Hahaha OhOne, parkrun will get everyone in the end....

GinAndToast · 12/04/2014 10:22

Turned up this morning, but my littlest couldn't manage it in the end so we only did half of it.... Next week, she is going to try again and we'll see Grin perhaps chocolate related bribery??

cinnamongreyhound · 12/04/2014 10:33

Hope everyone's had a good parkrun, I'm on my way to the I laws so not there today but I did put out some signs before we went :)

Sirzy · 12/04/2014 10:57

First park run done :) enjoyed running with others for a change. Can't do next weeks but will certainly go again

EauRouge · 12/04/2014 11:41

Congrats on your 100th!

I was marshalling again today with the DDs in fancy dress. It was our local Parkrun's first anniversary so there was a massive turn out, lots of fancy dress and (most importantly for DD1) cake. I really need to run more often, otherwise I will never get my 50 t shirt.

Glad you enjoyed your first one, Sirzy, what's the course like?

MysweetAudrina · 12/04/2014 11:47

Am hoping for a sub 30 this week. Irish park runner here. Just relaxing now after my shower and breakfast.

jchocchip · 12/04/2014 14:32

Waves to KristinaM congratulations on your 100th. Thanks Wine
I too started running with c25k thread 2.5 years ago and heard of parkrun on there.
I've done 76 now and very slowly coming back from injury. We had 400 at our parkrun today - was a good day for a run!

KristinaM · 12/04/2014 19:46

Thank you all. 100th run was fun except for the pouring rain. But I got chocolate afterwards ( no cake for me as I'm gluten free ) so it was all worthwhile Grin. I'm still a full minute slower than my PB but hoping to improve over the next few weeks as I'm training hard for the HM

Hi 010203, how are you? And surely you have a new 10k PB by now?

Chip -sorry to hear about your injury

I hear you about naughty behaviour in the funnel. Today I was right behind a guy who stopped dead right as he entered the funnel. Of course I ran right right into his back Blush

Hope everyone else had a good run today

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 12/04/2014 19:50

I'm good Kristina thank you Smile.

I'm 010140 now over 10K, but it doesn't quite have the same ring to it. Would love to get below an hour this year Smile.

I finally managed to drag myself back to parkrun this morning after a break due to general life and a back twinge...run number 38...but to get a time of 30.25 after my sub 27 PB euphoria of a few weeks ago was a bit of a downer :(

So new goals set...50 t shirt and a sub 25 before I hit 40.

OhOne sub 1 hour completely do-able for you!!!!

Standingonlego · 12/04/2014 20:43

KristinaM complete respect for you joining the 100 club!!!

Standingonlego · 12/04/2014 20:47

HalleLouja i am reading the thread backwards so just seen your post about Bournemouth. i ran it once as a tourist at the end of last year. Really friendly, I got a shout out as a tourist Blush. there is a nice pavilion with cakes and tea after so make sure you take a bit of money with you. Course is 2 laps round a sports field with a cheeky little bit through the woods and up/down a little hill in the middle. Really nice, hope you enjoy it.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/04/2014 21:05

We had some funnel probs and now do a little bit in our pre-run talk that people are welcome to do a single lap or to join a friend/relative to help them finish but to please only go through the funnel if they have run the who 5k and then only once.

Well done KatrinaM, I must have missed you on the c25k thread I started jan 2012 :)

Angry Envy :( for missing today, won't go into a long randy post but it's cheered me up to hear all your positives :)

I got ds1 to go round without whinging with cafe post run bribery GinandToast, his first parkrun was a whinging horrible experience but after a few months he wanted to try again and he knocked 4mins of his pb and he's done tokens as a volunteer too which is lovely. I'm tail running on 3rd may so he's going to join me again, he really wants a 10 t-shirt :)

KristinaM · 12/04/2014 22:19

Cinnamon -I was in another thread around October to December 2011. I did my first park run about Christmas 2011. I have had a few weeks off in the last two years y'know Wink plus parkrun ask you to volunteer at least 3times a year if you can

cinnamongreyhound · 12/04/2014 22:43

Still good going to get to 100 in that time. My main problem of not getting my t-shirt is volunteering quite a bit. I think I've missed 4 parkruns in the year and few weeks since ours started but I volunteer at least once every 6 weeks.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 12/04/2014 22:45

What happened today cinnamon?

cinnamongreyhound · 12/04/2014 22:47

Just had to go and see in laws, long story but turned out old in the end. Left early so didn't parkrun that's all, dh gave me the 'you go there every weekend, you can miss one' spiel.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/04/2014 22:47

ok not old!

Jerboa · 12/04/2014 22:52

Hello, I'm new Smile Only been on three runs and I'm enjoying it a lot! Trying to get under 30mins but it's just not happening.

jchocchip · 12/04/2014 22:56

Ah Kristina, that explains it. Cinnamon and I were on Queenrunninggeekmum's c25k thread - I started c25k on boxing day 2011, didn't do a parkrun until March and then didn't start going regularly until July. Not running enough at the moment, every week I resolve to go twiice mid week and don't quite make it - did one run Monday this week. May be easier over easter.

jchocchip · 12/04/2014 22:58

Hi Jerboa! I'm really slow so can't advise - but hill training sessions have worked for my friends.

Lizzylou · 13/04/2014 08:12

Hello all, some amazing times here.
I did my first park run of the year yesterday, first since last September. I just lost the love for running, moved house, had a bad back and procrastinated Blush
I was also annoyed at not being able to crack sub 30, my pb was 30.26 despite running every week. Yesterday I had a very enjoyable run, really felt good and managed 30.45, so am all hopeful that I can make some progress, as I first ran outside again last Monday, surely with more practice I can sprint like a gazelle around the course? Smile
