Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 08:36

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

I'm having the morning off as my tummy muscles are killing me!

anniepanniepears · 10/03/2015 07:43

did not manage anything yesterday as Iam feeling rotten went to bed early and slept right through the night ,still fell a bit wobbly this morning
had a cup of tea and a piece of toast
hope I can get back to the dvd tonight

Lozzapops · 10/03/2015 08:17

My Davina DVD arrived in the post more than two weeks ago now, and it is STILL in the wrapper, as I have been struck down with the lurgy and can't walk up the stairs without coughing and wheezing! Need to get better sharpish, or my motivation to actually get on and do the workouts will be dead and buried!

PlumpingIsQuiteUpForScrabble · 10/03/2015 08:25

Just tried the Ultimate Fat Burner, reasoning that it was probably just an alternative of the regular Fat Burner and not 'ultimate' at all. This assumption was not correct. OWWWW.

Fortunately the subsequent session of Tone and Sculpt was gently soothing by comparison.....

helpmehelpyou · 10/03/2015 08:50

Right, the sun is shining here, eventually. It was bloody awful all weekend. I've just done ultimate fat burner, ultimate legs and tone and shape.
I have a morning off work so I'm off for a extra long dog walk and if I have time to squeeze in half an hour gardening before it rains again.
I can't wait for the summer I'm so much more motivated.

stevienickstophat · 10/03/2015 09:08

Well done early birds!

Lozza and Annie - wait until you're properly well. There's no point at all in hurting yourself. This about looking after ourselves and being healthy. Rest is more important than anything else if you're ill Flowers

Amazon, that's great!

I need to get lower in the squats. In fact I need to get low in the squats. At the moment I look like I'm about to sit down then have remembered something Grin

Wow ... you lot are at it early .... well done! Stevie this is a great thread, thanks!

I've done warmup, fat burner (no ultimate for me just yet) and tone and burn. I think I'll have to skip fat burner tomorrow (I really like it) as my hamstrings are absolutely killing me. What shall I do instead? Tone and burn for certain with either abs or the stretch session. Not sure. Am wary of abs because I had my gallbladder out last year and even now feel a real tug at one of the incision sites ... maybe scar tissue?

Anyway, enjoying it and getting pleasure from the aches which prove I'm doing something!

stevienickstophat · 10/03/2015 11:32

Total Stretch is gorgeous, Mrs McGregor. Really relaxing.

That made me chuckle Stevie, I feel like Kim Kardashian when I stick my bum out, one can dream!

Really did feel good this morning.

holidaysarenice · 10/03/2015 12:09

I'd love to do these! Are the DVDs online anywhere? I don't have a DVD player so need to watch online? Or if not I could buy a cheap player/use my laptop where did you rose the DVDs from?

currentnameinuse · 10/03/2015 12:51

they are on Youtube Holiday. You could play a dvd on a laptop though?

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 10/03/2015 14:35

My bum hurts today. Sitting on the toilet is an issue. Grin.

Which one was good for arms again? I want to do that tonight.

stevienickstophat · 10/03/2015 14:47

Tone and Sculpt, I think.

Thanks Stevie.

HemanOrSheRa · 10/03/2015 15:32

Holiday I downloaded mine from google play and have it on my phone. If that's any help? I think you can get it from itunes too. But I'm not 100% sure.

I've gone a bit mad on carbs today and I'm starting to feel very weary. I think my PMT has begun Angry. DP is out tonight and DS has scouts for 2 hours so I'm determined to do something. After I've had a little lie down.....

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 10/03/2015 16:50

Holiday I downloaded mine from Google Play too. It was £9.99 which was cheaper than the dvd.

stevienickstophat · 10/03/2015 17:56

HeMan, I was rubbish during Witch Week. I only managed a couple of sessions and ate loads of crap. But I just decided to go with it. I listened to my body and this week I'm on it like a car bonnet Grin

Just a warm up and fat burner tonight, as it's date night and my dinner's nearly ready.

I'm wearing a very special date night outfit of sweaty gym gear, trainers and red lipstick GrinGrin

stevienickstophat · 10/03/2015 18:21

I sneaked in one through of the stretches too Wink

Grin Stevie! Have fun!

Pete, me too! You should hear my moans and groans. No pain, no gain!

KoalaKoo · 10/03/2015 18:58

So two questions for you lovely ladies, what's the benefit of the 2kg Davina weights in Argos with the extra "handles" as compared with the ordinary ones without handles?
And, is anyone on here getting good, visible and quick results just doing 1x7min episode a day, or are the good resulters doing more than this?

HemanOrSheRa · 10/03/2015 19:38

Koala I've got Davina's 1kg weights. I haven't found any benefit with handles for the exercises in the 7 min fit but I should imagine if you were doing tricep kickbacks they would be useful.

I can't speak for anyone else, obviously, but I don't think I would see the benefits I have, so quickly, by just doing 7 mins a day.

Have a great evening stevie!

PeaceOfWildThings · 10/03/2015 19:56

MrsM sounds like steetch would be good. Do some extra hamstring stretches while you are warm and sip water before, during and after sessions. Helps to minimise the stustiffness the next day.

I've had a day off workout sessions but have been on my feet for hours and feel like Ive done loads! Grin

Ledkr · 10/03/2015 21:30

Well mine finally arrived so I'm going to do some tmw night!
I did zumba last night and work was manic today so I gave myself a break.
I'm going to have a watch and probably do as many as I can manage tomorrow. Ds is going to do them with me with her perfect size 8 body Hmm maybe that will motivate me.
