I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

Roastie - forgot to reply yesterday but what about speed 2.0 and/or the abs workout from insanity (it has loads of tuck jumps etc so isn't just abs)?

Poppy - re hardest max30 I think it depends on the definition. If it's 'most likely to make my lungs burn and heart pop out of chest' it's Friday fight 2 or max out sweat. But if it's a workout where I think I'll never be able to do it properly without modifying it's max out strength. I seriously can never imagine ever being able to do all those push ups!

Weirdly had a craving for a flapjack today so I bought one and scoffed the lot. It was so sweet it made me feel sick. Blush i felt compelled to do a workout to stop me feeling so urgh. Max out power. Was feeling the effects of yesterday's walk but nowhere near as bad as last week so that's progress I guess. I will do exactly what you suggest poppy and do my next training walk in the pm.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 22/11/2016 18:39

Purple that's interesting about the flapjack. Good idea about t25 but I only have gamma which has from memory a fair few spider crawl/burpees bits (but I could modify).

I ended out yesterday doing a cize workout. I forget which one but it was the longest one so I thought it would give me a decent workout. I couldn't go to gym as dd home ill. It was rubbish and I barely worked up a sweat :( the fact I couldn't move one arm didn't help matters. And then today I didn't workout as I'm feeling ill and tomorrow I'm getting my haircut so no workout then either . Oh well, a few days off when I'm feeling under the weather won't kill me I suppose. Hopefully I'll be feeling better for Thursday and can do another run then seeing physio again and hopefully will be able to move arm more.

Yumy I love the sound of that Father Christmas video, where did you get it from?

Btw have changed to Christmas nn should you have been confused!

yumyumpoppycat · 22/11/2016 19:18

We will have to call you God on this thread now Grin Don't feel guilty about a few days off - you are awsome keeping going with your arm strapped up Shock plus teaching and running the bargain thread, just browsing and lurking on the bargain thread is a full time job!

This was the website, we used to do a different one but it seems to have gone I think there are quite a few different ones so you could test them out to see which one you like, emailsanta.com/email_santa.asp

Purple I think your right about fight 2 - it is the most intense but not the hardest exactly.

I did lean chalean today - outfit alert - shiny gold vest today - even the dc were commenting on Chaleans outfit.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 23/11/2016 19:51

I wîll answer to both reastie and god!

No workout today as still under the weather and had haircut booked. Tomorrow I'm planning either a mini run or a legs workout depending on how I feel.

Yumy that website for santa emails are great, so going to donthat with dd

yumyumpoppycat · 23/11/2016 23:30

Grin how did your haircut turn out Reastie?

I did IM30 cardio (2) realllllllly struggled, I was quite rubbish. But anyway got through it, no idea why I was so not in the zone. Funnily enough been really busy this eve after work so hopefully thats made up for it.

Purpleraindeer · 24/11/2016 06:42

Poppy - I felt the same. Did max out sweat. Prob pushed a bit too hard at the start and was ruined by about 15mins. I was really struggling with the in/out abs with the arm raise - mine were more huff/puff flail about like a fish! I do enjoy that workout tho

Also saw an article about a class called flatline. It's supposed to be the Hardest class ever and they have oxygen on standby in case you need it! Made me want to join a gym to give it a go!

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 24/11/2016 20:04

I googled flatline workout class purple Shock . Oh. My. Goodness. !

Yumy haircut was good thanks.

Potentially great news with physio. I have a huge amount of daily exercises but she says I can do bicep curls with light weights and don't have to limit arm movement so long as it doesn't hurt. So I'm on for body pump squat and lunge tracks (without weight) and bicep track with very light weight. This makes me very happy!

Purpleraindeer · 24/11/2016 21:05

That is great news roastie (can I still call you that?) - just be careful you don't over do it! Smile

Am put off doing flatline after max out strength nearly killed me. Can I actually be getting worse at press ups?

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 25/11/2016 20:56

Purple, I'll answer to pretty much anything Grin . You know me too well withthe being careful not to overdo it. Still not feeling wonderful and was going to pop into the gym this afternoon to do a mini workout on the treadmill or some abs work but discovered when I got there I had forgotten my trainers so couldn't so went swimming instead (costume is always in the gym bag) which possibly was a bad move given I have a coldly thing and swimming often seems to make these things worse with me. Did p90x3 lower yesterday and some nice aching going on today! Hoping fora run tomorrow (assuming it's not too cold in which case it will just make me cough a lot so may have to do a DVD). Had a dream last night there was a local gym where some of the beachbody team did personal training and I got a training session with Rachel from the combat DVDs and it was really hard!

Purple if you've had a tough workout week then I tend to find I get worse because my body gets tired and needs a rest. I bet next time you try there will be improvement.

Hope everyone has some good workouts planned for the week end.

Looking forward to an update from booing at some point and hope she's managing to keep the workouts up.

Purpleraindeer · 27/11/2016 10:22

Did you get out for your run roastie. Was a lovely day for it here. Took Poppy's advice and went for my walk at the end of the day - came back across the fields whilst the sun set. Was beautiful. Felt better this week too after some epic faffing trying to sort the straps on my rucksack. Although training not totally going to plan as each week I walk a shorter distance but at least the weight now feels manageable. Hmm must try harder next week.

Planning on insanity asylum workout later. Maybe speed and agility? Not sure.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 27/11/2016 13:40

That end of walk sounds lovely purple, sounds like a good plan to go at the end of a Saturday.

Didn't get out for a run as coughing and sore throat and thought run outside would make it worse. Did, however, do tf hiit20 followed by bodypump squat and lunge track (no weights) , abs track, and half the bicep track with just barbell. Don't ache today sonmight try the whole track next time. Did t25 speed 3 this morning but struggled to keep up with their speed. Still not 100% but plugging away and trying.

Purpleraindeer · 28/11/2016 07:53

Sorry to hear you're still ill roastie. We're a house of disease too. Every time one person gets better someone else gets ill. Ah winter... Sad

Didn't do asylum as ran out of time/mentally couldn't face 45mins so did Friday fight 2. Was actually quite an enjoyable workout. I'd remembered it as being horrific so was a pleasant surprise. DH has just finished a press up challenge so wanted to do a 'press up off'. Am proud to say I still managed it even having just done fight 2 and even threw in some plyo push ups which DH couldn't do. He says he's scared of me now Grin

Purpleraindeer · 02/12/2016 06:32

Very quiet on here. I keep coming to see if anyone has posted their exercise to make up for the fact that I haven't done any. Sad I have a cold again. Angry I did try max out strength as it's not one where you have to jump around a lot, but that was a mistake and now I feel worse..... boo
Hope you're all doing better!

yumyumpoppycat · 02/12/2016 07:03

Oh no purple Flowers hope you feel better soon. Well done for even attempting maxout strength!

Actually I should be exercising now before kids get up but came on mumsnet instead Blush I have been exercising, not 100% on it, but getting in a couple of chaleans and insanity max 30s this week. I did chalean lean 3 yesterday and it was my favourite so far, some different exercises....but the kids were being really a bunch of pains in the butt (with affection ;) ) and I kept having to pause.

Hope you are doing well too Roastie and theroman

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 03/12/2016 20:57

Purple I love that you beat your dh at press ups even after he'd completed press up challenge. Hope you feel better soon. I'm a good two weeks into my cold now I think. It's so much better but I'm still sniffling.

Yumy well done for keeping at it.

Sorry I haven't posted, it just seems to have been a really hectic week for me. Good news is have been working out this week but bad news is in past week had a rest day and a yoga class and the workouts I did were very gentle ones so not much progress, but getting back on it after cold. I did a davina DVD on Thursday (not done the cardio section before, my 33p from charity shop bargain DVD). It was ridiculously easy so I felt like I must be a little fit. Or maybe they set the workouts to be very beginner level. I wondered if davina put on her huffing and puffing as I'm sure she'd be fit enough to do it much harder. Think walking on the spot as part of the warm up type easy! I modified to make it harder but then got very sore calves the next day so think I must've over done it or done something a bit wrong in my maxing modifications. In fabulous news today I managed my first 8k run in 47 minutes. I'm very proud of myself. After about 4K I just got in a kind of stride and kept plodding away at a good speed (for me) and really enjoyed it. I think if my calves weren't still hurting from Thursday I might've managed 10k. That's my next aim anyway. I got bitten by a dog though Shock . It was only a little one and didn't go through leggings or skin but it definitely gave me a nip of a bite on my leg. I am probably bu but dogs really bother me on runs. I don't want to stop and wait for owner to control their dog when I'm making good time and trying to keep my speed up. I feel if they are going to start running and jumping at people they should be on a lead. I'm obviously with my body language doing movements to show I don't want them and I'm scared of them! I've never been a dog owner though so I'm probably being a bit of a cyclist about it (as in as a driver I find cyclists very annoying but if I'm cycling I find cars annoying!). I'm quite single minded and want to keep going and don't want to have to stop for fear of a dog trying to chase me and bite me. Any hints on what I can do? Is there some kind of whistle I can blow at a pitch that scares them away from me that humans can't hear I wonder? It's only a little path between two roads that I have the dog issue on so could have a whistle in my mouth ready on that bit.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 03/12/2016 20:57

Blush another epic post. Bet your groaning that I'm back again having to read all that!

Purpleraindeer · 04/12/2016 06:44

2 weeks for a cold roastie?! Me too. It's depressing isn't it. Well done on the runs. That's great. I'm furious on your behalf re the dogs. That's terrible. Shame on the owner. TBH I'd just avoid that path if you can as the only things you can do is stop and then the dog calms a little, or shout to the owner to control the dog. Bloody outrageous that you're in this position really. I've been running for years and I've had them jump at me but never a nip.

Managed to get out for my walk again this weekend. Went a bit wrong as forgot the map so went wrong at a crucial point and ended up doing 11 miles. The last 45mins were in the dark but was on the footpaths by then. DH weighed my pack. I seem to have screwed up on the weight and it was 34lbs. It only needs to be 24lbs plus water so hopefully I'll feel that benefit on the day. Am bloody sore now - hips are killing me!

Sounds like you had an excellent workout week poppy. Good work.

yumyumpoppycat · 07/12/2016 20:26

Well done on the run purple - be interesting to see how you find it with lighter pack. Purple I am so impressed by your pushups.

Hope you are ok Roastie, that happened to a mum I know, think it was a real bite. If it comes near you like that again you should prob report it? I think it is difficult and dog walkers prob get annoyed by runners.

I did tabata power yest and chalean today so better than this time last year where very little in the way of exercise happened in Dec! Once we get closer to xmas I am planning to do move to t25s as a break until the tree is down etc and kids back at school.

yumyumpoppycat · 07/12/2016 20:30

Even with my limited jogging experience I have had dogs jump at me too... once we commented to a dog walker that our daughter was nervous of dogs and they said we shouldn't take her to the park Shock ...sorry mini rant over!

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 08/12/2016 21:01

Hellllooooo, I'm still here! Cold is much better now thanks and I'm touching wood to stay healthy with only three more days working until the Christmas break.

Yumy I'll probably have to do short workouts over Christmas break too with dd home. I should probably plan something. I'm hoping for max30 for Christmas so that'll give me something to do then :)

Purple doing extra weights sounds like awesome training as hating how easy you'll find it.

After my amazing 8k I did a core workout on Sunday (felt that the next day!), step class on Monday, 5k on Tuesday, and step class again today. Hoping for a quick swim tomorrow if I can squeeze it in after work. Step classes this week I nailed and was making it as hard as possible by jumping the steps rather than walk/stepping through them iykwim. Still feels like a need to work harder at times though.

In other news the non celeb celeb instructor I go to for today's class said in today's class she's getting married at the end of the month (to an extremely minor celeb that I'm not even sure I could class as a celeb but is more so than the instructor and this is the only celeb gossip I have from the horses mouth) at a local registry office.

Purpleraindeer · 10/12/2016 16:52

Glad you're feeling better roastie. I've been ill for the last week. Better now but still coughing. No exercise for a week - this is the longest I've gone without exercising in 2yrs Shock.
Did max 30 cardio (mth 1 one) just now. Was a bit hard work but not as bad as I was expecting. I'd been torturing myself with thoughts that I'd have lost all my fitness and put on 5kg in a week....

Aim for me is to max30 as normal right up until Xmas. Let's see

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 12/12/2016 14:36

Oh dear purple, hope you're feeling better now and the cough is shifting. It's the time of year for illnesses sadly (I can't wait for the Christmas holidays so I can hide away).

Did a 5k on Saturday and today and yesterday did turbofire hiit 20 and then hip hop abs workout to try from the secret site in the hope I could do core workout that wasn't too awful. I'm not sure if I was doing it wrong or if it was really easy (I was holding the core in and tilting etc as Shaun t told me to) but it didn't feel like much of a workout. Don't think I'll bother again. Shaun t was really funny in it though, quite camp and not at all like he is in insanity!

yumyumpoppycat · 13/12/2016 22:38

Purple sounds like a nasty one to keep you away from exercise.

Roastie I thought exactly the same about hip hop abs - worth it for the shaun t factor more than workout - funny to see him all goofy.

Period and feeling crampy so not exercising today. I had hoped to do after photos this week but feeling flabby although I weigh less, so going to leave it in the hope I can tone up a bit next year!

Am settling in to christmas holiday mode I am afraid! Had a bit of a result at the gym though (one where you just do classes) as I was running out of time to take some classes I had purchased but they have extended the deadline until Jan for me, so hopefully I will all be set for a fitness focused new year!

Hope everyone is back on top form soon Flowers

Purpleraindeer · 14/12/2016 21:09

Was totally dejected last night as started to feel ill again after a few days exercise so ended up having another day off.
Feel better today thank goodness - and did sweat intervals. Phew - thought I had some sort of perma-illness! I will admit I found it hard to persuade myself to workout tonight. I've got out of the habit

Poppy i bet you aren't actually flabby Smile I always feel that way too if I've had a break from exercise.

yumyumpoppycat · 15/12/2016 00:01

Glad you felt well enough to exercise today Purple, it is really easy not too at the moment with extra christmas stuff to do, winter hibernation instincts etc so extra kudos for exercising when not 100%. Fingers crossed I exercise tomorrow - already making excuses in my head!
