Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

stevienickstophat · 15/02/2015 08:36

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Hi everyone,

I've had a quick read of the thread and will definitely download the DVD when I get paid.

Are there any good arm exercises? I have a bingo wing issue.

Auburnsparkle · 28/02/2015 12:37

I dunno if it is down to Davina - but I have lost 5lbs. Tummy is certainly flatter than it was couple of weeks ago. I generally feel stronger too if that makes sense. Not got a core like Madonna yet - but heck, a distinct improvement. Am v chuffed.

Pete - the arm exercises using weights are really good.

JoolsSchmools · 28/02/2015 14:24

Fitbit arrived today. 7000 steps done already with housework and shopping.
Having weekend off from Davina, figured 5 mornings is enough.
Also somehow bought new trainers, running socks and a fetching green top. Going to start back on C25k when it gets warmer and lighter as well.

This is the most motivated I've been since before DD was born nearly 5 years ago!

HelenaVagBasket · 28/02/2015 19:48

Legs, ultimate fat burner and ultimate abs today. I can feel a difference in the strength of my legs when I do the squats and lunges. I have only done the abs twice though as I find it soooo hard!

BakingMad91 · 28/02/2015 20:27

Just been out and bought the dvd after reading this thread, I managed to find it for £5 in cex. Bargain!

BakingMad91 · 01/03/2015 09:56

I've just done the warm up and fat burner, I'm hoping to fit in another one tonight

stevienickstophat · 01/03/2015 11:24

Well, I'm sure I looked a treat in pjs and trainers, but my word they're comfy to exercise in!

Managed to squeeze a warm up and fat burner in between cleaning up for house viewers!

That's what I love about this. It's doable along with your actual life Grin

Bit of a round up needed, I think!

I've been a bit off it, but have my mojo back today.

Auburn 5lbs off is brilliant!
Well done!

It's fantastic reading all the little differences posters are noticing. Stronger legs, more energy, raised mood, motivation - just great!

You lot are an inspiration.

Welcome to newcomers - hope you enjoy it as much as we have so far.

But now the most important question of the day - where did Davina get that top she wears in the total stretch section? I love it...

Just used the wee fit to weigh myself lost over 2ibs from last weekend
fairly chuffed ...still motivated can manage 2 works outs together now lol
keep up the good work everyone

stevienickstophat · 01/03/2015 12:30

2lbs in a week, Annie!

My scales are broken so I don't know if I've lost any. I'm not sure that I want to know though, because I'll be demotivated if I haven't. I think I'll just keep looking for Little Differences Smile

I can tell my upper back and shoulder blade muscles were in use yesterday due to the boxfit. The back of my thighs also feel 'used'.

I didn't wake in time this morning to get any done, but I'm going to try to get a bit done tonight, then up bright and early tomorrow to do it before work.

PeaceOfWildThings · 01/03/2015 14:53

Well, I havr failed at obtaining the videos through Youtube. I don't have a DVD player upstairs, and the acreen mirroring wouldnt work betqeen my TV and phone. I joined in with the Davina intro and a warm up to another of her series (buff?). Then wandered around youtube and found a different series which I intend to use instead, as they are free.
Not sure if you're goi g to want me on here mentioning a different exercise programme (not that there can be many differences) but thank you, Stevie, for starting this thread. It has really got me motivated ti try out something new. :)

stevienickstophat · 01/03/2015 16:14

Of course we want you! This is about motivation and support - the more the merrier, Peace!

My little difference to report at the end of week 1:
I feel really chuffed I managed Davina 5 days in a row as I tend to lose interest fairly quickly. And I feel good! I may not have lost any weight (too much of ds' birthday cake and totm) but I feel better and more motivated than i did last weekend! Yay!

I'm not abandoning Davina but I thought I'd mix it up a bit and give 30 day shred a go this afternoon. Oh my christ it's tough! But I love it too.
I'll still be doing Davina with a little Jillian thrown in for good measure.
Btw 30 day shred is free on Youtube if anyone fancies it.

PeaceOfWildThings · 01/03/2015 19:35

Yay, thanks Stevie! Grin
I tried a 10 minute standing abs workout this evening which went well, and another 10 minute tummy workout (not as good content, it got a bit boring, but hard work.)

Although I have not completely recovered from being ill (still need afternoon naps) I've noticed I now run upstairs and enjoy that so much, I've been finding excuses to go upstairs for something, just for that little burst of speed.

I think I might try to get back into running around the block this week, if my ankle is up to it.

stevienickstophat · 01/03/2015 19:45

Yeah, I notice the running upstairs thing, Peace - I used to huff and puff but now I bound up, all pleased with myself Grin

Did warmup fat burner and abs today with DD. Really enjoyed it and surprisingly for such a short time I still got the "afterglow" in my muscles all day. I didn't expect that- I love that feeling! Definitely going to do more of this!

velmadinkly · 02/03/2015 06:57

I've just finished, warmup, ultimate fat burner, abs and total stretch.

I can't believe the way the ab thing works. I'm looking forward to not having my pouchy belly. I just need to get my eating under control, so that I can see the benefit of the execise.

Moodykat · 02/03/2015 07:15

Morning! Back on it today after weekend off.
Warm up, fat burner and abs. I find abs workouts really hard as they always hurt my back, was trying really hard to follow the advice up thread, showy I think, but it still did twinge. Will try harder to work on technique.
Feeling great though!

StillaChocoholic · 02/03/2015 08:22

Fat burner, abs, tone and sculpt, ultimate fat burner and stretches done. Had to stop after first set of stretches because I started to feel dizzy, bit weird.

stevienickstophat · 02/03/2015 08:41

Morning all!

Well done - I'll be an evening exerciser tonight. Will aim for fat burner, abs and stretch Grin

9 bloody lb lost this week!
Also tried the abs this morning but haven't got my mat yet and it hurt my lower back. May need to practice the tutorials a bit more but it gave me a proper forehead sweat.

Definitely finding my Fitbit is helping as well, reminds me to get off my arse even if it's just walking up stairs for a min or so.

AlfieandAnnieRose · 02/03/2015 10:32

Wow 9lbs Jools well done! Have you changed your diet much as well as doing the exercise? I'm intrigued to know, as if it's just down to Davina then I am so buying this DVD!

stevienickstophat · 02/03/2015 11:17

9lbs????

Tell me more!

OP posts:
JoolsSchmools · 02/03/2015 14:59

To be fair I do have about 5 stone to lose so this probably won't be every week!

I've been trying to cut down on snacking at my desk which is a big problem for me.

Also only had it 3 days but my Fitbit is really making me look at things differently too, I enter my food on the app and it tells me how many I've eaten, how many I've burned and so on and it's making me think more about what I'm doing and eating.

I've tried all sorts before, SW, WW and so on. It's motivation I've struggled with as I need to see results to keep me going and even in a week I've seen them so I'm hoping this is the life change I need.

So glad I clicked on this thread Smile
