Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

actually my legs aren't great - but they are okay(ish).

stevienickstophat · 24/02/2015 21:04

I bet they're great, Auburn - don't be afraid to celebrate yourself!

Run 10k several times a week? Your legs are bloody awesome so shurrup. Grin

TeaCup, I think about going sugar free sometimes. Whilst eating gingerbread. Then I think about something else until I've forgotten about the sugar thing.

FairyPenguin · 24/02/2015 22:47

Thanks for the advice, Showy. I was reluctant to do it again tomorrow but I did have a feeling I needed to keep at it whilst the muscles know what they're doing. I lay my weights and mat out, and put the DVD in the player, before I go to bed so that it's easy to get started in the morning. Just need to get out of bed!

I've been lurking on this post for a while, decided to buy the DVD. Today I did the fat burner, ultimate fare burner and legs, my legs were also like jelly. But I didn't have any options like abs/ sculpt and tone and stretching one you speak of.. Have a got the wrong one? Have I just got a cheapo one?

temporarilyjerry · 25/02/2015 05:41

Do you have the 'tutorials' option on your menu, Newchapters ? That's where they are.

Moodykat · 25/02/2015 07:20

Morning all!

Got up early again (2 days in a row - new record!) and did warm up and fat burner. Found fat burner much harder today but I think that's because I've got the hang of the moves now and put more into them. Had planned to do the abs workout too but was too knackered! Am so unfit it's not funny!

Feeling good now though, it's a real mood lifter!

CountryMummy1 · 25/02/2015 07:43

Hi all!! Fab thread! You have all inspired me so I have just ordered the DVD from Amazon. I haven't exercised since I had 2 children so about 4 years and have about 5 stone to lose Blush

What size weights does everyone recommend for beginners? Do you need any other equipment??

anniepanniepears · 25/02/2015 07:48

Iam finding motivation from this thread only been day 5
I do warm up and fat burner and Iam an knackered
last night I manage part of the leg workout as well
working slowly building up my stamina
but really feel a difference already
and there is something about Ed I really like
it has a definite effect on my mood

stevienickstophat · 25/02/2015 09:19

Morning all!

Hello to newcomers - it's brilliant to have you on board!

I think the best thing about the DVD is the positive attitude. It really lifts my mood when I hear Ed or Davina say "This is my favourite" or "That's so nice" - it's putting a positive spin on something that's previously been torture and I find myself agreeing with them.

The pp who can't find some of the routines - the menu is two pages long, so if you go to the bottom of the screen and select 'next' it should come up on the next page.

Countrymummy I use 2kg weights and they're manageable.

No other equipment needed, except something to lie on for the abs and stretches. I use the hearthrug Grin

Well mine arrived yesterday, my first attempt this morning. I did the warm up and fat burner and loved it. My back is not great at the minute so thought I'd start slow (ha). It just takes so little time to feel you've worked. Yay.

ItsaTenfromDen · 25/02/2015 09:24

Had two days off, day 1 because my legs ached and day 2 because of a banging headache. Going to have a go this morning.

Showy · 25/02/2015 09:29

Welcome new exercisers and good luck.

I can't wait for the day you all start buying Davina's back catalogue of DVDs because you are hooked. 11yrs worth btw. Her previous trainers are different to Ed. They are a husband and wife team and funny and lovely. Ed is quite calming isn't he? Just twinkly and unassuming. I was dreading change after years of loving the DVDs but Ed is fab. I am always pleased when people are pleasantly surprised by Davina too. Yes she makes ££ from fitness and it is her brand but she is serious about exercise, particularly for busy parents. It is not a faddy, celebrity, quick fix promotional vehicle. She is motivated and keen to show people that exercise is enjoyable, manageable and achievable.

Must get my trainers on and get on with it...

stevienickstophat · 25/02/2015 09:29

Yay, zippy Grin

Do something nice and gentle, Den. Maybe some stretches?

FullOfChoc · 25/02/2015 14:15

I am very close to buying this one! Can anyone tell me if it includes exercises with weights? (Looking for things similar to shred).

stevienickstophat · 25/02/2015 15:37

Yes, it does!

Am i a total numpty? My ipad only shows the first 30 seconds of each episode... You don't add them all together to get 7 minutes do you??
Grrrrr....

Areyoulistening · 25/02/2015 16:29

Bought the DVD yesterday and done the fat burner today.

Pretty knackered after just that Blush think I'm going to have to take it slow! just shows how unfit I really am

Showy · 25/02/2015 16:29

Weird hrh. Never touched an ipad I'm afraid. Have you tried hitting it with a spanner?

HRH008isback · 25/02/2015 16:31

I'm thingking about it... That would be exercise too, right?

HRH008isback · 25/02/2015 16:32

Thinking....

Showy · 25/02/2015 16:33

Use a big enough spanner and it's a whole 7 minutes weights workout.
