Starting a new thread for April for anyone doing the 30 Day Shred and/or other JM workouts.

Everyone welcome Smile

I'm nearly at the end of W3 of RI30 and I really don't like it. I think the moves are a little desperate and not necessarily the most effective. It's like she prioritised the 'no move repeated' over what is the best move. I miss the Shred for time as well - those ten extra minutes make a lot of difference!

imogen I am cheating, too. No chance for cardio on the Saturday, but we'll probably do a long uphill walk.

BR Cardio 1 today.

Our heating broke down, so I might have to do a double session tomorrow.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/04/2015 22:48

Forgot to check in earlier, kb&t l2 again today.

Trends lot, you obviously really didn't like the ri30!Grin I think I got to like it more after the first time around.

ImogenQuy · 30/04/2015 07:06

Body Rev Phase 2 week 5 workout 5 (second time), with bigger weights than on Monday for some of the moves, and the cat sitting on me during the tricep press (which adds three kilos and a degree of unpredictability!).

MrsSteven, I really like NMTZ, but it is long. If I'm going to do it before work I have to split it and do the first four circuits one day and the last three the next day, which feels a faff, so I tend only to do it on days when I haven't got to go to work or take DS to school.

Lambzig · 30/04/2015 10:05

Body Rev, Phase 1, week 3 (at last!), workout 3 first time. Oh my gosh that's a step up. I nearly died. Last time I had done 30DS and RI30 before I started Body Rev. This time I am starting it from six months with no exercise.

I got through it (apart from when DS decided the funniest thing would be to take me out every time I got into tree pose), but feel like I am too old for this! Imogen, you are racing through it.

Trenzalor · 30/04/2015 12:37

Oops my MN app was being really funny last night.

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 30/04/2015 13:34

L2D4 done and I Eve did double jump rope correctly Grin I think I did it by accident!! I was watching Jillian and it just came to me!

Thanks Imogen & Bloody I'm the same, I'm pushed a bit for time, I usually do the shread when dd has her nap at this time, and the half hour is good because I get to do a few other things before she wakes and dd2 comes in the door form school....so breaking it into sections might work. I'm going to have a go at the whole thing on Sunday as dh will be here and he can keep the dds occupied! Grin at your cat Imogen they have their uses! Is Body Rev a Jillian workout too??

Errol how'd you get on dress hunting??? I'm crap at advice re clothes, I'd go everywhere in jeans and tees if I could!!!

drspouse · 30/04/2015 16:16

Do share the secret of double jump rope! Please!

ErrolTheDragon · 30/04/2015 16:39

NMTZ again today.

I can't do double jump rope properly - I can jump reasonably now but no way can I do the double-speed arm twidding!

MrsS - I live in jeans and Ts too. I may be able to use an existing dress but really need a new jacket. Both the ones I have predate DD. And shoes. And tights, urgh.

gingercat12 · 30/04/2015 18:42

Oh, no I am the same. My interview in two weeks time gives me nightmares. What shall I wear?! Just bought new make-up as well.

Still BR Work-out 2.

ImogenQuy · 01/05/2015 07:07

Body Rev Phase 2 week 5 workout 6 (second time). Ouch. Lambzig, I know what you mean about feeling too old for this. For some reason it was a real struggle today, even though the cat was sulking and didn't interfere, and my quads hurt - possibly because thanks to pressure of work I haven't cycled once this week.

ginger, could you wear trousers to your interview? I'm a jeans and t-shirt person as well but have to be smart for work, so I've effectively evolved a uniform: dark trouser suit, pale top, small earrings. In summer I sometimes get very daring and wear a coloured suit. Ebay is marvellous for interview clothes.

JugglingLife · 01/05/2015 11:25

Hi everyone, just did my first ever shred. It wasn't pretty viewing, flab jumping everywhere, sweating like a piglet, completely unable to do push ups but I did it! Smile

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 01/05/2015 13:50

L2D5 done! I wanted to see if being able to do double jump rope yterday was an accident so waited to see if I could do it again today, and I did Shock I did have to focus on watching Jillian and Natalie though....it's like Errol said, I jumped high enough so that I could do the twiddly thing twice before my feet hit the ground, if that makes sense?? So your jumping higher and staying up a bit longer than you would with single jump rope....and it is hard and does hurt Grin

Got some heavier weights this morning too in agros, 2kg, didn't want to go too mad!! And I used them today, which was a killer especially on the butterfly raises.

Hi jugglinglife well done on your day of shread, ohh I wouldn't worry, I'm the same, not a pretty sight doing it, but we will be when we're finished it Grin

Good luck with your interview ginger and hope you've got yourself sorted by now Errol
Some days are harder than others imogen maybe a rest day would help??

Have a good weekend folks, I plan to do NMTZs on Sunday to see what it's like...although I'm out for a family do on Saturday evening and I do plan to be sensible Confused Grin

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 01/05/2015 13:53

That's meant to say 'your first day of shread' imagine doing a whole day of it Grin

mummyrunnerbean · 01/05/2015 16:56

So I've finally got to day 9 of level one (12 days in Hmm) and last night during the course of a tickle war DP suddenly announced that I no longer have fat elbows! As one of said elbows was at the time lodged in his ribs, I feel he was in a good position to judge.

I mean, I'd have preferred a noticeable difference to my waist or bum or something but who am I to judge which body parts should benefit from the great JM?

In other news, I'm TERRIFIED of level 2. This thread is amazing inspiration though Smile.

Lambzig · 01/05/2015 19:54

This morning I did body Rev, phase 1, week 3 workout 4 first time. I have remembered this is my favourite workout ever. Love every exercise in it and managed to do all of it really intensely. Hurt like mad now.

Juggling well done, day 2 is hardest but after that it does get easier, promise.

JugglingLife · 01/05/2015 20:10

Mummy you made me laugh, I shall ask DH to check my elbows in 8 days. I WILL complete my 30 day shred and repeat

Lambzig · 02/05/2015 14:00

Body Rev, phase 1, week 3, utterly tedious cardio done, although I did manage to "get dancey with it", so perhaps I am getting a little cardio fitness. Not sure I can make myself do it four more times.

I hope those ladies with Jillian wear a proper sports bra when they work out normally, I fear for them.

grannygrotts · 02/05/2015 21:09

Back to the beginning of JM30 day shred for me. Got as far as first day of L2 in March, so need to do better.

Not done any exercise for almost whole of April - string of visitors during March and over Easter and then as the last of them went succumbed to the very irritating chest infection which was doing the rounds. Still, at least I managed to avoid the D&V which the rest of the family got.

So, D1L1 done. Forgot how tough the strength exercises are. May have to go down to 1kg weights tomorrow as my arms feel like lead. And, crikey, I didn't realise I was so stiff - clicked horribly during the hip circle warm-ups! Last time I did find the repetition of the same exercises a little boring, so this time i'm going to add 10 mins to the end just for a little variety. Today I a very easy run, just under a mile.

So, tired now, but a good tired and very glad to be back.

UmBongo · 02/05/2015 21:25

Yay - done the first shred tonight, dh has then come home with a box of Maltesers for me! And a bottle of wine. Oh well, I'll start with move more, and go on to the eat less part some other day. Cheers Wine

A few more shreds then back to the C25K as well, as I got a bit bored with the shred last time I did it. It's good for dark nights and/or shitty cold weather!

I only have 1kg weights granny - that's enough for me!

UmBongo · 03/05/2015 12:38

Bit achey today - day 2 tonight is going to hurt. [wanders off muttering no pain, no gain, no pain no gain...]

ImogenQuy · 03/05/2015 17:41

Welcome, UmBongo and grannygrotts! Lambzig, like you I worry a lot about the lack of proper sports bras - admittedly most of them are less, um, endowed than I am, but even so their ligaments must be taking a pounding.

We're into a new month so I've started a new thread here. Should have done it on Friday but didn't realise it was the first of May till I'd posted.

mildlyacquiescent · 07/05/2015 08:39

Spent weekend without with my friend, who is a fellow Jillian fanatic. We were sitting in the pub all animatedly discussing the various workouts and comparing Basheera, Mattie, Anita, Natalie, Kristen and Saleema as though we knew them personally. It was quite a while before we realised how
completely sad this was! (But did you Know that Kristen from BFBM has her own workout vid? Her voice is all squeaky and high-pitched.It's really odd! )

At the moment, seem yo have settled into an unplanned routine of alternating KB&T with 6wk6pk, usually followed by 3-4 circuits of BFBM. (3, 4, 6 & 7)

ErrolTheDragon · 07/05/2015 09:23

Oy, mildly, it's May now! Get yourself over to the new thread, link is in Imogens post above yours!

I don't think I've got one with a Mattie, which is she in?
