Body Rev, phase 1, week 1, workout 1 second time done.

It would seem the plank is harder with a 17kg toddler climbing on your back.

Bit worried what I am going to do when my building work starts next month, I guess I will have to try to switch to evenings, which I never do. How do you motivate yourself after the kids have gone to bed?

I have been doing trying to eat better for a couple of weeks now after reading Eat, Nourish, Glow, apart from huge lapses at the in-laws at the weekend. I have lost a couple of lbs, but more importantly I have lost four inches from my waist. The 12 hour fast is really hard on my work days in London. Getting up at 5 and then not being able to eat until 0930 is very hard.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/04/2015 12:21

Did NMTZ this morning.

Body rev seems popular... but a 6 day program is too much.

MsRaspberryJam · 14/04/2015 12:48

I did level three of Kickbox Fastfix yesterday. Was very convenient to do, as was genuinely 20 minutes instead of the "20 minutes" it takes to do the Shred.

Lambzig, when I had a toddler, I would try to distract them with something so that I could work out with them in the room. It was very difficult to motivate myself to work out after the exhausting bedtime routine.

DS went through a phase of getting jealous of Jillian and trying to put me off exercising with constant cuddles. But he is used to it now and lets me get on with it. He even joins in sometimes.

drspouse · 14/04/2015 19:47

And after a long hiatus L3 D4. Went down a notch from the last time I did L3 but it was fine on the wrist, as was Pilates yesterday (I was pretty good at the plank at Pilates too, I thought!)

I used the mouse at work yesterday with my left hand at that seems to have helped so I'll keep on doing that.

blodynmawr · 14/04/2015 20:53

BFBM today.
NMTZ tomorrow and Hard Body Thursday.
May up the NMTZ frequency to get good arms for summer tops....Smile
Nice that the mornings are lighter now - not such an effort to get up early to workout!

ErrolTheDragon · 14/04/2015 21:36

Yes, I found it impossible to start exercising before it was light in the winter. And today the late afternoon was lovely so we got a dog walk in too. Smile

I've seen Hard Body mentioned a few times, what format/focus is it please?

BiggerYellowTaxi · 15/04/2015 06:26

Body Rev Ph1 Wk1 2nd Workout 1 done. I didn't do the cardio yesterday but went running last night instead.

Errol Hard Body was on YouTube but has been deleted now. I haven't done it yet so I'm not sure what it's like.

ImogenQuy · 15/04/2015 07:03

Body Rev phase 1 week 3 cardio done. Oh, the tedium. One more time and I'm done with that workout, and Lambzig said upthread that the other two cardio discs are less dreary.

How long is Hard Body? I looked at the description online and it said 45 minutes, which is too long for me, but I thought someone suggested further up that actually that's both workouts together and they're only just over 20. If that's right I might look at it for after I finish Body Rev.

I see she's got a new one out called Killer Body, but it's only available in US format at the moment.

MsRaspberryJam · 15/04/2015 08:02

Hard Body is two long workouts. Each one is two long circuits (so I guess you could break it up easily)

It's really fun, high energy and quite complicated. The time goes very quickly because of that, but I found that I struggled to follow it very well. Also there were some moves that I just didn't have the strength to do all of, even doing the simple version. It really is only very marginally easier to do the other version.

I'm looking forward to doing it again, but I wouldn't want to do it every day.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/04/2015 08:12

Ah, thanks for that MrsR. I tend not to like the complicated ones where you're really having to watch what they're doing so I might not bother with that one. I'm going to do KB&T L1 again in a moment.

MsRaspberryJam · 15/04/2015 12:22

I have done Extreme Shed and Shred, which doesn't get mentioned much, Errol. That one is pretty challenging, but much easier to follow. She also covers quite a big range of types of exercises (yoga, kickboxin, capoeira etc), so it's varied without being too complicated.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/04/2015 12:33

Oh, I've tried that - it was in a set with Ri30 and KB&T. But I didn't like it much - I thought some of the moves in that were too fiddly TBH. I think I prefer something with pretty simple moves that I can do with bigger weights. Not sure if JM has that (other than NMTZ), maybe someone else does.

Lambzig · 15/04/2015 14:06

Someone else!! Sssshhh Errol, she will hear you and come and beat your ass.

No workout for me today as another crazy long day in London. Getting up just after 5 and home at 730, I just cannot make myself do it.

Imogen I am thinking of copying your miss out of session 6 (second cardio) in each week. Its just too dreary.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/04/2015 14:31

If you don't like her cardios in that, maybe take a mix of your favourite moves and do tabata sets with them?

MsRaspberryJam · 15/04/2015 15:01

I've got the One Week Shred left to try in my box set, Errol. I'll try that one out sometime next week and give you a review. We can't have you going over to another team! Grin

MrsStevenPatrickMorrissey · 15/04/2015 18:18

Hi all, haven't shreded in nearly 3 weeks, so just wanted to mark my place for when I start, was on day 2 level 3, should I just continue of would starting again be best....prob won't be doing anything the rest of this week but back to it on Monday...

ErrolTheDragon · 15/04/2015 18:37

Hi again MrsS. I guess it might depend whether you've been active in other ways during your enforced break. But really, it's totally up to how you feel. If you don't quite feel like L3, you could start again but just do a week each on the first two levels.

blodynmawr · 15/04/2015 20:00

I quite like Hard Body as I am so busy trying to get it right the time goes really fast! It is more high energy than my other two faves, NMTZ and BFBM.
Did NMTZ today but only used 3kg weights as felt a bit lazy Blush. Need to focus and do heavier weights next time.

AtAt · 15/04/2015 20:25

Hi all, I was on the Jan and Feb thread possibly under a different name (can't remember when I changed to this one!) and completed 30 day shred.
I then had to stop, as I was pregnant, but unfortunately suffered a miscarriage a month ago.
I'm slowly getting back into exercise, as I'd like to get as fit as possible while we TTC again.

Starting with BFBM, as needed something different from the shred. Did half the workout Monday, and planned to do the whole thing through tonight, but 2 year old ds has other plans, and is keeping me busy trying to get him to go to sleep.
So, plan is to complete it tomorrow, while dh deals with ds. Then, if he is still awake when I'm finished, I can just collapse in bed beside him Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 15/04/2015 20:28

Flowers So sorry, AtAt. But good that you're getting back into exercise now.

AtAt · 15/04/2015 20:39

Thanks Errol I remember you from the previous threads. I'm just trying to move on, and know exercise is a way if feeling good.

ImogenQuy · 16/04/2015 07:12

Flowers So sorry, AtAt - I remember you from the Jan and Feb threads.

Body Rev phase 1 week 3, workout 3 second time. Errol, I think this one would suit you - she says six days a week, but I don't think it's set in stone and it's not how I'm doing it. The strength workouts are quite like NMTZ, but shorter and split into "front of body" and "back of body" sessions (which means you're not training the same muscles on two consecutive days). It's expensive, but I got it on Ebay.

Don't tell Jillian, but I'm also wondering about moving on to someone else's DVDs once I've finished Body Rev - I've got all the JM ones with short-ish workouts, and I absolutely can't do a 45-minute routine before getting ready for work. Someone was singing the praises of Davina Fit in 15 on an earlier one of these threads, so I may look at that. Someone else mentioned Focus T25, which I might think about but it's silly money.

Lambzig, I meant to say yesterday, congratulations on inch loss - 4 inches is amazing!

Lambzig · 16/04/2015 11:23

AtAt, I am sorry that you are going through such a difficult time.

Body Rev Phase 1, week 1, workout 2, second time. No motivation today, but at least I did it.

HowYaLikeThemApples · 16/04/2015 11:49

Can I join? I'm so pleased to have found you all!!!! I started doing 30 Day Shred in the middle of January and after that I was hooked. Before that I never used to exercise. I've since gone on to rotate:

Banish Fat Boost Metabolism (although I can't do some of the moves due to a weak pelvic floor post 4 DC's).
Yoga Meltdown
No More Trouble Zones (I love this one)
Shred It With Weights (using my dumbell, not bought a kettlebell yet)

I've lost 22lbs since January using Myfitnesspal and this week reached my target weight and I'm determined to keep it off!

Can I ask you all how many DVD's you have going at any one time? It's just that I've also bought Killer Buns and Thighs but I'm worried if I do this one as well I'll only be doing each DVD about once a week if you add in 2 rest days.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/04/2015 14:01

Welcome, HowYa. I tend to either stick with one all week for a few weeks (the shred/ripped type) or maybe alternate - I'm doing KB&T and NMTZ this week. I don't think I could hope to remember what weight I need for what move if I switched around too often.

What do you think of SiWW, please? I've never tried kettlebells.
