Oh I cross posted msmoss sorry!

Thank you, my confidence level is creeping up now, and I really enjoy running. I'll keep doing it as long as I physically can I reckon.

Water is a must for me, but I'm generally a very sweaty person sexy!! so it maybe that. Pics from my route..

653.36

feetheart · 15/05/2014 15:00

3.9 miles to add for Monday and 3.2 miles intervals this morning so that's:

660.5

I think :)

Mitchy - tell the sun to get a move on in Suffolk as we are camping there this w/e. May even be back the following w/e and attempt a parkrun

Tess - I always take water but don't often drink much of it. I think it is more like a security blanket.
I am also red and sweaty within 5 mins of starting out regardless of weather. I blame the Celtic genes :)

cinnamongreyhound · 15/05/2014 17:17

Ooo which one are you thinking if doing feetheart?

Blatherskite · 15/05/2014 17:33

Help! I'm getting a new hoodie for running and can have anything I want written on the back which is great but I really can't decide what to choose!

I made a list of a few but nothing seems quite right.

I've got:

Run.
Eat.
Sleep.
Repeat.

or

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world

or

Run when you can
Walk if you have to
Crawl if you must
Just never give up

So help me running buddies - what would you have on the back of your hoodie?

TessTackle · 15/05/2014 17:35

Hmmm Blathers I like the second two best, the last one probably the most.

fingersonbuzzers · 15/05/2014 17:43

I like the last one too Blathers, and my friend texted it to me just before my 10k - the idea that I was allowed to crawl was appealing!

Like the first one, too, but would it sound better if it was:

Eat.
Sleep.
Run.
Repeat.

(cos I think the original is Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat - but am not cool enough to know who actually did that song Grin)

Beautiful pictures of your runs today some of you! I have a question, though, do you take them mid-run? I tend to do a circular route starting at home so I'd only end up with pictures of my front door as I'm totally incapable of doing anything with my hands when I run!

msmoss · 15/05/2014 17:52

Yes I was wondering when the pictures were taken too, I'm a bit competitive about my pace and would hate to stop and would be totally incapable of taking on the move without dropping something!

I like

eat
Sleep
Run
Repeat

Mainly for it's brevity although I also like the crawling one.

TessTackle · 15/05/2014 17:55

I run around and around a park that I've fallen in love with so if I see something I think is beautiful I'll go back on my cool down walk to take photos.

Blatherskite · 15/05/2014 18:25

It's Fatboy Slim fingers. I think I may be too old to be able to stand the song though Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 15/05/2014 18:55

I like the 4 words too! Mine would probably be something like I run because I can ... And because it helps me not kill anyone :)

Blatherskite · 15/05/2014 19:07

There's always "You think I'm crazy because I run? Trust me, you'd see crazy if I didn't run"

cinnamongreyhound · 15/05/2014 19:20

Sound good!

Jeregrette · 15/05/2014 19:20

I once saw a runner wearing "if you see me collapse, pause my garmin".

I personally love the quotes of Emil Zatopek for general inspiration though they are a bit long for a hoodie:

"If you want to run, run a mile. If you want to experience a different life, run a marathon"

"Why should I practice running slow? I already know how to run slow. I want to learn to run fast"

Look him up if you're interested. He pioneered interval training and won the 5000, 10000 and Marathon Golds at the 1952 Olympics. He's never run a marathon before but thought he's give it a go!

AmberNectarine · 15/05/2014 19:20

5.2 from me. Got so hot I had to give up a little early. I don't think the rucksack helped! New total 665.7

AmberNectarine · 15/05/2014 19:21

How about 'if you're reading this, I'm beating you'

Blatherskite · 15/05/2014 19:25

I won't ever run in it or else I'd be tempted with the Garmin one.

I quite like "I know I run like a girl - try to keep up" though :)

and "Sloth running team. Let's nap instead"

I thought of "13.1 - I'm only half crazy" as it's the same company who organised the first half marathon I did.

TessTackle · 15/05/2014 19:51

Loving all these quotes!
Tried to convince DP to donate some more t-shirts for me to run in but no joy Grin will have to go to tkmaxx and did myself something!
Just checked the weather for tomorrow morning.. Ouch!

Sirzy · 15/05/2014 19:58

So, life has finally calmed to a point I could go running tomorrow morning BUT I have the Manchester 10k on Sunday so part of me says its probably better to have a day or rest tomorrow rather than run? Decisions, decisions!

OP posts:
TessTackle · 15/05/2014 20:00

How many days of rest are best before a 10k Sirzy?

Knackerelli · 15/05/2014 20:01

Some fab quotes there, especially the running like a girl one. Think on a top though I'd go for eat, sleep, run, repeat.

Sirzy · 15/05/2014 20:03

I don't know tess I guess it depends on how used you are to running/distances your body is used to! 10k is currently a big ask for my body which is why i think 2 rest days before the run probably makes sense.

But I may do a couple of km in the morning

OP posts:
TessTackle · 15/05/2014 20:11

Hmmm maybe a little one then Sirz scratch that itch but don't over do it.

Chopstheduck · 15/05/2014 20:19

I like eat sleep run repeat. I actually have the song day sleep rave repeat on my playlist, and I think along to it eat sing run repeat Grin.

My pic was mid cycle, so I had to stop, but I did pause runkeeper to do it!
