Hope all parkrunners did well. DP is away this weekend so I gave it a miss. Too cold this morning, but planning a long run (>20k) later.

Standingonlego · 19/04/2014 09:10

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/04/2014 10:29

Hahaha Lego!

Parkrun in the sun is a whole other story- man alive I was red faced!
But in spite of promising myself I would take it easy I was sub 30 according to runkeeper.

Lots of parkrun tourists today too, I even spotted a 250 tshirt Shock

KristinaM · 19/04/2014 10:49

I am going to be a park run tourist next week at the famous bushy park . I am a big Shock at the thought of 1,000 + parkrunners

Lizzylou · 19/04/2014 11:29

Was a windy, cold but sunny parkrun today and I got a new pb of 30:16 Grin
I will get under 30minutes, I will.
Hope everyone enjoyed their runs this morning.

trainersandaches · 19/04/2014 11:49

I did Parkrun with my sister this morning - I struggled in at 29.36, while my sister (who is a club runner) came third.

But it was a beautiful morning and I was glad I'd done it!

cinnamongreyhound · 19/04/2014 12:55

We had over 50 today :) all the juniors got eggs and the seniors got a little egg! I took it easy as I did another 9 miles after so got 29:48 but that's another one closer to my t-shirt, up to 34 now.

We had a few spots of rain but it was chilly, glad you're all enjoying sunny parkruns :)

Blatherskite · 19/04/2014 13:34

Typically, the week I'm in charge we got a record turnout! 527 runners!! Shock

Thankfully, RD shadowing seemed to be a popular option this morning so we also had 4 RDs so more than enough of us to organise it all.

I still have no clue what I'm doing though and wouldn't dare do it alone.

eatpuddingdrinkwine · 19/04/2014 13:56

hello i have been unwell for a couple of weeks and not run at all i didn't even manage the one in Cornwall last Saturday .but today had a lovely jog around my home run with my 7 year old and her friend and we managed a 33.33 i trailed in after them as they did a sprint finish !
well done every one who has run this week Smile am having to up the running this week as have a 10k on next Sunday .

cinnamongreyhound · 19/04/2014 14:10

We had a timer malfunction and a not very experience RD today who 1 min before the start called me over to clear it, pressure but I was fine to my surprise

Blatherskite · 19/04/2014 14:28

I had a panic when one of the scanners started making an odd beep. Turns out that the lady doing the scanning was trying to scan the same barcode twice!

ThursdayConsuelaLast · 19/04/2014 16:19

28.07 Grin

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/04/2014 17:23

Well done Thusday worth a red face for a time like that!

We've just been for a dog walk and passed a runner, ds2 said 'look mummy, a parkrunner' very excitedly. I has to explain that not all runners are parkrunners, what have I done to my sons!?!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/04/2014 17:40

Grin cinnamon, brainwashing at its very best!

My 4yo DD's favourite game is 'parkrunning'. She runs little laps of our house with a huge grin on her face :)

cinnamongreyhound · 19/04/2014 18:50

He's 3 1/2 and has been once when dh had to work last minute on a Saturday when I was RD. He helps me collect in the signs that are near out house at times and he knows I run it, as well as ds1 doing it twice.

thenightsky · 19/04/2014 22:29

No PB today, but I felt bloody good and did an extra lap after I'd finished, so covered 7.5k in all. Nothing hurt and I got that old flying-long feeling I used to have in my prime 10 years ago.

thenightsky · 19/04/2014 22:29

Oh and DS PB'd with 21.23!

SonorousBip · 19/04/2014 22:43

I was volunteering today - sorting out the finish tokens. My new year's resolution is to volunteer at least twice a year. Finish tokens is v easy - had time to go and get a coffee as well. I've done barcode scanning before, which is fun. DH had to do funnel support (ours is quite big) and he said it was very stressful!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/04/2014 22:51

Well donenightsky! My DS PB'd as well today, 25 something.

I got added to the official RD mailing list for my parkrun last night.

I am unbelievably excited :)

yegodsandlittlefishes · 20/04/2014 10:55

Marking place to find out more.

Does everyone start at the same time?

Don't people get in each other's way?

I've looked on the website and found 3 parkruns about 10 miles from where I live so will probably try them all out. Is it ok to do that, or better to stick with one venue every run?
