did it this week. I wanted to go for a run but too much snow and ice around still and had done a fair bit of cardio this week and since I can't really do weights I thought this was a good option. Hoping for a run tomorrow assuming the worst of the ice has thawed.

Re eating, I've never followed a bb diet or recipe plan but I have a very specific special diet and am so limited. I don't eat anything with sugar apart from fresh fruit and small amounts of dried fruit and have managed this for a year and a half now. I find it easier for me than limiting sugary foods as I can't portion control so to not have any is actually much better and I don't crave it any more, For snacks I have fruit, nuts (especially almonds), rice cakes and peanut butter (the sort that's just nuts and no added stuff), and plain yoghurt. I don't but low fat diet stuff as it tends to have so many additives and stuff done to it so I prefer to have the full fat stuff which I find keeps me fuller for longer anyway. I make a lot of homemade soup and have this for dinner every day along with a piece of biona millet bread which is an acquired taste but doesn't have yeast and I feel like it's healthy. I make my own muesli which has oats, quinoa flakes, almonds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, flaked almonds, and sultanas and I bulk it out to make it look like I'm eating more with plain puffed brown rice. I eat a lot and I eat very regularly and a lot of snacks but what I do eat is good and generally unprocessed but I eat too many potatoes. I would like to reduce what I eat but I really struggle with hunger. I'm no slim Minnie (size 12) but compared to where I was (size 22) for me this is acceptable. I'd like to lose more in an ideal world but the main aim is to stay healthy and maintain where I am. I find bulking out meals with vegetables is a good way to feel fuller and I have small plates and bowls which make me think I'm having more than I am and more importantly limit portion as I will always fill the plate/bowl so the bigger the bowl the larger the portion. I even take my plates and bowls on holiday with me or I just eat so much (dh can't work out why I can't just eatless in a big bowl but I like knowing how much I'm having, and we always drive for our uk holidays and do self catering so it's no bother to stick a couple of plates and bowls in).

Reastie · 14/01/2017 19:51

another essay Blush

yumyumpoppycat · 15/01/2017 17:27

hello everyone hope you are all having a great weekend.

Did the Jillian Opus workout yest - it was a bit daft and back flippy - JM couldnt do half of it herself. They had a change of cast for each round Hmm there were lots of shoulder stands, donkey kicks, and low squat things and weird versions of burpees. It was entirely made up of all the to miss the very end of the workout as youngest dd was at a party and strange moves they sometimes throw in at the end of a BB workout. I had tearful so I had to dash off in my workout stuff...obviously she was fine when I got there Grin

I am still aching from my Friday autumn calabrese workout which was simple on the face of it but hard so think that was better than the Opus workout.

Interesting to read about what people eat. Nutrition is way off for me at the mo. I tend to be fairly strict but then go on extended holidays like over christmas where I eat what I like - this always ends up in a big weight gain 4-6lbs usually. I would like to find a middle ground where I just eat sensibly. I like the blood sugar diet which is low calories, high in good fats, moderate protein, moderate- low carbs but aiming for carbs to be low GI things like veg, lentils, low sugar fruit, wholegrains in small portions. I think the pots are a bit confusing so have never got round to using them but am always tempted.

yumyumpoppycat · 15/01/2017 17:29

sorry some of my message got deleted so it doesnt make sense! I was just saying the JM workout was entirely made up of the occasional random impossible moves which are sometimes slotted in to the BB workouts.

yumyumpoppycat · 15/01/2017 17:33

Oh god original message made even less sense than I thought! I was also saying dd was crying at a party when I was working out so had to abandon workout to get her.

disappointed101 · 15/01/2017 18:26

Purple I have a collection of tops :) Insanity Max 30, Hammer and Chisel, Insanity Asylum didn't send away for my les mills combat top :( will be sending in for the core de force and p90x2 when I have finished them.
Yummy I was thinking if doing bodyshred at some point. Have you done the whole thing? My favourites of hers are extreme shed and shred, the kickbox one and hard body. I've done body revolution and that was fun.
I got a fit bit for Christmas and am surprised at how little I burn in core de force. Looking forward to see which workouts give the best calorie burn

Reastie · 15/01/2017 19:13

Disappointed do you do the photos as they say you should on the instructions or just generic before and after?

I have great news, I managed my first 10k today and it was one hour (ok, one hour one minute). I've been wanting to do a 10k for a month or so but today was the day I managed it. Small achievement for some but big for me. My knees really feel it now though and I'm hoping they will manage step aerobics tomorrow.

Yumy hope your dd is ok now. Mine is nearly 6 and won't even let me entertain the idea of leaving her at parties. I'm one of the only parents who still stay at parties.

Reastie · 15/01/2017 19:15

Ps disappointed does your Fitbit have a chest band for hr Monitor? I had a wrist Fitbit and it was notoriously terrible at my heart rate accurately and calorie burning so I sold it and now have a polar with chest strap which is so much better and more accurate. I burnt nearly 700 calories on my run this morning Shock

Purpleraindeer · 15/01/2017 20:53

Poppy - Grin at your post. I guess Jillian didn't get off to a flying start?

Roastie ( altho I've just noticed you've changed your name so maybe I can't call you that anymore) - fantastic on the 10k- well done!!

Did p90x3 warrior tonight. I have become a press up weakling and need to fix it!

Theromanempire · 15/01/2017 21:00

reastie well done on the run, great time Smile my fastest time for a 10k when I was at my peak in running was 1hr 9 minutes - and that was after shed loads of training Grin I am like a sloth Wink

Nutrition-wise, I am pants hence why I am a size 16 Hmm however, I pride myself on being a fit size 16! Did Total Body Cardio 21df today and didn't have to modify once Smile bloody hard

disappointed101 · 15/01/2017 21:33

Reastie I do as they suggest, front, quarter turn, side and back. Well done on your running! I might start running when the weather warms up. Haven't done it for many years! It is a charge 2 by the way, no chest strap.
Roman well done on not having to modify!

yumyumpoppycat · 15/01/2017 23:42

Sorry again about my weird post, mouse on my laptop is useless {thumps laptop}

Well done on non modifiying from me too Roman really big accomplishment.

Reastie well done on 10 k Star

I shouldn't have left dd2 at the party tbh, her older sister had had a sleepover the night before, and then just before the party dd2 got sacked by her stage 1 swimming teacher (teacher says she has tried and cant help her - dd has been having lessons for over a year to be fair) so it was prob all too much.

101 I am enjoying hammer and chisel so not ready to do the bodyshred workout plan beyond testing JMs ultimate workout Grin maybe we can do it together! It was £35 on ebay which isnt too bad - works out similar to buying her normal dvds. It comes with a nutrition plan but it is low fat so a no from my perspective but some of the recipes might be ok. Actually Reastie JM has millet on the no list! Apparently its goitrogenic or whatever the word is, have read somewhere else recently it is very nutritious so that sums up the minefield that is nutrition.

Purple same from me re pushups, hammer workout done today - I need to work on improving both pullups and press ups as have to do them for a minute each. Bit gutted as pullups are hard even with the assist thing.

Reastie · 16/01/2017 18:44

Feeling very down after seeing specialist about my arm/shoulder. You know how you feel like you get off on the wrong foot with someone accidentally? I feel like that with him, or maybe it's just his bedside manner. Anyway, he's asked me to have ANOTHER MRI to see if anything has changed and has suggested it'll be injections then potentially an operation as next course of treatment . Plus, last time he said I should stop any free weights, hiit, push ups etc and when I said that was most of my exercise programme he suggested I take up running and recommended couch to 5k. So as you know I've been running after his advice and I find myself finally starting to enjoy it so I proudly tell him I managed my first 10k yesterday to which he said he didn't tell me running was a good exercise to do and when I questioned this and said his mention to couch to 5k as a recommendation to me he said there's a difference between 5k and 10k (Didn't put any limits on it previously though). But I could do 5k and needed the next challenge...now I don't even know what I should be doing.

In good news I totally nailed step aerobics today and loved it.
You know when you have a really good class and are completely in it? I had a blast.

Yumy that's interesting about millet and jm.

Theromanempire · 16/01/2017 22:02

reastie your consultant sounds like a complete arse Angry who doesn't actually know what he is talking about exercise-wise although I appreciate he is obviously a very well-qualified doctor Wink so frustrating for you not knowing what you can and can't do - glad you are still enjoying step classes Smile

Did Speed 2.0 tonight - first time in about 6 months. Was able to do just as much as I could then when I feel I was much fitter so maybe I haven't lost 'it' quite as much as I thought. Also realised what good cardio workouts they are and how I miss Shaun T Grin

Purpleraindeer · 16/01/2017 22:06

I'm so angry on your behalf roastie. Your consultant sounds really unhelpful. You've done so well with the running and even better to keep plugging away despite all of the limitations from your injury. Don't let him get you down. Flowers
rest day for me

yumyumpoppycat · 16/01/2017 23:27

Well done on not letting it get you down Reastie, it does sound very frustrating. He is clearly not planning to become a sports injury specialist! Not sure what I would do in your position but think I would probably do the running if it isnt actually hurting your shoulder?

yumyumpoppycat · 16/01/2017 23:29

Sorry I was focusing on your positive Step class vibe when I said you are not down about it Roastie

Reastie · 17/01/2017 06:58

Thank you but he is a sports injury specialist and the surgeon/top man at that. I felt like bursting into tears when I came out as I've changed everything based on what he told me and he said I should take up running so I did. It's not my fault I needed more challenge than the couch to 5k he suggested and he didn't say I should limit running. MRI is booked for later this week. I hate MRIs but at least the last two were in a very lovely private complex where it was quiet and relaxed and they had a larger than usual hole in the machine where your head goes through so my claustrophobia was marginally better. This place is busy and late running and has that stressful sort of .... still, I will remain positive and at least it'll be over this week. Thank you for the understanding, I knew you'd all get it.

Hoping to do abs 21 day fix later.
