Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Morning! Sorry your poorly stevie. Give yourself a break!
Got up and did warm up plus tone and Burn this morning. It doesn't knacker me as much as fat burner! Maybe one day I'll be up early enough to do both!

Moodykat · 27/02/2015 07:08

You're even.

Ledkr · 27/02/2015 07:23

So hard to commit to excercise with kids. Dd had me up a few nights with earache then this mornjng at 6. I've got a zumba class at 9 and feel like a bag of pooh Grin
I seem to have won two copies of Davina 7 on e bay!
Pm me if anyone needs one!

zippyandbungle · 27/02/2015 07:55

Sorry you're feeling crap Stevie. Your body is telling you to rest so do it. Flowers
Just finished fat burner, abs and tone and burn. Phew. The abs I found quite easy, it's mostly the principles of pilates and I've been doing that for a good few years but you can still feel it working. I might try the ultimate abs next, eek.

blardyfeck · 27/02/2015 08:03

Hope you feel fighting fit soon stevie.
I did another 4 sessions last night and a 7 minute run. I was totally shattered but for the first time in 4 days my body doesn't feel like I've been hit by a truck this morning.
After 4 nights in a row it's got a bit easier and I feel like I'm on a roll now :)
I'm already thinking of getting the 30 day shred DVD after I get bored of Davina (although I do think she is ace)

BuzzardBird · 27/02/2015 09:49

Morning Stevie, hope you are feeling a little better?

Any advice on whether I need a yoga mat if I have lower back problems?

stevienickstophat · 27/02/2015 10:36

Morning all. Feeling a bit better after my sleep marathon. Thanks for all your good wishes Flowers

I would think you'd need something to lie on, but I just use the hearthrug ??

PlumpingUpPartridge · 27/02/2015 10:38

Ooh, me legs.

I tried the abs one this morning and my lower back was KILLING! I think I need to watch the tutorial as I must surely be doing something wrong.

JollyFrog · 27/02/2015 10:51

Well, I've actually had the DVD a week now, it's still in its cellophane! Blush
I've been soooo busy but will crack it open soon, promise!

On the upside, I've been eating healthily all week, cutting out the cakes, biscuits etc and I feel better for that already

Keep on posting, I need inspiration!

PeaceOfWildThings · 27/02/2015 12:09

Sounds like I should get fat burner and abs (hope it isn't hard on the knees!). Smile

Sorry to heat you've been unwell too, Stevie. Sounds like you'll make a quick recovery though and be back into it before you kmow it! Grin

Floopledoop · 27/02/2015 12:21

Ultimate fat burner, tone and burn and abs done today. C section apron is smaller and back fat rolls are diminishing too!

Seeker33 · 27/02/2015 12:29

I like Davina But she is best ignored on exercise. It is her obsession

Showy · 27/02/2015 12:53

Why is she best ignored on exercise? She doesn't dole out advice willy nilly. Her DVDs are designed by her personal trainers.

Hope you're much better Stevie.

Sounds like everybody is doing brilliantly.

Plumping, definitely watch the tutorial v carefully. The abs are designed to protect your back. Any pain at all in the lower back and something isn't right. Stop immediately and reposition.

I'm exhausted. I did the 15 minute DVD today. Cardio, Core and Arms (45mins obviously) and then went for a run for 20 minutes as the weather was so nice and it seemed a shame to waste the opportunity.

I'm going to make a spicy ginger pudding now and collapse in a heap. Still not recovered properly from last week I don't think. Hurrah for the weekend. I LOVE Fridays. It's also pay day today so we have our once a month takeaway. Not sure what yet. Chinese maybe.

Auburnsparkle · 27/02/2015 12:56

I shan't ignore her - I think she is fab. I have even bought her dumb-bells from Argos.

Showy you have done heaps! Enjoy your takeaway - you've certainly earned it. Doesn't all this exercise make you proper starving? Is grand.

Showy · 27/02/2015 13:00

I am permanently hungry. Grin I'm also still breastfeeding which compounds the issue. DH often finds me circling the fridge at an ungodly hour as I mutter about custard.

ItsaTenfromDen · 27/02/2015 13:30

1.5lb off this week :)

Need to get to grips with the exercise more this week

stevienickstophat · 27/02/2015 14:13

Wow, Showy!

Woo hoo, Ten!

I'm raring to go now ??

I've got the DVD and I'm planning to have a go either tonight or tomorrow morning. It depends if DD (6) will let me have a go without wanting to have a go at the same time.

I've got the Vicki Pattinson's 7 day slim which is short workouts, which I like, but there is a lot of getting up and down off the floor, which annoys me a bit. Saying that though I'm not super fit because I go in fits and starts with it.

I've got 19 weeks until my holiday in Majorca and I'm determined to be the best I can be for a 40 year old. I'm not terribly overweight (only 4lb or so), but I do need to lose a bit of flab and tone up, so I'm hoping this DVD will help.

I'll keep you all posted.

stevienickstophat · 27/02/2015 17:48

Okay, just did warm up and fat burner.

That's all for tonight - still not 100% well - but it feels so good!

A few weeks ago I'd have been halfway down a bottle of red by now. This has to be better! Grin

You'll be gorgeous, Velma.

You'll be VelmaSlinky Wink

velmadinkly · 27/02/2015 18:12

I do like the name velmaslinky. That might be my new NN to work towards Grin

AlfieandAnnieRose · 27/02/2015 19:35

Just wanted to say Thanks Showy for recommending six week six pack, I did it this morning (bought it ages ago with the shred) and I love it! Jillian is like a drill Sargent on this one, but it's what I need. It's just the right level of challenge!

blardyfeck · 27/02/2015 21:46

Fat burn, legs (jeez, that's tough), tone & sculpt and abs. And 7 min run. I think I deserve a rest day tomorrow.
Have a good weekend peeps

velmadinkly · 28/02/2015 07:44

Warm up, fat burner, boxfit, fitness test thingy and stretch done this morning all with DD (6 yrs) in tow.

DD is now doing boxfit again and she has got swimming x 30 mins and 1.5 hrs of dancing today. Where on earth do they get the energy from?

I much prefer the non getting up and down off the floor all the time compared to Vicki Pattinson. I wasn't massively out of breath, but I know that I'll feel a bit tender tomorrow.

StillaChocoholic · 28/02/2015 08:54

Fat burner, abs, tone and sculpt, abs, fat burner, stretches all done.
The toddler has started copying Davina's stretch noises and I noticed that I could stretch a little further!
Oh, and I got out of changing a poopy nappy. All in all a good session.
