Just putting a marker down for a new thread for the Shreddees! All welcome, and it's not limited to the Shred - all those working through any of JM's various forms of torture are very welcome.

OP posts:

L1D3 done here. I'm quite impressed with myself as I can't believe how much I ache.
I read back through the thread a bit last night & was interested to read the posts from Jan's thread about the body position in certain of the ab moves in L2 as I got as far as L2 last year & thought some of the moves seemed a bit retro so modified them so my back was almost completely flat to the floor throughout (back issues means I can't get it totally flat)
porky yes, I was around a couple of times last year.

DeliciousIrony · 18/02/2015 22:54

AtAt - yes, do them all, although there is the option to pick and choose circuits. It's mainly cardio, quite hard work but you feel good after.

I have done no 'proper' exercise since Friday, whoops. I actually wanted to today but I did quite a lot of walking yesterday and seem to have strained a muscle where my thigh meets my pelvis (hip flexor?). It hurts like buggery. Maybe tomorrow...

AtAt · 19/02/2015 10:39

Thanks delicious feeling a bit under the weather, and haven't had much sleep to ill dh and ds, so will save this beauty for the weekend, when I can properly relax afterwards!
How many times a week should I complete it?

Sofarris · 19/02/2015 11:20

I got a few kettlebells of different weight at Christmas and have been going a bit mad with them since. They're so great! I find some shred videos on YouTube and work out along to them. So easy yet so effective!

DeliciousIrony · 19/02/2015 11:45

AtAt, I suppose use it however often suits you, I have a few different Jillian DVDs so just tend to rotate them randomly - supposed to be doing at least five workouts per week but I seem to be slipping lately! I'd probably get bored of Banish Fat if I did it more than twice per week, just because it's only the one level. Hope you all feel better soon!

MagpieCursedTea · 19/02/2015 16:56

30DS L2 D2 complete!
DH has started doing L1 for moral support Smile

CheshirePanda · 19/02/2015 19:48

D7 of L3 done. And I had a headache. My core is a lot better than when I started so it has been effective. I've been following the elphaba rules. Might try errol's stomach vacuum too. Just need to find something to do when 30DS ends...

dancingwitch · 19/02/2015 23:23

L1D4 just completed...although I concentrated on stretching rather than abs during the final minute of each circuit as I couldn't get rid of the hollow in my back at all today so thought it was better to try & address that rather than do ab exercises.

MagpieCursedTea · 20/02/2015 13:06

L2D3 complete, with a bit of a hangover from all the wine I consumed whilst watching Eastenders last night Blush

drspouse · 20/02/2015 17:27

L1 D5 done, I take it back, I hate skipping more than jumping jacks.

fukkigucci · 20/02/2015 20:11

Just completed day 10 of 30ds L2!
It's been really hard to motivate myself for the last couple of days, instead of working out first thing in the morning once the kids have left the house, I've been forcing myself to do it in the afternoon. At least it's done.
We're going away on Wednesday for 4 days for BIL's wedding. Thinking I'll continue L2 for a couple more days, and then start L3 when we get back. Maybe. I don't know!

CheshirePanda · 20/02/2015 22:09

D8 l3 done. Two more days to go! Amazing.

MagpieCursedTea · 21/02/2015 13:37

You're so close Cheshire! Bet it's nice to have the end in sight Smile

L2D4 complete for me! Lacking in motivation a bit today, really not liking L2 as much as L1 and struggling with the plank moves.

blodynmawr · 21/02/2015 15:45

Haven't been shredding every day this week but have got to L3 D8 too Cheshire!
Any recs on what to do after the Shred?

PorkyMinch · 21/02/2015 20:39

I'm giving up on the Shred early, as I'm lending the DVD to a friend.

So, as from Monday, I'm starting Ripped in 30.

Feeling a little nervous!

Dancingwitch · 21/02/2015 21:21

L1D5 completed having missed yesterday.

AtAt · 21/02/2015 21:56

I seem to be totally sabotaging all the hard work I did completing 30 day shred. Completed it about 10 days ago, and my plan was that I was still going to do a level a day. I've managed the grand total of doing one day.
I planned on doing another DVD this weekend (can't remember the name of it, but it was a 50 minute one) and I'm now not well and have no energy to do it Angry
I was running regularly before starting the shred, but I haven't run for weeks either.

Please tell me to pull myself together, and get back into it!

ElphabaTheGreen · 22/02/2015 08:14

I'm stuggling here too, AtAt. Still haven't started Ri30 as planned. I seriously need to start trying to shift my exercise time to evening after the DCs are in bed, otherwise it's just going to stop completely once I'm back at work in a few weeks.

So fed up of being exhausted and flabby Sad

AtAt · 22/02/2015 08:40

Elphaba, hopefully we will get back into it again soon. Crap junk food is starting to creep back into my diet again as well, so really need to nip it in the bud

MagpieCursedTea · 22/02/2015 10:24

I don't think the miserable grey weather is helping. I just want to curl up under a blanket and eat comfort food. My diet is awful, I really struggle with food Sad

Going to keep pushing myself to exercise though. Just focus on how good we'll all feel once that 20 minutes (well 30) is over for the day!

MagpieCursedTea · 22/02/2015 11:50

L2D5 complete, halfway there!! I'm feeling quite anxious today (got a stressful week at work coming up) and shredding really helped.
How's everyone doing today?

CheshirePanda · 22/02/2015 19:34

Thanks to blodyn and magpie for your kind messages yesterday, and well done to magpie for reaching the half way marker. you're on the run into home from now on. blodyn are you going to join me on Ripped in 30 next?

I agree with comments upstream about diet and food and weather. Today has been snow and sleet and rain and greyness. The swimming pool inflatable session (my personal hell) was packed this afternoon, but DD actually asked to go. Usually she just wants to play with mummy at home (I.e. the same repetitive games over and over and over....I remind myself I will miss this soon )

I think we should have a countdown to Easter, or whichever day spring officially starts. I am trying to think about feeling and looking less saggy and baggy when the sunshine and the shorts come out.

See you all tomorrow for DAY 10 L3!

AtAt · 22/02/2015 21:10

Right, going to do a session tomorrow before work. The question is do I go for a 20 mind shred, or should I try my new 50 minute one?

MagpieCursedTea · 22/02/2015 21:16

Give the new one a shot, live dangerously Wink
Good luck!

AtAt · 23/02/2015 08:29

Bad nights sleep last night, so not in the best of moods this morning, not helped by 2 year old ds refusing to do anything that I asked him to do.

I therefore decided not to do the whole of my new DVD, but treated it as a new level of the shred by doing 3 circuits.
All done, and feel better for it, if not more tired, but it's done for the day. Will do the other 4 circuits tomorrow
