I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

Purple that sounds rubbish. I hope you feel better soon. I've heard of quite a few people recently that have seemed to have bugs that go on and on.

Yumy you WILL workout tomorrow, NO EXCUSES! (That's meant to be motivational not shouty!).

In a hurry this morning so did hc22 cardio 2 and core 1. Gah I hate gorilla crawls. I need a run (never thought I'd say that!) but with dd home for the hols will have to wait until Saturday. Hoping for a quick DVD in the morning but feeling a bit run down ATM. Went to physio again today. Previous exercises I've been doing haven't made any difference to injury. I really hope the new ones do, I'm getting so fed up now.

Theromanempire · 15/12/2016 20:08

hi everyone Smile

Sorry I have been AWOL for a while - things have really slipped on the exercise/eating front for a variety of reasons Blush the bad news is that I seem to have put most of the weight back on that I lost earlier in the year Sad and with Christmas on the horizon, it is only going to get worse Sad Sad so pissed off with myself!

Anyway, I am having a few health issues which indicate I might be going through the early menopause (I am early 40's) although am having tests to see what is going on.

So all in all, I am feeling pretty crappy right now Sad

Exercise has been hit and miss - maybe 2/3 workouts a week - have lost motivation!

Anyway, wanted to pop in and catch up (and hopefully stick around).

Purpleraindeer · 15/12/2016 21:22

Did you workout poppy?

Roastie - that's rubbish re the injury. I assumed it was all on the mend. I know exactly what you mean re a run - I think it's lovely running in the winter. I never get enough fresh air at this time of year.

Roman - am glad to see you back. Was wondering whether you were ok. Sounds like you're going through a lot so still working out 2 or 3x per week is great - well done you. Flowers

I think I'm finally feeling better. It's a miracle. Did tabata strength tonight and managed to do the low diamond holds without giving up half way. Have never done that before.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 16/12/2016 12:52

Purple well done on the diamond holds, you must be on the mend!!!

Hello thermo, 2-3 workouts still sounds good and you haven't given up at all maintaining that. Do you have to wait long for the test results to tell you about the hormones? Hopefully you'll feel better in yourself too. It's so hard this time of year when it's so dark all the time and so much to do let alone when you add health issues in the mix.

Did insanity pure cardio today and really enjoyed it. I think running is really making a difference to my cardio fitness as if I do an insanity as a one off (i.e. Do one after not having done it in a while) I usually need to have breaks even in the warm up but not today :) . I did breaks in the main part but got to the bit where Shaun t said 'you may want to have a break around this point' and hadn't breaker already (often I laugh at him for only then thinking of a break when I've already had several). Had to modify a few moves for injury but other than that was good.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 17/12/2016 18:54

Hello .

Making good progress with my running; nearly 9k this morning. I can't remember the time exactly but it was something like 54 minutes but have had a killer headache this afternoon and wondering if is somehow related. I googled and it looks like it's a thing people some can get. Have been drinking like a mad thing in case it's dehydration but still isn't shifting.

Purpleraindeer · 18/12/2016 10:04

Hello!
Weird you've got a headache from runnjng roastie. I find that it gets rid of headaches (all the endorphins I guess?). Good pace too. I find the same re insanity helping my running and vice Versa

Did another training walk yesterday. 12miles with 34lbs plus water weight so was pretty heavy. Felt great until 10miles then got really sore hips. Better than last time and recovered loads faster too so feeling like the training is paying off. Hopefully a max30 later.

DH told me I was looking too thin last night. No-one has EVER said that! Have ignored as I think I look fine and actually taken as a compliment actually as I know I'm not too thin (BMI is 22). I did have an extra big pudding in response....
have a good day all - hope all your Christmas prep is under control. For the first time ever all presents were bought and wrapped with a few weeks to go. I'm feeling quite smug. Smile

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 20/12/2016 20:53

Wow purple to being called too thin. maybe it's just the change in you rather than yOu actually being too thin? I can't anyone would ever say that to me!! Well done on the training, are you planning one for Christmas week end?!

Well, did speed 3 yesterday and today did combat core (it's only 18 minutes) then a balance yoga from the yoga retreat thing on the secret site. Was very impressed by the yoga. I haven't done a yoga class in a couple of weeks so thought I could do with a quick fix. It was quite basic (but then I picked one near the beginning of the set) but was very good for making sure my form was right and I'm definitely going to try some more. It's my birthday tomorrow so I'm hoping to go for a morning run (dm is looking after dd so I can :) ) and maybe if I get time a relax or stretch yoga workout for a bit of destress with everything going on in the run up to Christmas. Will report back what it's like. Also hoping to do a lower piyo and fingers crossed I might get insanity max tomorrow for my bday :)

Oh, and I ordered some stuff in the sweaty Betty sale, hope it fits!

Purpleraindeer · 20/12/2016 20:53

Oh no. Was it my smug Xmas comment which drove you all away? Blush
Friday fight and max out cardio done over last 3 days. I took a lot of breaks....hopefully will get a workout in every day until Friday.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 20/12/2016 20:54

Purple we posted at the same time!!!

No smug comment scaring me off as I'm pretty much all done and dusted too so I share in your smugness!

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 20/12/2016 20:56

Just to make it clear I'm not planning on going for a run, doing a yoga workout, doing piyo, and insanity max all in the same day! The two former are planned for tomorrow but the latter are for later this week.

Theromanempire · 21/12/2016 05:50

Morning Smile

purple no, it wasn't your 'smug' comment - I am very jealous! I have got most stuff done but still have little bits floating round in my head that I need to do. Well done on the 'too thin' comment...again, not something that will ever be said to me Grin

roastie that yoga sounds interesting. I love a bit of yoga but am a complete beginner so am wary of a lot of videos. Will be interested to see how you find them.

Core de Force has been uploaded onto the secret site if anyone is interested. I think it is just like Body combat so would rather do one of their videos! I keep checking the site as there are 2 new 21 day fix videos out (exclusively on beach body.com) so am hoping someone puts them on soon.

Have had all my tests at the docs - got an appointment with GP next Wednesday to discuss the results. Am hoping it is something relatively straightforward and treatable as I just want to feel normal again - I am just knackered all the time!

Lorelei76 · 21/12/2016 13:13

hi all
has anyone done Cize? Do I need to be co-ordinated?!

It's not for main exercise, I will stick to the gym for that. It's to see if I can cheer myself up a bit during winter, I would do it as an extra later in the day for fun. Any thoughts? I am hopelessly unco-ordinated and struggle with Zumba tbh. Just need something to give me a lift early evenings and make me giggle a bit. Seems like a lot to spend for that though.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 21/12/2016 14:25

Lorelei I've done a few of the case workouts. I'd say you do have to be a bit coordinated yes. If you did the same workout a few times I'm sure you'd get it and follow it, but expect to be floundering initially. I do a step class every week which is pretty coordinated (about 50% of newcomers since I've been going give up midway through the class) and it's less complicated and less spins than that but it is quite quick moving and you do have to think. It's not that hard physically though. I've never tried Zumba to compare it I'm afraid.

So, birthday is today. Did three week yoga retreat relax and quick 4.5 k this morning. Enjoyed yoga retreat. Was very simple but lots of focus on form. Thermo I'd recommend what I've done. It's quite basic moves so don't expect a workout but good for a stretch day (and maybe some of the ones I haven't tried are harder). It's good for a beginner too. I always feel with p90x3 (to change the subject slightly) the yoga workout is quite dangerous as there's no way you could do it correctly and safely if you hadn't done yoga before.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 21/12/2016 14:26

Cize not case

Theromanempire · 21/12/2016 15:42

Thanks roastie I do t25 stretch on stretch day but it is becoming a bit boring now (well not that stretching is ever exciting Grin) and fancy a change. Will investigate the yoga retreat videos.

lorelei I haven't done Cize but have done a couple of Country Heat workouts. They are country dancing workouts- they are basic dance moves but you still get to wiggle your bum Wink definitely good fun. If you want to try them, pm me and I can tell you something that you might find useful Wink

Lorelei76 · 21/12/2016 17:13

Thanks Reastie
Roman, Iooking at Country Heat too now - I might try that BB on demand thing! Thanks for flagging that up.

Purpleraindeer · 22/12/2016 19:20

Happy birthday roastie. Did you get some pyjama bottoms for your birthday and then get the top for Xmas? That was what used to happen to my aunt apparently!

Did max out sweat tonight and now have a v sore right bum cheek. Weird. Maybe have pulled a muscle. Aiming for one more workout tomorrow then will sign off for Xmas. I like a Xmas day run to get some fresh air but I think I might be on meal prep/kids riot control instead this year.....

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 22/12/2016 20:55

Insanity max first workout today (done two workouts in secret site but now have my own copy). Cardio challenge and maxed out the 8 minute mark but only because jumping around a lot made me need a poo Blush . Really enjoyed it. Is it just the Tabata (or whatever they're called) that have a lot of arm stuff in? Wondering if I'll be able to do the Friday fights given I can't do arm stuff (well, nothing more than plank based stuff).

Hoping for a run tomorrow Cross fingers.

Purple no pj bottoms!!

Lorelei76 · 23/12/2016 10:14

there's a secret site for these workouts?

Purpleraindeer · 23/12/2016 10:15

All of the tabatas have loads of press ups etc. I honestly don't think I'll ever be able to get through all those press up sets. Friday fight 1 and 2 have lots less, but are evil in their own special way.....

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 23/12/2016 11:05

Lore did you pm thermo to get the link to the secret site? Otherwise I will pm you.

Purple I will avoid the tatatas ones for sure but give the fight ones a go, although I can't do punching much because of arm if these actual fighting moves.

Well, was really pleased with myself today, did 8k in under 50 minutes. Just looked online to see whether it's a decent time or not to find it's a really rubbish time :( I felt like I'd done so well but it looks like I should be aiming for 40 minutes. I suppose given it's only my second or third 8k I can't complain but I feel a little disappointed. Used my fancy new heart rate monitor andrunning is a better heart rate work out and calorie burner than insanity . I felt super proud as based on my run and heart rate and age and other stats my run placed me on 'elite' which is the fittest you can get....then I realised the stats are based on logging your resting heart rate first which I haven't done yet (it's a confusing piece of kit with lots to learn) so once I do I'd find it very unlikely I'd actually be in the elite category.

lljkk · 23/12/2016 11:24

Gosh, GodReastie, you sound really hard on yourself.

I have similar pb for 8k & know that I can't actually work more than a tiny fraction % harder (I will spare you all my own anorak vo2max & heart rate info). If other people are faster, it's because their bodies output more power; mine is still doomed to be slow & weak.... but I'm amazeballs compared to the folk who have hugely better potential but do no exercise (which I reckon make up the majority of adults!!). Plus the progress I've made is amazing enough for me, I've worked very hard for it.

Getting your resting HR is easy, just put the HRM on on a lazy morning & let it record for a while while you try to snuggle back to sleep.

Lorelei76 · 23/12/2016 11:29

if the secret site is legal I'm happy to use it, but I guess not!

I had a look at both those dance workouts. They are expensive - and tbh Country Dance didn't look great - but what I think I will do is add in a bit of Shaun T hip hop abs so have a usual session in the morning and then do that when I get back from work. I normally do a bunch of stretching when I get back as sitting in a chair all day doesn't suit me. Just really needed a way to perk up in all this gloom! I love working out but some days the gloom eats my motivation.

Theromanempire · 23/12/2016 15:25

lorelei despite my DH's reservations, the secret site is legit - pm one of us for the details Smile

roastie 50 mins for 8k seems reasonable to me! My quickest ever 10k was 70 minutes (when I was at my fittest running-wise) so 8k in 50 seems great to me Smile

Well all exercise has ground to a halt for the festivities Blush will pick it back up next week Wink

Purpleraindeer · 24/12/2016 09:49

Roastie I just checked - your pace would have got you exactly to the middle of the field (men and women) for our local 10k so I think you should be pleased with that. your speed will increase naturally as you run more.

Did my last max30 before Xmas. And I thought I'd pass on this motivational message from dd (3). She looked a bit concerned when I was huffing and puffing through push up jacks and said 'mummy if it's making you tired just stop. Don't copy him anymore'. Grin

Happy Christmas everyone!
