Hi Lamb

Have you lost any weight with your diet changes so far? I find diet the hardest to change!

So I just did yoga inferno! Not too sure about it but I wasn't in the mood for exercising so that may be why! Glad I did it anyway.

I also get annoyed when I can't do the exercise everyday and I think that's a good point don't beat our selfs up for missing a day just carry on anyway !

fadetoblack · 08/04/2015 11:11

Hi all! I'm a complete newbie to Mumsnet and have joined just to take part in the 30DS discussions! Bought the DVD while preggers and now my little one is 10 months old and it's time for the cellophane to come off. Am at my in laws currently but am aiming to start on Thursday....any advice very gratefully received. Is it okay to post weight and vitals as a way to motivate myself? Many thanks to you all in advance!

ErrolTheDragon · 08/04/2015 18:11

Welcome fade - yes, of course you can post whatever helps you here (and conversely, don't reveal anything you don't want).

tea - having made it through day 3 you are probably over the worst so do stick with it.

jemma2609 · 08/04/2015 19:16

Anyone else tried hard body? I don't like it as much as the others. Hard to follow and the music is too loud Smile. Second level completely finished me off-she does warn you at the start that it is an absolute killer!

polealltheway · 08/04/2015 19:46

Jemma - do you mean the second circuit of level one? Or did you do level 1 and 2?

I didn't mind it but second circuit nearly killed me! And I havnt done the next level yet!

jemma2609 · 08/04/2015 20:47

Pole-Level 2 though both are killers I think. I definitely strained my back doing Level 2 purely because I was trying to keep up! Let me know how you find it.

polealltheway · 08/04/2015 20:56

Wow that's impressive! I just about got through the first level Confused

jemma2609 · 08/04/2015 21:30

Haven't done it since mind you...Blush

Lambzig · 08/04/2015 22:06

No weight loss so far, but I have only been doing the diet changes for a week. I am craving vegetables though. Just driven round the m25 back from my sisters and all the way back I could only think about the salad I would make when I got back. Not like me at all. I want to change the way I eat (totally reliant on sugar cravings) rather than diet IYSWIM.

Weirdly can't wait to do the exercise tomorrow am.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/04/2015 00:11

Quite right lambzig - not much point 'dieting' unless you change the way you eat to some sort of healthier balance.

ImogenQuy · 09/04/2015 07:13

Hi Lambzig, very glad you're back. Good luck with the changes to your diet. I ought to eat less sugar too: I stopped drinking alcohol on Monday to Thursday evenings last year, and I find I crave sugar to replace it, which is annoying as I don't really have much of a sweet tooth.

I'm doing Body Rev too at the moment: only started at the beginning of last week so I'm still on the relatively easy bit. It'll be good to have someone else on here doing it.

Body Rev Phase 1, week 2, workout 1 done. No matter how much JM I do I'm never going to find chair squats with front raises easy - the squat is fine but lifting the weights is a killer.

MsRaspberryJam · 09/04/2015 09:44

Is this the one you have, Pole?

I haven't tried Hard Body yet. I will do it on Saturday if it is recommended. I'm still struggling to walk after Yoga Inferno. How did you find it? I found I needed pretty good balance.

Lambzig · 09/04/2015 09:59

Body Rev, phase 1, Week 1, workout 2, first time done.

Not too grim, I can tell the cardio is gone, but I feel quite strong.

I am completely with you on the cardio Imogen, particularly the one in phase 1. I am going to be doing a "Jillian week' of six days before moving on, even if that "week" actually takes two weeks.

Off to make courgette, spinach, onion, mushroom and tomato frittata for brunch.

drspouse · 09/04/2015 11:29

Went for a swim this morning for something different!

drspouse · 09/04/2015 11:40

Oops - meant to add that I had been doing a very very long time ago parts of the Swimfit programme. It has circuit type sessions on cards by the poolside but I find the website desperately difficult to navigate, so trying to log progress is a bit frustrating. Anyway though I did 18 lengths the suggested programme of lengths seems so lazy after Jillian e.g. you rest for 15 seconds or even 30 seconds at some points!

Trenzalor · 09/04/2015 16:04

Yesterday I did my thirtieth day of the shred. I've got about another four days to go on level three though to complete ten days on that level (I did twelve on 1 and 2).

I'm not sure what to do after - rotate through all three levels over the week or move on to Killer or Ripped (both downloaded ready).

Lambzig · 09/04/2015 17:37

Trenzalor, my experience last year was that going onto Ripped straight after 30 DS really stepped up the challenge and although harder was a bit more fun and had good results. Depends on what you are after.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/04/2015 18:11

Ri30 is the most obvious one to go onto if you like the shred format. By Killer do you mean Killer Buns and Thighs? I'd say that was another step up again, and fairly obviously targets the lower body. I liked that too - might be due to give mine an airing soon, maybe do that 3days pw and free weights for upper body the other two or something like that.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/04/2015 18:12

Oh, and I forgot Star Trenzalor Star on getting to 30 days!

Trenzalor · 09/04/2015 18:42

Yep, it's killer buns and thighs. I might just choose one at random then!

coalscuttle · 09/04/2015 21:13

Is Body Rev lots of cardio? I seem to be alone here in loving it....

ImogenQuy · 10/04/2015 07:31

Well done, Trenzalor !

Body Rev phase 1, week 2, workout 2 done - on to workouts 3 and 4 next week.

coalscuttle, Body Rev is a bit more complicated than some of the others - the theory is that you work out six times a week, four strength (with one cardio interval in each circuit) and two cardio. I suppose you could do the cardio more often but you'd get bored - I haven't done phases 2 and 3 yet but phase 1 is three identical circuits, and there's only one cardio workout for each phase of the programme (whereas there are four strength ones).

trainersandcake · 10/04/2015 07:46

I'm late to the party (same one my neck is not invited to) but I started shredding yesterday!

Lambzig · 10/04/2015 08:03

Body Rev, Phase 1, cardio 1 done.

God how I loathe that cardio, so boring. Can't believe I have to do that 8 times. No matter how fit I am (and as I suspected, I am really not, my cardio fitness is on the floor), I will never ever be able to do the running man with any competence. If I wasn't so unfit I would be skipping it too.

Imogen the cardio in phase 2 is slightly less dreary. I got to week 8 last time, but never made it to phase 3.

At the in laws over the weekend now and then 15 hour day at work on Monday, so my next will be Tuesday. I need not to give up if it's just fthree times a week.

coalscuttle · 10/04/2015 09:23

Thanks Imogen. That sounds complicated! Also I am not sure I can do 6 times a week - four seems to be my ideal of getting results but not getting bored.
