My socks say "Balega" on them.

cinnamon I have some of those twin skin ones too but like you I don't find them very comfortable.

We should swap photos of our black toenails Grin.

balega are easily, far and away, my favourite socks EVER

thinking of my balega socks reminds me of Long Runs, can't wait to be doing those again

Oh my, I feel like SUCH an amateur in my primark trainer sticks that have EPIC or WORKOUT or suchlike written down them Blush

HalloumiToastie · 03/05/2014 08:31

Hi everyone. OK If I join this thread? would love to be able to add to the miles total but can't at the moment.

Another. I was forceps too . 4.5 months on and it still hurts my pelvic floor if I bounce. GP puts it down to ...ahem...advanced maternal age which is very frustrating. So envious of you managing even a jog. Let us know how you get on in the 10k.

Trainer socks... I got the Aldi twin skin ones and they're fab. The only time I got a blister was when I did a marathon and I've not suffered with any toe nail problems.

officelady · 03/05/2014 08:43

Morning fellow athletes! Get us with our swanky running socks!! Welcome Halloumi - did you punch your GP for the advanced maternal age comment? How very unhelpful - not to mention rude Angry
I have been out for my run this morning, in glorious sunshine. It was my first solo run, usually I run with dh (he treats my run as his warm-up then buggers off for an extra 10 miles)

So, adding to the group run stats - my distance was a paltry 2 miles, which makes our overall total so far ... drum roll ...

26.05 miles

orangeflutie · 03/05/2014 08:46

Thanks for explaining burpees office. I might have a go when I feel brave enoughSmile

Smile At sock discussion. I didn't realise there were so many brands; I used to wear ordinary trainer socks but I feel much better in proper ones. It's funny but I feel mine are lucky now so don't want to change, a bit like trainers I get all superstitious.

Well done to all thinking of running soon after babies. It took me nearly a couple of years after my last dd to actually be able to start and then fit it in.

feetheart · 03/05/2014 08:51

Lovely morning here but no running for me today.
I did do 3.4 miles yesterday so that makes the total:
29.45

HalloumiToastie · 03/05/2014 09:05

Thanks officelady .

I refrained but that wasn't the worst of it. She also said that I had to accept these lifestyle changes now I was a mum and that I should do yoga or swimming instead! I didn't point out that at least with running I can just step out the door and I'm off rather than driving 30 mins to the pool/class but I wish I had.

Running in the sunshine sounds wonderful Smile Envy

EauRouge · 03/05/2014 09:12

There was a really good thread about pelvic floor muscles and running, I'll find it for you.

EauRouge · 03/05/2014 09:14

Yar tis.

DH is taking my place in the 10k tomorrow, and I am taking his place taking DD1 skating. I can't skate, he can't run 10k. Should be interesting Grin

Theonlyoneiknow · 03/05/2014 10:04

Found you!! Yey!

Had a day off work yesterday so morning was spent unpacking boxes (moved house 14 months ago!) Then had a fab sunny warm run on the afternoon. 13km in 1hr 12mins which is a PB for me but hard to comparé as i do différent routes each week.

Interested on socks, i also wear cheap ones but think proper running socks will help. Away to read rest of thread and see what you guys have reommended. No running or exercuse at all for next three days as off to edinburgh for first weekend away sans DC in 2.5 years!

RhondaJean · 03/05/2014 10:05

That's a disgraceful attitude from your GP halloumi.

No running for me today, Thai boxing at 12. The blister is less painful now I have proper blister plasters so shall attempt to add 3.1 miles tomorrow.

ThursdayLast · 03/05/2014 10:22

29.45 + parkrun 3.1 = 32.55
Grin I hope

PostHocErgoPropterHoc · 03/05/2014 10:43

This running total thing is bothering me. I'm have a thing about round numbers (yeah I know...) and while I can deal with the 0.1s and the 0.5s, I have an urge to go out and run 0.05 of a mile to get rid of that pesky 0.05 off the total Grin

EauRouge · 03/05/2014 10:48

Can we all start running in miles instead of km until we've reached the target, please? And can we have the next target in km? Grin

CQ · 03/05/2014 10:52

Well, to be fair Post, I did round mine up to 5.7 from 5.65 to try and keep it tidy, so we could knock off the 0.5 as it never really happened!

Shall we amend the total to 32.5 for the tidy-minded then?

Grin
CQ · 03/05/2014 10:53

I meant the 0.05 Confused

More coffee……

Happy to do km next time. Looks like I've run further!

HalloumiToastie · 03/05/2014 10:59

Thanks Eau & Rhonda.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 03/05/2014 12:11

3.1 to offer to the total here - does that make 35.6?

PostHocErgoPropterHoc · 03/05/2014 13:05

Ah, single decimal places, muuuuch better

Thank you for humouring me Grin

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 03/05/2014 13:08

Another 3.1 to add, so 38.7 total now Smile

HalleLouja · 03/05/2014 14:21

Am off for a run in the next few minutes or so so will report back.

LostMyPants · 03/05/2014 14:54

1.7 miles here so new total is 40.4 miles

:)
