It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

And that's the only reason I'm using 3kg, Dp was very encouraging once I told him I was doing the Davina DVD (have you tried saying that quickly btw) and told me he had a small set. Better than my beans though!

I do this dvd... more to come off anxiety med than anything and I definitely need less of them with the added bonus of hardly needing codeine and other painkillers (was on loads).

Amazing how much stronger you get in your back and legs really quick. Keep it up.

That weight looks ok to me Amazon. I'm very jealous of your DP's Shed of Dread. My DP has the Room of Doom. Which DS and I keep on to him about as we want it as an extra study/tv/relaxing room. Instead he's turned it into his horrible smelly man cave Angry. Still, keeps him out of the way....

Now I've got myself into a muck and fuddle over whether to buy 2kg weights or 3kg ones. I underestimated how effective the exercises would be when I bought the 1kg weights I'm using now. I should really have faith in myself, go for the 3kg and swap back to the 1kg if I struggle at the end of the set. I'm rambling......

I use 2kg and they seem a bit light, but I want to tone, not build muscle.

Someone said upthread that Davina's are 2kg.

I have 2kg weights - I think the leap to 3kg may be a bit much for you. 2kg is plenty and I think it may be a while, if ever, I progress to a 3kg weight. I have the pink 2kg ones Davina uses. Ed uses the 3kg ones.

I know I'm chuffed to bits. Grin upped my workout this morning and haven't needed a painkiller or a beta blocker at all. Usually I'd be taking my third by now. Nice side effect to the clothes fitting better ill say.

Good reason to stick at it don't you think just for that? Grin

I do worry I'll end up with Popeye arms Grin I probably think 2-2.5kg are ideal, especially if you have to use both during some of the sessions? Tbh though as I'm using both arms to lift and swing during the squats it doesn't seem that heavy.

I've not done any of the DVD today, but I did make a really nice beef casserole and an apple crumble. I've just eaten it and it was delish. There is no chance I'll be doing anything this evening, but I will be definately back in it tomorrow.

I took DD to soft play and as I was climbing the 3 flights to their entrance I did feel a difference in my butt and thigh muscles, as though they were tighter and my thighs didn't even feel the burn or anything Grin

18 weeks until my abroad holiday and I'm determined to feel as though I couldn't have done anymore than I have with regards my eating and exercise. I just need to convince myself not to eat unnecessarily, so I'm going to brush my teeth early after finishing my tea in an attempt to deter me from snacking in the evening.

My weights are some argos V-fit ones and they are really odd weights at 1.1kg, 2.3kg and 4kg. I'm using the 2.3kg and I can just about manage with them.

Amazon I occasionally poke my head around the door of the man cave just to tut and complain that he has a whole room to himself. It's 'orrible in there Confused.

I'm the same velma. We're not going abroad this year but I am determined like you to have done my best instead of being annoyed with myself and thinking, 'if only'....when I squeeze myself into my wetsuit to go surfing with DS.

Mine are 2 Kg small chrome covered iron dumbells which are just right for me. Years ago I had some 1kg ones which became far too light.

I also got a 6kg kettle weight in case I wanted something heavier, for later on.

I'm not doing the dvd at the weekends as feel they are my lay-in, no rush days. Instead I have been doing yoga in the evenings, which I also have a new found love for.

I have ibs caused mostly by, I think, stress and anxiety. Since starting on this exercise thing I've notice that everything feels better. This can only be a good thing!

Am going to invest in the 2kg weights as my tins of big soup are not working well! stevie, honestly I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This dvd and thread have started me on something that feels like the best thing I've done for ages. That applies to everyone else that posts too.

Anyway, enough of the vom-inducing stuff! We rock!

Quick question .... I've only done the warmup and fat burner so haven't watched any other sections but do any focus on upper body/arms? Thanks!

Mrs McGregor, the tone and sculpt section is good for arms. I think tone and burn is too.

Yes MrsMcGregor the tone and sculpt is all about arms and upper body. It has worked wonders on my back fat and I'm getting a bit of shape in my upper arms too.

You need two weights for it. It's not too strenuous. It does involve push ups though so you might want a mat. The push ups are done on your knees IYSWIM. It's great for abs and pelvic floor too. I was HOPELESS at them at first and could barely do one but I've stuck with it and did them all today. Davina clearly hates them and appears to struggle, that makes me feel much better Smile.

Hello, I've been lurking on this thread wondering if I might be able to do some of these workouts but I have a couple of health conditions which means high or even medium impact is out.
I see on google play you can buy the individual sections so am thinking of getting the stretching one.....Which others do you think would be okay?
