I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

purple glad you tried the cardio one and confirmed what I thought Grin but a lot of the moves look unusual so really want to try it even if I do modify a lot. Have to start somewhere Smile roastie I think there were only a couple of floor based moves so I bet you will be OK with it - watch it and see what you think.

Going to do dirty dozen with DH tomorrow evening so can compare notes purple

Went for a walk up a very steep hill today - oh my, my thighs are really sore!!

Theromanempire · 02/01/2017 21:00

Cross post yumyum - I love Autumn (I think I have a little girl crush Grin) she does advise on form a lot in 21df/21dfx so maybe having someone else talking aswell inhibits her a bit??

disappointed101 · 02/01/2017 21:02

Hi everyone, I haven't posted here in ages. I was exercising but sort of lost motivation and was just going through the motions. I started core de force today. I bought myself the deluxe version for Christmas. I saw that it is on the special channel if anyone wants a peek, you have to put the name of the individual workouts in rather than core de force.
I am tempted by body beast too at that price. Wow!
Those doing Hammer and Chisel, I did the whole thing with no bench or ball. I used my step and chairs/sofa instead. No room for a bench unless it goes in the garage. Happy New Year all of you!

yumyumpoppycat · 02/01/2017 21:18

We are all here at the same time {faints} ...2nd of January and we are all focused Grin

Roman awww Grin she is def less over the top than Chalean.

Welcome back dissapointed, how did you find hammer and chisel? Good to know bench isnt necessary. I figured it was prob more dangerous to use a cheap bench in addition to all the space it uses. Dp wont let me use the sofa for exercise as he is funny about sweat ending up on the soft furnishings! I did naughtily do a move for a little while near the beg pre sweat, which was an up and down plank but then reverted to the floor - it was actually a lot harder doing the floor modification.

disappointed101 · 02/01/2017 22:11

Hi yummy. I really liked it. Will definitely be doing another round at some point. The only thing I found hard was being on the lowest calorie bracket. I think next time I will do b or c.

Purpleraindeer · 03/01/2017 06:31

Welcome back disappointed. I'm going to google core de force now.

Poppy ( I think?) my DH has the same issues as yours. He won't let me sit on any chair or sofa until I've showered post workout and even the kids now say 'yuk you're all sweaty mummy'.

Had my post Xmas weigh in. I've hit my max acceptable weight so the chocs and cake and cheese etc etc need to stop whilst I reset.....sigh.

disappointed101 · 03/01/2017 12:18

You'll get back on track Purple. Unsurprisingly, I didn't put any weight on over Christmas, mainly because the sick bug came to my house. I didn't get it but felt queasy and not hungry. I didn't have any Christmas cake this year because of it ☹️. I really wanted some too.
Dynamic strength workout for me today. Lots of push up variations today. I did almost all of it unmodified, except there were these Sphinx blaster push ups and I seriously did only one, they felt so wierd! Anyway glad core de force is not all cardio cardio cardio.
Has anyone here done the extra BOD workouts like dirty dozen etc? How did you like them? There's a special year access deal for $99 for BOD but only USA at the moment :(

Reastie · 03/01/2017 19:08

Great to have more chat on here again.

Well, after expecting not to get a workout in today I squeezed the core cardio 21 day fix from the secret site in today. Feeling really weak today (went out with dh and dd this morning and climbing up stairs I felt really puffed which is unusual, think it might be this virus I'm fighting off) so didn't go all out on the workout but got a sweat on. I found Autumn a little annoying but I've never really done her workouts before so I think it's just because I don't feel like I know her to do workouts with her yet (that sounds weird, hopefully you get what I mean). She's too perfect.

Yumy the step wasn't too expensive then. I looked a few years ago at getting one and I'm sure they were more then. I can't wait for my gym to get more steps as the ones they have are ancient and most have lost their non stick bits on the bottom so we all have to put weights inside the base of them so they don't slip around too much. They keep saying they are on order but they've been saying that for a couple of months. Maybe they are getting cheap ones delivered from China Grin .

In fantastic news I've got myself two new pairs of trainers, yes, two! After a year and a half of the old ones being used practically every day Blush I am now the owner of proper running trainers and court shoes, so for plyo etc I can use trainers which aren't just designed for the impact of running in a straight line. They feel really weird to wear though and make a completely different feel when I worked out in them earlier. Does anyone else wear different trainers for different sports? I feel all professional!!

Disappointed that sounds like a really miserable Christmas for you and your family.

My dh doesn't care if I sit on the sofa all sweaty or not! But he does draw the line and not letting me hug him when I'm smelly and sweaty (can't say I blame him, but sometimes I somehow forget!).

Purple max acceptable weight is still in the acceptable category so not too bad at all. I have a maximum acceptable weight too!

Reastie · 03/01/2017 19:09

Gah, I've done another epic post haven't I Blush

disappointed101 · 03/01/2017 20:15

Great post Reastie! It was crap. We didn't have our Christmas dinner till New Year's Day!
I'm going to try some of those workouts on the secret site after I have finished core de force. I'm going to do p90x2 after that!
Well done on the new trainers! I love getting new work out gear!
What are these steps you talk of?

Reastie · 03/01/2017 20:51

As in step aerobics steps, to use in place of a weights bench type thing. Although I just love step aerobics and quite fancied doing a few moves at home when I looked into one

Be warned p90x2 involves a lot of special gear. I got for that one an exercise ball, two medicine balls, and a pull up bar. If there was anything else I can't remember it. The workouts are very very effective with all the kit but you can modify and do it with a towel and a band and possibly other stuff too (it's been ages since I did it). I think it might be p90x2 where Tony goes on about how amazing foam rollers are and uses that a lot, or that might be another workout series he does, I can't remember. Just a sucker for the kit I've got a foam roller too! I remember feeling annoyed I'd spent a fortune on all this kit when I could have still got a workout (although much less dynamic) without it. TBH I found a fair chunk of it really tough with the kit as it engages the core and my core is rubbish, so I couldn't do the moves properly in correct form. I seem to recall moves like push ups with each hand on a medicine ball (doable ish) and push ups with both hands on the big exercise balls (impossible for me, it kept trying to roll away and I wasn't stable enough to do it without risking injury or a floor face palm). Don't let that out you off though as they are great and maybe if I tried them now I might be more successful. Try without all the kit before you buy it all though unlike me.

Purpleraindeer · 03/01/2017 21:15

Grrr totally annoyed tonight. Was all excited about trying corp de force so jumped right in with mma shred. I HATED it. I found it too hard to get coordinated and do the moves right and I couldn't really work up a sweat. I think I'm not suited to these martial arts work outs. Then made a receipe from 'lean in 15' Joe wicks cookbook and it was horrible. Angry.

Back to 21df tomorrow Smile and I know exactly what you mean re autumn's perfection roastie. She is a bit plastic but you get used to it.

Have a good evening everyone.

Theromanempire · 03/01/2017 21:51

Grin at you all not liking Autumn - honestly, you get used to her perkiness and she is really good at keeping you motivated.

Did Dirty Dozen tonight - really enjoyed it. The exercises were really fresh - loads of moves I have never done before (and I am a veteran of a lot of different exercise classes)! I had to use lighter weights throughout though as DH was being pathetic and wanted to use the weights I use as 'heavy' ones (to him, they are lighter ones Grin). Definitely could have gone heavier on a lot of the exercises.

Going for my first BBL workout in the morning - hoping I enjoy it Confused

Theromanempire · 03/01/2017 21:53

purple sorry just read your post. Sorry that you found Core de Force rubbish - so frustrating when you feel you have wasted your workout time and not enjoyed it/got nothing out of it. Hope I don't feel like that about BBL Grin

disappointed101 · 03/01/2017 22:31

Purple sorry you had a crap workout. My dinner was shit too...I made the beachbody Mac and cheese. The texture of the sauce was gross. Reastie, I have the extra equipment already for p90x2. The only thing I don't have is a pull up bar. I do them on equaliser bars. I have used bands in the past but the fuckers always snap in my face.
I am so doing dirty dozen etc when I've finished core de force.
Mma shred will be Friday's workout for me so I will let you know how I get on

Reastie · 04/01/2017 06:57

Purple if it helps when I first started combat workouts I felt exactly the same but if you keep persevering it really does get a better workout because you get used to the moves and so push yourself harder and get more from it.

Theromanempire · 04/01/2017 10:29

Well I did the Get Sweaty BBL workout today - it was ok but felt like a zumba class. Didn't really get out of breath or that sweaty (compared to the 21df/T25 workouts) but it was fun. I did the 15 minute abs workout aswell which was hard!

However, I had a quick watch of the other 3 workouts in the programme (there is an arm one, bottom/leg one and and full body one) and they look fab - lots of hard exercises, weights, different kinds of burpees etc. I will reserve judgement until I have done all 4 workouts but I feel I may have to rethink my view that BBL is just a dance workout and too easy Grin

anewdispensation · 04/01/2017 15:28

Wow glad I found this thread. Can I join you all? I have just restarted working out at home after dealing with lower back issues for the past 3 months. Just got the all clear from consultant and physio.

I didn't gain any weight from the 3 months I was off due to clean eating but I have lost my muscle tone and don't look as lean which depresses me. I am easing myself back in with Jillian Micheals dvds. I love her and own all her dvds and I intend to stay with them for January. You guys all sound hard core with your programs most of which I have never heard of. What is secret site? I own insanity max which I plan to do in march and April before I go on holiday!!

Purpleraindeer · 04/01/2017 21:20

You guys totally get it re how annoying a bad workout is. That is why I post on here Grin. Better tonight - went old school and did speed 3.0. Fab. I think I need multiple different shoes like you have roastie. The balls of my feet were sore afterwards - am sure this is my trainers not being right. Am going to have 2 rest days before my race on sat. Am excited about it but a bit apprehensive.

Glad bbl looks good roman. Struggled to remember what bbl stood for, but got it eventually. Will be interested in what the other workouts are like.

Welcome anew. I LOVE max30 - I hope you do too. Don't worry - we're not too hardcore. We're just enthusiastic Smile

Theromanempire · 04/01/2017 22:33

anew welcome Smile most of our discussions are around the various Beach body workouts (if you check out the website, you will see all the different workouts - there is a huge variety to suit everyone).

purple can't wait to hear how the walk goes - hope you manage to get some enjoyment whilst doing it Smile

Bit ominous but my abs are starting to hurt tonight...I fear for the morning when I probably can't even sit up without wincing in pain. That 15 minute abs was obviously a killer Confused

yumyumpoppycat · 05/01/2017 19:36

Purple a bit of T25 always cheers me up, have only done 3,0 once so will have to do it again soon Grin

dissapointed what are equalisers

Hi anew welcome! Jillian workouts are hard if you ask me, some def harder than lots of beachbody workouts. Which ones are you doing at the mo? I got killer arms last year but only did it once but think I will try it as a challenge to see if I have improved. I have also tried her yoga dvd but again found that too hard Blush

Roman how are your abs now? I can't find the review but remember seeing one that recommended the abs workout.

Roastie sadly I cant recommend my new step as it has a crack/ piece missing in a corner, but think it is still usable hopefully.

I havent been sticking to the hammer and chisel schedule as I cant find my pull up bar! I did power hammer today, my first arnie sagi workout. I feel a bit funny using my power blocks for this as some of the exercises are quite fast (squat, clean, jerk Confused and I think there is defo potential for injury compared to chalean or for the powerblock to come apart and clonk me on the head. One good thing is at least there is a clear pattern to the weights lifted so no need to note everything down as I can anticipate the weight that will be needed.

anewdispensation · 06/01/2017 20:18

Hi all. Thanks for th welcome. yumyum I am quite surprised you think Jillian is harder than the beach bodies DVDs. I am convinced SHaun T is the devil himself hahaha. I have all of Jillians dvds and I am currently doing a rotation of my faves- Banish fat for cardio, no more trouble zones and shred it with weights for Toning and strength as I get quicker results mixing it up. One week in and I am seeing results already.

I plan to do the insanity max 30 in March and April.

Purpleraindeer · 07/01/2017 06:29

Hello all. Just checking in. We've done our final kit check and are just about to get in car to go to the mountain start. As usual we've got up super early to get ready and now we're pacing around all nervous with nothing to do..... I have the fear but hopefully Shaun t and his hard core insanity training will get me through. It can't be worse than max interval circuits can it? Shock

Theromanempire · 07/01/2017 08:33

Good luck purple - bet you nail it Smile

yumyumpoppycat · 07/01/2017 10:30

Good luck Purple - looking forward to hearing how it went!
