Starting a new thread for April for anyone doing the 30 Day Shred and/or other JM workouts.

Everyone welcome Smile

Hmm, two working days at the computer seems to have upset my wrist. I was planning Shred again for nap time but maybe I will do L1 with big weights so there isn't as much plank?
While on the topic, I really find those plank with weights uncomfortable, it's the knuckles resting on the weights.

lilacclery · 10/04/2015 13:11

imogen thanks for assuaging my guilt somewhat!
trenzalor well done you, did you do it every single day?
lamzig after reading your post about diet I got an email offering me the book for €1 so I'm looking forward to that!

Trenzalor · 10/04/2015 13:44

I started by having one day off a week but now I prefer to do it every day. I'll probably swap tomorrow's for a run though. Then I've got another couple of level three days to finish up

ErrolTheDragon · 10/04/2015 16:13

drspouse - curious as to what you mean by 'the knuckles resting on the weights' - can't visualise what you mean. Just trying to work out whether there could be something odd about your weights maybe?

MsRaspberryJam · 11/04/2015 11:21

I did level one of Hard Body this morning. I didn't notice it being longer than twenty minutes, even though it says it is forty five. Maybe that means the running time in total?

Anyway, I survived!

drspouse · 11/04/2015 11:43

Errol hmm, not too sure, let me think it through...
So in that exercise you are on all fours (for the Anita version) and have a weight in each hand. And I think what I mean is that all my weight is resting on my knuckles (on the carpet or mat) but also on the heel of my hand which is on the handle part of the weight. So the carpet is scratchy and the handle is hard!

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2015 13:36

Ah, right. Sounds like you need to try it with bigger dumbells. Grin Actually I'm being serious - the ones I use are big enough to have clearance underneath. And the 'shaft' part maybe would be bigger so less pressure. Ideally soft grip ones (though the 10lb ones I use for that are plain iron).

Have finally started 30DS. Was feeling slightly smug earlier as it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, then my ability to climb the stairs this evening seemed to have vanished completely! Weighed myself in Boots this morning and 13st 12lb shows how committed I have been to major biscuit consumption over the last few months! Am now hoping to show the same dedication to 30DS. Fingers crossed!

blodynmawr · 12/04/2015 10:33

Did level 1 of Hard Body on Friday and had a day off yesterday.
Will do it again later today.
Quite enjoyed it but was only able to manage the beginner moves in the main! It seems like the Jillian attempt on an Insanity type workout given the faster pace. Will stick with it as an alternative to BFBM and NMTZ which are my other favourites.

drspouse · 12/04/2015 16:46

I've done L1 twice new to avoid the plank and wrist hurting issue - I've used my biggest weights (not very big though), deep squats, and used my small weights for the jumping jacks and boxing. I do feel I'm pushing myself more than when I did L1 before.
And my elastic waist exercise trousers are falling down... Haven't lost much weight though. I definitely heard the scales say "Easter eggs!" last week.

MsRaspberryJam · 12/04/2015 17:38

I did level three of Killer Abs today, which is an excellent title. KILLER ABS!

Lots of hopping and jumping. There's one bit where you're on hands and knees and she makes you hop up and down like that and clap. Looks ridiculous but was kind of fun.

BiggerYellowTaxi · 12/04/2015 17:47

Hello! I've finally recovered from a string of illnesses and got back on the Jillian bandwagon. I did Body Revolution Phase 1 Workout 1 today. I loved it! Really dreading excited to get up at 5.30 tomorrow and do workout 2. I've found the Phase 1 workouts on YouTube but have ordered the DVDs. I'm glad I've got some BR buddies.

Lambzig · 12/04/2015 17:50

Errr, does dancing myself silly with my children and DSIL at a family party for hours last night count at all? My poor feet, why am I too vain to take my heels off?

Crazy long day at work tomorrow, but will be back to Jillian on Tuesday.

Trenzalor · 12/04/2015 20:08

I've just started RI30. It's a nice change after level three of the Shred! I never do very well on the first day though as I'm so busy looking at what I'm actually meant to be doing! Still broke a sweat though!

lilacclery · 12/04/2015 20:34

Third week of 30ds aiming to do it 3 times today tomo eve & thurs eve as past two weeks only did it twice.

jemma2609 · 12/04/2015 20:48

Killer buns level 2 today...it is indeed a killer! The chair moves make it a bit different. Still hate surrenders though Grin

BiggerYellowTaxi · 12/04/2015 21:49

I really, really hate surrenders, jemma

ErrolTheDragon · 12/04/2015 23:18

Gosh, lots of you active over the weekend!

I used to hate surrenders too - couldn't do a full set with my smallest weights but now I can do them with the next size up which feels good.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/04/2015 23:22

Drspouse - if your trousers are loose but you've not lost much weight that suggests you've lost visceral fat but gained some muscle which is good!

BiggerYellowTaxi · 13/04/2015 06:27

Body Revolution Phsse 1 workout 2 done.

ImogenQuy · 13/04/2015 07:18

Body Rev Phase 1, week 3, workout 3 done. It's noticeably more difficult than workout 1 but still OK. I can see that I'm really going to loathe the resistance cable by the time I get to the end of the programme, though. BiggerYellowTaxi, I'm glad there are a few of us on here doing it.

coalscuttle, I only do it 5 times a week, not 6 (skipping one of the cardio workouts). Even if I didn't hate cardio I agree that 6 is too much.

Lambzig, dancing definitely counts!

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2015 08:34

DD back to school... time I was dressed and getting started. Still not decided what to do this week! Bought new jeans yesterday which look good on but rear-view changing room mirrors make me think I should do some KB&T ahead of the summer. Grin Need to combine with some upper bod though.

drspouse · 13/04/2015 10:50

Thanks Errol, that's what I'm hoping!

Today's workout: pushing both children with the buggy to the CM, first time for them to go though DH is picking them up. I'm going to Pilates later too. It's only 15 minutes but DS in particular is heavy... Coming home is the steep hill though!

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2015 11:16

KB&T L1 done. I'd forgotten the nasty static stuff in the first curcuit but the rest wasn't too bad and (unlike in the past) I didn't have to pause at all.

ImogenQuy · 14/04/2015 07:12

Body Rev Phase 1 Week 3 workout 4 done. Not too bad apart from the cat deciding to come and sit on the mat underneath me while I was doing a plank with leg raises - I suppose it was an incentive not to collapse! But now I've done workouts 3 and 4 once, that means tomorrow is cardio - blech.

No More Trouble Zones was great preparation for this, actually - there's very little in the early workouts that wasn't in NMTZ.

MsRaspberry, I really like Killer Abs, though there are one or two moves in L3 that I just can't do because they're too hard on my wrists.
