I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

Flowers roastie. What does this mean? Will you be able to work out treatment options or what exercises you can reintroduce? My dad has to specifically exercise his arthritic shoulder (he is 65 and very active), he gets up at 5.00 every morning and does the exercises religiously.

With the weight gain 2lbs is ok (I honestly can lose that in one toilet visit Blush ) but I understand how it must feel scary to see it creeping up after years of it successfully coming down. Is it worth coming up with a new diet plan and focusing more on that with exercise just for fitness? A healthy eating book might get you excited, I am really into my new blood sugar diet recipe book at the moment, or maybe helmsley and hesmley or Madeline shaw get the glow fast ( these do have some meat options but also veggie ones too) , hmm or Anna jones is supposed to be good for veggies?

Talking of diets what are peole doing? In theory my diet plan at the moment is 2 x 800 cal fast days a week aiming for a 1300 daily average over the course of a week on My fitness Pal with higher cals at weekend thanks to the 2 800 days .

I chaleaned today Push 2 - I skipped the snorey warm up and cool down and enjoyed it.

Theromanempire · 05/10/2016 21:10

Oh no Roastie, hope the prognosis is better than expected and that you can work round the issues.

Did Lower fix today which is hard - lots of squats and squat holds. Am sure I am going to feel it tomorrow!

Love hearing about all your other workouts - gives me motivation to carry on and try new stuff later Smile

Purpleraindeer · 06/10/2016 07:35

Roastie Flowers. Fingers crossed for the elbow diagnosis. it is crap now but I'm sure it will feel better when you know what you can/can't do rather than at the moment where you try things and get frustrated when they make it worse.
I know the 2lb gain feels bad but it honestly isn't. I gained the same on hols and it went within a week or so. Poppy had a good idea re a new cookbook. I bought Joe wicks lean in 15. All portions need to be halved for me but the food is good.

I did gamma ripd up last night. I had remembered it as easy (was knackered yesterday after being on my feet for most of it!) but got started and then realised it had been easy when I had my 2kg weights. With my 4kgs and 8kgs it was a different story....

Roman - am thinking I might do a run of 21 day fix for the variety. Might have to mute Autumn tho Smile

Theromanempire · 06/10/2016 09:52

purple 8 kgs?? Shock I do a maximum of 4.5 kgs - don't think I could even lift 8kgs Grin

I quite like Autumns chatter - she explains the correct form a lot (I used to find the pace in T25 which Shaun T moved through all the exercises didn't really leave much time to explain the correct form).

Am just about to go to bed after a night shift - am planning on doing Flat Abs Fix later.

Purpleraindeer · 06/10/2016 10:00

Meant to say - am not dieting or cal counting at all at the moment. I have a max weight I don't want to go beyond (55kg) but as long as I'm below that Im happy!

RoastieToastieReastie · 06/10/2016 15:25

Thank you lovely ladies. I'll await seeing a specialist to tell me what this MRI actually means for me. It's been 2-3 weeks of nothing really using my elbow workout wise at all and it still feels no better . I love the idea of a new cookbook, I might look into that but I'm so special diet restricted there usually aren't many applicable recipes.

Today I am weighing all my food and logging on mfp. I used to do this but haven't for a couple of years. I think for a one off it's incredibly useful to see how much I actually eat on an average day.

Purple was that 8kg on each hand? Kudos to you. At my best at body pump I was lifting nearly 10kg on each side but that was on a barbell on my shoulders no handheld.

Did a run this morning and went for length rather than speed and did 6k when my usuAl is 4-4.5k. Had a steady pace but again I got pesky stitch. Every. Single. Time. I always get stitch in my stomach and often in my shoulder too (!). Today I even had stitch in my boob Shock . I'm thinking of posting on mn about it. I'd had a small bowl of cereal over two hours before and two mugs of tea and a glass of water finishing 2-3 hours before.

Roastie I seem to have a very worrying compulsion that has developed recently after some large library fines to buy every healthy eating cookbook published as soon as it is cheap on amazon, so let me know what your restrictions are and I am on the case ;)

Theroman kudos to you for working out around shifts that must add an extra level of complication.

purple it is funny, BB workouts dont seem to get easier as we just end up putting more into them.

I did tabata strength today and was truly pants, anything with the word diamond in it makes my heart (or pelvic floor in case of jumps) sink. I have been thinking about insanity class but no way based on that performance!

RoastieToastieReastie · 06/10/2016 18:17

Yumy here is your challenge (it's a big one!). Vegetarian, gluten free, no beans or lentils (IBS), nothing spicy (just plain fussy), no cauliflower, broccoli, kale, parsnip, swede, turnip, cabbage, sprouts (I like them all but again it's IBS) no courgette (bad experience with eating this and morning sickness and can no longer face it), no added sugar including any syrups but fruit and a little dried fruit ok. Erm, I hope that doesn't sound as bad as it feels writing it down. Ella's kitchen quinoa pizza has become something of a staple for the freezer to whizz out when I can't find a thing else.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 06/10/2016 19:06

That is a pretty big challenge! Havent actually read this book, but would this one work honestly healthy the cleanse book by the same author is £8 at the works and they have a 20% off code.
the works]. If i see something more on the nose I will let you know! I also saw this on amazon, but no idea if its any good [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/Low-Fodmap-Vegan-What-When-Anything/dp/1570673373/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1475777037&sr=1-1&keywords=low+fodmap+vegetarian low foodmap vegan

RoastieToastieReastie · 06/10/2016 19:26

Hi have wondered about fodmap diets Yumy and have a book on it but didn't go any further As I'm so restricted anyway, but may work for recipes. Just got the sample of the honestly healthy book to my kindle but annoyingly no recipes on the free sample it's all about alkaline eating (which as much as I respect people doing it I just don't want to limit everything more).

I just realised I said Ella's kitchen quinoa pizza when I meant deliciously Ella Blush

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 06/10/2016 20:07

That's annoying about the sample - the first most helpful review on amazon for honestly healthy had a list of the recipes but that would only give a basic idea of ingredients - there is mention of kale and beans on the list that I had missed!

yumyumpoppycat · 07/10/2016 16:00

I did chalean push 3 today, otherwise known as the one with the boots! Took it easy as had a couple of niggles but all fine now so glad I went ahead and did it. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

yumyumpoppycat · 07/10/2016 16:08

Hi again (you dont get rid of me that easily ;) ) I have been looking on the blog that the chalean picture came from and had to share the review for country heat - please dont be cross line dancers, it is a funny review though! dysfunctionalparrot.com/health-and-fitness/review-country-heat/

Theromanempire · 07/10/2016 19:23

Wow, those boots Shock what on earth possessed her to wear those??

Very funny review of Country Heat Grin have seen some before and after photos but am a bit cynical as I can't believe you would lose that much weight from basic low impact dancing Hmm

Am planning on giving it a whirl this weekend alongside a stretch workout. Will report back.

RoastieToastieReastie · 08/10/2016 07:07

Love that country heat review! I'm also dubious of the before and after photos, maybe they had a very restricted calorie intake and did other stuff too. Those boots are shocking, when would they ever be a good idea?!

Went swimming yesterday and did 40 lengths of the very small gym pool which aces my last pb of 34 lengths. Started to work a bit in technique of backstroke too. Even tried front crawl but just find the breathing too difficult and can't get a grasp on it, I suppose I just need to persevere and practice as I can see its more of a physically cha, kinging stroke.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 08/10/2016 07:36

Country heat??!! You're crazy. Do let us know how you get on.

Roastie - Lean in 15 would have been perfect except for the vegetarian bit. Shame. Have you thought about doing his sss 90 day transformation - they give you a diet plan so would have to work some recipes out for you. Is £150 tho. Eleanor who used to post on here had really good results.

Went for a run again yesterday. Was good - was away with work so got up early and went for a run as the sun rose. Didn't bother to work out how long or how fast which was relaxing in its own way. Rest day today Smile

RoastieToastieReastie · 08/10/2016 08:55

Purple sounds lovely watching the sun coming up running. I'm hoping for a run later this morning at a local park when out and about. I'm wearing running gear into town in the hope I can't talk myself out of it! £150 I just can't justify ATM unfortunately since I didn't cancel my overpriced gym membership so I can use their pool. Need to hunt out a new swimming costume as my current one is very gaping and there have been numerous near flashing incidents Shock . Someone on the thread was looking for recommendations for swimming costumes a while ago but I can't remember who, if you see this did you find a good one? Needs to have some kind of bosom support!

OP posts:
RoastieToastieReastie · 08/10/2016 20:49

Right, managed my jog this morning. Ridiculously slow time and rubbish effort but a hilly terrain with lots of grassy lumpy paths which made a huge difference, usually my running route is relatively flat so despite the slow time I think it challenged me more in different ways. Hoping for insanity in the morning.

Hope you all had a good workout today if you did one.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 09/10/2016 16:28

Hello!
Forgot to reply to whoever was getting the stitch when running - I get them too. It's horrible. There is a way to get rid of it - you breath out hard when your foot hits the ground I can't remember whether it's the same side as the stitch or the opposite but google it. I'd try speedo for proper swimming costumes.

My lulu lemon workout stuff came today. Exciting! Christened it with max interval plyo. Yay.

Theromanempire · 09/10/2016 20:02

Evening all Smile

purple lovely workout gear and a very tidy floor!!

roastie I used to suffer from stitch when running and Googled a breathing technique to help. Can't remember what it was exactly but it was something to do with a breathing technique of 2 steps per in breath and 1 step for each out breath so you alternate which foot is on the out breath (of you Google alternate breaths for stitch, am sure you will find it).

Plugging away on 21 day fix - lower fix today and my legs burned!! Active recovery day tomorrow so going to try Country Heat followed by t25 stretch. Will report back on Country Heat Grin

RoastieToastieReastie · 09/10/2016 20:38

Purple great gear, I close the colours. I need some new workout gear for running for when the weather gets colder and thinking of going to tkmaxx at some point.

Thermo do report back on country heat (and hope you find the backing dancers as amusing as I do in how enthusiastic they are).

Thank you so much for the stitch advice, I'd never heard of that breathing technique before (and I've googled how to stop stitch in the past and not discovered this) I'm going to try it next time.

Did insanity pure cardio today. Nearly gave up after the warm up as my calf hurt after yesterday's jog but decided to keep going with it and felt like I really did better than last time I did that workout a few weeks ago despite only doing one insanity a week on rotation. I think the running is helping my cardio fitness which is great that I'm actually seeing something good come from my modified workout routine.

OP posts:
RoastieToastieReastie · 09/10/2016 20:39

Love the colours not close the colours

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 10/10/2016 07:53

Really interesting about the stitch as I think its my breathing technique that lets me down big time with running.

Gorgeous colours Purple agree too that your carpet is immaculate Grin misses the point

The review for brazil buttlift is also really funny dysfunctionalparrot.com/health-and-fitness/brazil-butt-lift/

I thought I would try cize for my 'active recovery' yesterday as it had a good review on that website but ds was using the laptop for homework so inconsiderate so I did bonus dirty 30 from Hammer and chisel, not the best choice for a relaxed workout. I had to go lighter than the lightest weight on the powerblock for some moves.

Chalean push 1 today.

Purpleraindeer · 10/10/2016 09:14

Thanks for all the carpet related compliments! Smile

I've decided to go hardcore this week - am going to do the 21 day fix extreme workouts Shock. Prob will skip the Pilates and yoga ones tho. I will be crying and regretting this later on after I do my first workout obviously....

Also my DH has just been nominated for the 22 press ups every day for 22 days challenge. He was a bit appalled (and secretly impressed) when I just did 22 full press ups straight off when he struggled to do them with full range of motion. Thanks Shaun t.

Theromanempire · 10/10/2016 09:23

purple I have just started the 21-day fix extreme workouts Wink tried them all apart from pilates, yoga and plyo - not interested in yoga. Will try the pilates one, just not had a chance yet. We can be workout buddies Grin they are hard-core but still good. Right, country heat is calling me Grin
