Hmm not really. My dad was out of uniform by the time I was born. I grew up near a big RAF base and they were a huge part of the community, but we weren't directly involved.

Both my cousin & uncle have active service with the USAF.

I wanted to go into the RAF but I met my now DH and he talked me out of it!

Runkittyrun · 07/05/2014 21:19

Just checked and actually the monster stuff is the same weekend as RNR.

HalleLouja · 07/05/2014 21:38

So today I ran 3.3 miles which makes 308.9.

Most importantly from my Runkeeper stats it looks like I ran it in 30 minutes dead on give or take a few seconds. That is my PB by over a minute and a half or so. Whoop.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/05/2014 21:48

Well done HalleLouja!!

Hope you had a good run Blatherskite!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/05/2014 21:52

cinnamon Ely is perfectly do-able, but it's the week after Mitchy, Blathers and some other lovely MNetters are doing the WOLF run and I'm not sure if we will live to tell the tale.

But I see registration is not yet open, so there's time to decide Grin

LostMyPants · 07/05/2014 22:04

1.2miles - every little helps!!

310.1miles is the new total.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/05/2014 22:07

Pretty sure WOLF would kill me!!

HalleLouja · 07/05/2014 22:08

Has anyone done One True Grit? They do a 5km "beginners route".

Blatherskite · 07/05/2014 22:17

No run for me. I didn't get home from the hospital with DD and her suspected concussion until 9:30pm Sad She started vomiting and being really sleepy first thing and we've been in Children's A&E or the Paeds Ward all day. We're only home on a pass and I'm to take her in if she changes at all.

Ah well, there's always the next one.

Mitchy1nge · 07/05/2014 22:29

oh blathers, what a worry for you

hope she is ok Flowers

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 07/05/2014 22:54

Hope she recovers quickly Blathers.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 07/05/2014 23:03

Oh no, Blathers, what a day! Flowers Good in a way that you weren't out running when she showed first symptoms and you were able to be with her. Hope shevis clearly better tomorrow.

officelady · 08/05/2014 07:08

Hope your dd is okay Blathers and you managed to get some sleep! How worrying for you.

I had a rest day yesterday and didn't have time for any cross training either so I'm raring to go today. Just got to get through a full-on day at work first! Weather forecast is looking awful too so it might be a wet & windy run tonight! Luckily my MASSIVE order from Sports Direct arrived yesterday so I've got shiny new shoes, socks, top and shorts to test out. I will be beautifully co-ordinated (my clothes, not my running style!) Or as dh very kindly puts it - all the gear but no idea Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 08/05/2014 07:11

Oh no poor dd and you Blatherskite. Hope you've had a good night with her (((((hugs)))))

cinnamongreyhound · 08/05/2014 07:16

Adding my 4 miles so total of 304.1miles

cinnamongreyhound · 08/05/2014 07:17

Sorry 314.1miles!!!

mumster79 · 08/05/2014 07:17

Marking my spot to come back later!

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 08/05/2014 07:52

Oh Blathers, hope your DD is ok and feeling better soon!

No run for me yesterday, DH was late home & I was feeling a bit stiff and sore for some reason. Then I dreamed last night that I took 2 hours to do the Huntingdon 10km! Confused

vladthedisorganised · 08/05/2014 09:04

Oh Blathers, your poor DD - and poor you, you must be exhausted!
Well done Halle on the PB!

Adding my 3 miles to the total - managed it in 30 minutes exactly, which given my unwise decision to run through a nettle-strewn footpath was pretty good. Next time I'm taking secateurs with me!

That makes us 317.1 miles so far. Circuit training for me today (no nettles..)

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 08/05/2014 09:37

Good morning runners!

Hope your DD is on the mend Blathers. It's horrible grey and wet here but I have been out running anyway. My 4.5 miles takes the total to 321.6 miles.
My left leg hurts now though, I could feel it pulling as I was running and now it is sore from the inside of my ankle up my calf almost to my knee. Most annoying, I hope it goes away. I am going to have a cup of tea and a little sulk now.
Have a good day everyone.

Chopstheduck · 08/05/2014 09:38

cardiff, get ice on it NOW!

Chopstheduck · 08/05/2014 09:39

325.4

A quick and very damp run before I go to the gym this afternoon :)

Chopstheduck · 08/05/2014 09:40

oh and blathers, do hope your dd is feeling a bit better this morning. Concussion is rotton.

TessTackle · 08/05/2014 10:29

329.8 with my 4.47 added.
Pissing it down in w.london, most delicious running in the pouring rain in an empty park. Legs are feeling v stiff but still going to try and squeeze a run in over the weekend.

TessTackle · 08/05/2014 10:30

Lots of love to your DD Blathers
