I hope you can find me! I went to post in the old thread but it had reached its limit.

Here's to an energetic, fit, healthy, and strong summer ahead.

Hi all,

Did step aerobics class again today. Two newbies and one gave up part way through because of the routine. Made me feel even more proud for managing it as it must be quite regular for people to give up because of th complex routines. Nailed routine, sweat like there's no tomorrow but still felt like I wanted to work harder!

Feeling rubbish now though, think I'm getting dds bug, nooooooooo!

Hi, hope you don't mind me popping on here to ask a question? I have done T25 for a while now and fancy a change - I am considering buying Brazilian Butt Lift. Does anyone have any experience of this programme? Does it work? Would it give me flat abs aswell?

RoastieToastieReastie · 19/09/2016 19:18

Hello thero. I've not done Brazilian butt lift before so can't help you I'm afraid, maybe someone else will be able to help? Would be interested in how you found it if you do go for it.

Theromanempire · 19/09/2016 20:05

roastie thanks anyway. Not sure many people have done Brazilian Butt Lift - doesn't seem that popular. May investigate some of the other options instead - any suggestions?

pontificationcentral · 19/09/2016 20:13

Thanks purple - I'll pop back once the deed is done and wobble in the corner!

yumyumpoppycat · 19/09/2016 20:24

Hi Theroman , I gave buttlift a try briefly, apparently the abs workout is very good and worth a try, its a bit dated though - lots of perma smiling women doing the workout!

yumyumpoppycat · 19/09/2016 20:35

Sorry Theroman, as an alternative maybe try 21 day fix or T25 instead of buttlift?

Roastie hope you don't catch the cold! Actually Buttlifft might be be worth a look at for you if you can find them on the secret site, as mainly lower body focused, the workouts I tried were quite hard too (well for me anyway). Btw country heat is on Amazon now!

Chalean again today think I am back to insanity max 30 disc 1 tomorrow. I found my kneck was hurting when I lifted heavy weights, do any of you know if that is poor technique or should I go lower with weight? Its amazing how much harder it is just going up a couple of lbs from an easy weight.

Good luck Pontification!

Hope your legs are still ok purple

RoastieToastieReastie · 19/09/2016 20:38

Thero insanity is great for the core as everything is all about the core really, plus Shaun t is ace. Do it!!!!

Pontification let me know what you go for in the end and good luck.

X posted yumy. Country heat is £66 so there's no way I will be buying that to quality control road test it to report to you all what it's like then! If anyone spies it on the secret site I would be willing to be the tester to fill you all in on it Grin . It might be fun! (Plus I'm the only one I think to have done line dancing in the past and quite enjoyed it)

OP posts:
RoastieToastieReastie · 19/09/2016 20:44

Sorry yumy, meant to say, maybe go lower reps initially with a heavier weight? There's that point where you're on the weight you're using and it doesn't feel a huge challenge but then you go up weights and it feels really hard! I'm not sure what the best thing to do it but I usually try to stick with heavier but less reps and gradually build up reps every time. Could be form though. Fwiw the doctor specialist I saw a week or so ago knew all about Bb and had done t25, but he also said every week he gets a number of people come to see him who have injured themselves doing bb/similar home workouts Sad. I'm one of the statistics :( . Be careful, don't be me!

Theromanempire · 19/09/2016 20:49

Thanks for all your advice Smile what is this secret site you are mentioning?

Saw an advert for Cize earlier but I absolutely cannot dance - maybe Brazilian Butt Lift isn't for me either as I imagine it is quite 'dancy' Hmm

RoastieToastieReastie · 19/09/2016 20:55

Thero I will pm you about the secret site. Cize is dancey (I really enjoy the cheography element to it) but can't help with butt lift afraid. Les mills pump DVDs might be good for the butt area, mine got their most toned when I was doing that three times a week and cardio twice a week on top of that. I don't think pump is that great for abs but you could combine it with a separate ab routine.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 19/09/2016 21:24

Butt lift is a bit of a mix of workouts - quite a lot of ballet esqu= moves if I remember but not dancey like hip hop abs say.

Sobering thought Roastie, I dont have it in me really to push myself so far though I think, unless I injure myself by falling over the sofa Blush I think I need to start logging the weights, actually thinking about it, chalean says if you cant get to 10 reps out of the 12 then go lighter and if you could do more reps go heavier. I think its the fact my arms were ok but my kneck wasnt Confused

Fingers crossed the workout goes onto the secret site it prob would be quite fun.

Purpleraindeer · 20/09/2016 20:34

Zzzzzz Sad I'm sooooo tired
Turns out my legs weren't ok after duathlon but only worked that out 3mins into starting tabata power yesterday. Ploughed on and completed it and was in bed at 9pm. Did evil total body cardio from 21 day fix tonight as knew i was out tomorrow so will get a rest day thank goodness

Haven't properly read back but welcome Roman!

Roastie - am not at all surprised the doc sees lots of injuries from Bb programmes. Some are much too intense to be for beginners but they market themselves that way (insanity) and they demand 6x per week which is too much for many of us (me included.)

Right. Off to doze in front of screen then bed. Hope you're all well!

RoastieToastieReastie · 20/09/2016 20:48

Purple you're right with the injuries. When I did insanity previously I did it 3-4 times a week (DD wasn't at school and it was the most I could do with her around) and found that a struggle and I had prepped myself with another easier workout to get back into fitness. I can't imagine being s complete beginner and doing that on the full programme.

Well, t25 speed 3 today. I shouldn't really have done it because of the amount of burpee moves but I couldn't face a run and needed something quick and harder than turbo fire hiit. Didn't do push ups and modified a couple of plank based things but got through it.

Purple hoe your legs sort themselves out quickly.

In good news I've got my MRI next week Shock

That's brilliant news Roastie Flowers

My dp is nodding in approval that you aren't resting Purple, he reckons that will get rid of the stiffness, personally I think a nice bath will help maybe with a glass of prosecco and some chocolate.

I did Insanity pure cardio and got to 11 minutes, I did start to modify after a while as worried my pelvic floor might collapse, scissor jumps are evil.

Purpleraindeer · 20/09/2016 21:28

That's great re the mri roastie.

Don't worry poppy - I just had a slice of cake to help me heal..... Smile

I love pure cardio but it is knackering. the frog jumps are my nemesis. Normally when he says 30s to go is when I'm mentally defeated and take a break

Mivery · 21/09/2016 15:10

I'm looking to start up a new program and I think I might give Country Heat a go:www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/country-heat-dance-workout.do

Has anyone done it yet? How'd you like it? I feel like something dance focused could be a lot of fun.

RoastieToastieReastie · 21/09/2016 15:24

We haven't tried it yet Mivery but let me know how you get on. Have you done any bb workouts before?

Did p90x3 isometrix today as couodnt go to yoga as DD home ill from school. I'm tentatively hoping for a jog in the morning.

Theromanempire · 21/09/2016 21:09

Thank you for the welcome and all you advice Smile

I have pretty much discounted Brazilian Butt Lift as I don't think it is going to offer what I want Confused Need to make a decision so I can buy whatever I want but I am just procrastinating now Grin

Whatever it is you are all doing sounds pretty awful with maxing out and modifying - is it Insanity? I think I will avoid that Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 21/09/2016 22:29

Hope you find something theroman! Insanity max 30 - it's fun AFTER the event .. during is torture ;)

Chalean again {small snore} its quite good though and I didnt pull on my kneck as much. I am feeling smaller but not really muscley.

Do let us know mviery, autumn calabresey (?) seems pretty popular, hope you like it would be great to hear how you get on.

Hotlingbling · 22/09/2016 22:01

Hi can I join?
I just signed up for the 30 day free on-demand trial. I'm going to try insanity. I need to lose 2 stone.
Isit really really hard?😓

yumyumpoppycat · 23/09/2016 08:05

Welcome Hotling :) I have only done a couple of workouts on insanity once or twice so can't really advise. It is hard but there are stretching breaks etc, my tip is don't try and keep up with shaun t. Also all the other people on the dvd are struggling too! Let us know how you get on!

I am going to do insanity max 30 tabata power today...I am tired and have a head ache (prob thanks to 2 slices of cake yesterday) so taken ibuprofen and hopefully the workout will blast the cobwebs out.

Hotlingbling · 23/09/2016 12:30

I done the fitness test but had to stop at the forth exercise. I'm really unfit. Is there a beach body work out that is easier?

RoastieToastieReastie · 23/09/2016 15:05

Hot hello! There are lots of easier workouts but imo insanity is one of the best. My advice is the warm up is part of the workout do don't worry if you find the warm up hard. You can do the moves slower than they do and take breaks when you need to. You could try a Charlene workout as they are easier. T25 alpha might also be a good place to start.

Rest day today but did a jog yesterday. Only 25 minutes but beat my last time. Last run was to 70s Queen and yesterday's was to 80s Michael Jackson and some super catchy tunes by the wiggles (dds fave and I have to admit I like some of the songs too!).

Thermo did you decide what to go with?

Insanity and another jog at week end hopefully.
