Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Oops, posted too soon!

Did tone and sculpt as didn't feel up to fat burner energy this morning! Tone and sculpt was lovely, really felt it working my arms even with only my tins of soup!
I'm not sure what constitutes high and medium impact I'm afraid but I'm sure someone that does will be along soon!

gamerchick · 09/03/2015 07:58

I'm the same jeanette a lot of stuff is out for me because I injure easily.

What I did with this was did the warm up (I also do the warm up again afterwards to finish) and the boxer fit only for a week. It's tempting to push it but I was strict. The aim was to get my back and joints used and get a bit of strength.

Then the week after I did the warm up and picked something different, ending with the boxer fit.. as the weeks go on I up it by an extra routine added on mixing and matching but always ending on the boxer fit.. so now I can work out for a decent chunk of time and I've had no injury by taking it slow. Aching muscles yes but that's a clean pain.
Watch the tutorials and always warm up properly.

HemanOrSheRa · 09/03/2015 08:25

Jeanette I discovered yesterday that it's on YouTube now!

velmadinkly · 09/03/2015 08:56

Grin Grin Grin i'm a bit late posting, but I did warm up, fat burner, ultimate fat burner, abs and some stretch this morning. I'm feeling really good on it.

I have quite a big small change (an oxymoron if I ever heard one!) is that when I put my clean work trousers on I didn't have that tight waistband feel. It felt as though I'd had them on for a few hours and they had 'given' a bit.

I also feel as though I'm standing much taller. The two are possibly linked, but hey ho, something's working!

Tonight, I am not going to snack on flapjack, hot cross buns or anything of the sort after my tea. I will brush my teeth after my tea to stop me eating.

PeaceOfWildThings · 09/03/2015 09:42

I did a warm up, low impact upper body with 2kg weights and cool down stretches this morning. 50 minutes in all, and I only skimped on a few press ups (because my wrists were hurting). Still feeling the buzz of endorphins. I think I'll be stiff tomorrow though.

HemanOrSheRa · 09/03/2015 09:51

Yes! *Helena! That was the article I read yesterday.

stevienickstophat · 09/03/2015 10:07

That's a great article. Very interesting.

Morning! Despite hamstrings protesting so loudly that I can hardly walk, I have limped through warmup, fat burner and tone and sculpt. Am somewhat rosy cheeked now! Anyone else have problems with posture? I cannot bend from the waist with my back straight, just can't. And I cannot swing from the waist whilst keeping my hips locked .... oh no! Any advice on those bar practice?

HelenaVagBasket · 09/03/2015 10:31

I am trying not to weigh myself too much. I have lost enough since the new year to take my bmi back down to within the healthy range , now I just need to tone up and get fitter.

MrsMcGregor I find it hard keeping my hips still! I am getting better with practise though.

stevienickstophat · 09/03/2015 10:37

I think that might come with core strength, Mrs McGregor. I've noticed I'm getting better at it as I get fitter.

I do have problems with posture. Before starting any cardio/resistence/weights training or even running, I spend an hour a day the week before doing stretches and pilates work on core and hamstrings, just using my body weight. Once I feel my legs and core have muscles that I am using properly (I'm a one for getting form wrong so I go slowly) then I start on this type of exercise. If I can't get the form right (e.g. straight back ) then I don't do that exercise, I find tutorials and exercises to work on improving my posture - but usually when DH or teenage DC is home to tell me if it is right.

I used to injure myself a lot because I hadn't built up the muscle memory of correct posture and form. It took a lot of classes for me to get there with it, over the years, as my coordination and balance etc are so poor.

Is there something in Davina's tutorials about how to work on a straight back? If not, you might find some pilates helps, especially abs and legs.

BuzzardBird · 09/03/2015 11:06

I have finally pressed send on Amazon. I need to gets weights now don't I, or shall I just grab my tuna? Grin

Wished I had ordered a month ago and then I wouldn't have had to read 811
messages! Blush

Wish me luck, really need to get my ass into gear. Had to give up work last year due to ill health and really want to start feeling fit again.

BuzzardBird · 09/03/2015 11:09

And btw, scales are for weighing your suitcase, not yourself. Grin

stevienickstophat · 09/03/2015 11:20

Good luck, Buzzard - but you know what? You don't need it. This is so doable, and you've already done the hardest bit - making the decision to start. I promise you'll feel better in a week Grin

I've just done my first workout. Started with Fat Burner, then Tone and Sculpt, and Total Stretch.

And do you know what? It wasn't actually that bad. I probably could have done more but I thought that was enough for a first go. I'm really hungry now though.

MrsMcGregor · 09/03/2015 13:15

Buzzard ... me too, read for weeks before downloading the app!

Moodykat · 09/03/2015 14:03

Well done Pete! And good luck Buzzard! Even if you only manage to fit in one session every other day (like me) that is still something to be proud of as it is still more than before!

JeanetteDanielsBenziger · 09/03/2015 17:18

Thank you, Will check it out on youtube :)

stevienickstophat · 09/03/2015 17:59

Okay, I had a bit of a change tonight.
Warm up, ultimate legs, tone and burn, total stretch.

Ultimate legs was hard - I'm sure my cries of "Argh ya bastaard" could be heard reverberating around my village for miles Blush

Loved tone and burn particularly Ed's little pelvic thrust before the squat

Missed my fat burner though. Think I'll try to always include one.

New Little Difference - I have biceps! More water pistols than guns, but they're there!

Zippyandbungle · 09/03/2015 18:04

I do miss the fat burner if I don't do it too. I did ultimate fat burner this afternoon plus tone and burn and I'm off to pilates later so really couldn't face too lots of abs in one day.

AmazonGrace · 09/03/2015 18:22

I'm on it again in the morning. Well done to everyone, love this thread Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 09/03/2015 18:24

I'm very impressed with those of you who are doing it everyday. I'm having a day off today. My left buttock is sore after yesterdays efforts. I also have 'form' for throwing myself into exercise regimes, going overboard and then giving up. So I'm going for it tomorrow.

I found the legs really hard yesterday stevie. I went a bit funny half way through and nearly threw a weepy tantrum Blush.

MrsMcGregor I'm not sure I'm keeping my hips 'square' during the fat burner either. I'm getting better though. I just keep going, working on the basis that at least if I keep moving it's doing something.

velmadinkly · 10/03/2015 06:58

I've just completed warm up, ultimate fat burn, box fit, tone and burn and some warm up. I love it!

AmazonGrace · 10/03/2015 07:01

Warm up and ultimate legs workout NAILED Grin

I actually wanted to do this! Jumped out of bed, workout stuff on, kettle on, dvd fired up, glass of water ready and did it. I've never felt so awake first thing.

Best thing is though, I'm getting lower in the squats and higher up with my leg in the lunges, also jumping higher from the squat position. I can feel myself getting fitter.
