I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

yumyum I will read the Brazil Butt Lift review later - interesting since that is what I initially wanted to try Smile

Right, have procrastinated long enough about country heat...DD2 has been faffing but have got her settled now with the ipad so should be good to go.

Theromanempire · 10/10/2016 11:17

Ok, so I am done! Fortunately no interruptions from DD2 (thank god for Frozen)!

I did Country Swing which I think someone else has done - basically 22 exercises that you repeat 8 times and then put together in pairs. I quite enjoyed it but it reminded me a lot of a country-style Zumba class Hmm. Definitely an 'active recovery' day workout as I didn't remotely get out of breath but I could feel it working my abs as there is quite a lot of twisting involved. Couldn't get the hang of some moves (the footloose feet baffled me Blush) but enjoyed getting my Olivia Newton-John on Grin

Anyway, rather an eclectic bunch of dancers and I enjoyed having proper music rather than the electronic background noise that T25 and 21-day fix have.

Will keep doing it on active recovery day along with T25 stretch just for fun Smile

RoastieToastieReastie · 10/10/2016 14:56

Thermo I'm not sure if that's the one I did. There was definitely footloose on the jukebox at one point. I agree it was nice having proper songs but the difficulty level heart rate wise wasn't high.

Go purple with the hardcore week ahead.

Step class this morning and dripping in sweat (why is that when its easier than insanity and when I run I don't seem to sweat much!).

On a Christmas side track, think I'm nearly ready to start wrapping soon :)

Theromanempire · 10/10/2016 17:48

Nope definitely no Footloose tune - I would have definitely noticed that as it is one of my fave songs Grin

Purpleraindeer · 10/10/2016 21:27

21 day fix extreme cardio done! Had an impromptu break half way thru when broadband crashed. Was quite welcome.... but overall found it easier than when I did this workout last time - all those work outs with weights must be paying off!

Well done on country heat Smile

And roastie - have you done all your Xmas shopping?? Omg

yumyumpoppycat · 10/10/2016 22:00

Purple fantastic you are making progress but also high fives for the 22 pushups!

Roastie how are you going to stop yourself getting the twitch!! I have made a small start this weekend with some shopping! Am trying to reign it in a bit this year though.

Only Country heat sounds quite fun. I am defo staying away from 21 day fix next rest day and going for cize, homework or no homework.

Friday fight again tomorrow! Purple shall I move onto month 2 after this or or go through round 1 another time. Is it like T25 where the second pahse is actually easier than the first phase {hopeful}

Theromanempire · 10/10/2016 23:07

yumyum it is me that did country heat Grin 21-day fix is definitely not active recovery material! Pilates one is OK but none of the others are 'gentle' Wink

purple forgot to say well done on the 22 press ups, I can't do one Blush you lot are all so fit!

Have put a schedule together for me and DP from now until Christmas. Mix of 21 day fix and 21 day fix extreme (which we will have to modify a lot!) just to mix things up over the next 11 weeks.

Purpleraindeer · 11/10/2016 06:35

Poppy - go on to round 2. It is harder but I really love the round 2 work outs. Don't be disheartened if you max out really early. Am sure I was maxing after 6 or 7 mins. Max out sweat is my fave workout ever.

Roman - you and your dp should do 21 day fix extreme cardio. At one point we were doing squats and the camera zoomed in on autumns boobs. I got a right eyeful but I suspect it wasn't meant for me Grin

Theromanempire · 11/10/2016 07:22

poppy GrinGrin we did do cardio extreme at the weekend and I don't remember DP specifically commenting but, to be fair, he spends a lot of time commenting on Autumn's boobs during most of the workouts so I don't think I notice anymore Wink

yumyumpoppycat · 11/10/2016 08:17

Sorry theroman Blush we are getting all are names mixed up - Purple was the one who had an eyeful Grin

Where are Boobz, Only and Eleanor - bet they are working out even if not beachbodying.

yumyumpoppycat · 11/10/2016 08:19

OUR names gah!

RoastieToastieReastie · 11/10/2016 17:50

Just came to comiserate myself that I haven't got a place in the London marathon. I feel hugely dissapointed yet simultaneously relieved.

I think the missing ones are probably too busy working out to post on here.

Did a run this afternoon. I've never managed to do a run in afternoons as ice always got stitch after lunch no matter how long I leave it after eating and drinking and how light my lunch is. I tried the breathing out breathing technique and I think it helped although it didn't cure and I had to keep a slow steady pace and not really challenge myself because of the stitch. I stopped doing the breathing a few times and it did seem to get worse so there must be something in it.

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 11/10/2016 20:01

roastie sorry about your lack of marathon place...maybe next year? On a positive note, imagine how bad your stitch would have been for 26 miles Grin

yum how embarrassing for me to pull you up on saying the wrong name and then go and do it myself BlushBlush

Just done Upper Fix - upped my weights for some of the exercises from 4.5kg to 5kg. I know it was only 0.5kg but I could definitely tell!

yumyumpoppycat · 11/10/2016 23:07

Well done on upping the weights theroman it feels good to get better at things. Actually on the subject of improvements my pushus are not improving. I can do a few shallow ones but only one going down properly low. How do I improve!?

Roastie at least this gives you time to work on the running/stitch sitch and re-enter!

Purple I did round 1 fri fight night today (well maxed out early then managed to get to 20 minutes before I was nearly entirely modifiying) so hopefully this friday I will begin the second month/round of insanity max 30 discs...I am excited and scared.

Purpleraindeer · 12/10/2016 20:55

Sorry you're disappointed about the marathon roastie. Why don't you enter an autumn one - they're loads better as all the training is in the summer so it's nicer. Problem with London is you have to train through the winter.

Poppy don't really know what official advice is re press ups but I think building the number you can do even if they're shallow is better. It takes a long time to get stronger so don't get frustrated. Also what about doing lots of different ones - diamonds, shoulder, oblique etc to see if that builds up strength. The tabata work out in max30 phase 2 is good for them if i remember?

Did 21df lower workout tonight. Was a bit bold and used my 8kg weights. What a great work out - loads better than the p90x3 ones. My legs were shaking walking back down the stairs after my shower. Smile roastie - you could prob do that one with your injury. Give it a go!

Boobz · 12/10/2016 20:55

Hello!

Sorry for radio silence - life has been..... hectic, even by my standards! I haven't even Barry'ed for 10 days now - that's how bad it has been. I hope to get there on Friday but I have developed a cough over the last 24 hours so not sure if I should just write off the rest of this week and start again on Monday..

So we moved house! Moved in last Thursday and the house is a complete tip - boxes everywhere. One of those houses which when the old lady's furniture was removed you realised how bad a state it was really in - EVERYTHING needs redoing and we only have the budget to do about a third of it (if we're lucky). So it's going to be a longer term project but really really happy to be closer in and so close to the tube - makes the school commute SO much better, and loving living in the hustle and bustle of Brixton.

Job is crazy busy, DH has started his Mandarin lessons (2 years learning, full time as part of his job) and the kids are really annoying at the moment but that will be because of all the change.

So, yes am still here, no am not keeping up with exercise but now we are moved in finally, am hoping that I can get back on track next week.

How is everyone here?

Purpleraindeer · 13/10/2016 07:46

Hi boobz
Glad you're still with us! Congrats on the move. We had the same when we moved house. We had moved from some where nice to somewhere which needed a LOT of work and it was a bit of a horrible realisation. On the bright side it means you can make it your own. I love our house now, but it took a while get there!

Shame you're not working out. I find i feel really lethargic if I don't. Missed one on tues as I had to work late and felt all cross and rubbish on weds.

Amazingly my legs are ok (ish) after last nights beasting. Will do upper fix tonight to give them a rest. I reflected last night that lifting 2x 8kg dumbbells is exactly the weight I've lost since Xmas last yr. they felt very heavy!

Am talking to my DH about doing a mountain race in January. It's a day long and involves carrying a heavy pack. I really want to, but am a bit worried about the weight carrying bit. It is the SAS selection course so I guess it will be hard

And even better than that, I'm now down to 4 day weeks, so am off tomorrowSmile

yumyumpoppycat · 13/10/2016 16:11

Boobz really brill to hear from you. I am sure once you get settled you will be back on it with bells on.

Nothing new here really other than ds starting secondary. My 2 girls are still at primary. Work has been a bit more busy but quite quiet this week so I was able to do a trial gym pilates class today. It was very different to the one I tried before. I struggled with some of the core stuff so it will be good for me and hopefully for my terrible posture!

One good thing I checked the army bodyfat calculator thing and apparently my body fat is down from about 37 % last christmas to 23% and I would now be accepted in the army woo hoo!

Fantastic Purple 4 day weeks are the best - that's more or less what I do (varies depending on meetings etc). Mountain cycle sounds like a challenge and adveture, would love to do something daring like that at some point.

Theromanempire · 13/10/2016 19:28

Hi boobz, I am new around here but guess you are an old-timer? Welcome back anyway Grin what is Barry's?

yum I really like the pilates workout on 21 day fix so I guess a class would be good aswell. Apparently it really strengthens your core!

Have just done Total Body Cardio from 21 day fix - my least favourite one which is now done for this week! Am planning on doing Lower Fix tomorrow morning as I am on a day off...purple, hope my legs don't shake Shock

RoastieToastieReastie · 13/10/2016 19:36

Great to hear from y boobz, sounds like you are hugely busy. I'm glad you've got the moving done now though, and hopefully the house will be amazing in the end.

Did another new workout class at the gym today this time by a minor celebrity personal trainer type who has done various well known workout DVDs a few years ago. I don't want to out myself in rl to give more details (realise this will be hugely annoying). She's the best instructor I've had, even had the disco lights on in the workout room .

Fix workouts sounds really hard. Purple aalso I don't think I could even do the lower as I can't lift free weights.

Yumy that body fat decrease is incredible. Alas I have a body fat calculator and think my current percentage is more like your last year result. I tell myself excess skin means the result is higher than it should be but I know I'm kidding myself.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 14/10/2016 06:14

Poppy - wow that bodyfat reduction is amazing! You must look really lean and really different from when you started. I'm so impressed!

Roastie - sorry forgot you couldn't even hold free weights. Just a thought - what about a weighted vest? I just find the fix work outs hard as they're often cardio and weights together. Urgh.

Did upper fix last night. I'm so weedy. Also kept getting the stupid band tangled up. I've now achieved muscle ache all over. I like that feeling as you know you've done something good. But I don't actually like the pain if you know what I mean.

Purpleraindeer · 14/10/2016 06:15

Oh yes roastie - I've been speculating on who the minor celeb could be. I was going with davina.

RoastieToastieReastie · 14/10/2016 06:32

I should have said the celebrities (who in themselves are minor celebrities) she has done personal training and workout DVDs with are more famous than her, you wouldn't know who she is I expect unless you had one of her DVDs. Speaking of Davina, I picked up one of her workout DVDs last week end for 30p in a charity shop so I'm looking forward to giving that a go. It has an abs routine so even if I never use the other workouts hopefully I might use that one.

Purple I love that good pain you get from working hard, I feel really good when I get that [weirdo]

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 14/10/2016 07:57

purple I thought Davina aswell but then would you describe her as a 'minor' celebrity (or maybe I am giving her more credit than she deserves Grin)

Do you do all of Upper Fix with the band or as a mix with free weights?

yum have you got any before/after shots?

Theromanempire · 14/10/2016 07:59

Cross post roastie unlikely I would know as the only workout dvd's I had were Rosemary Cowley and Claire from Steps BlushBlushBlush

So glad I discovered Beach body Grin
