Just learnt to use my brain - this Saturday is the 19th - DS birthday is week after so I might be ok ohone

cinnamongreyhound · 15/07/2014 17:43

Fancy doing a 10k in daylight with a loads of dogs Blatherskite and OhOneOhTwoOhThree can cheer us on or join in? I'd like to do it with both my doggies as I haven't raced with my big one apart from parkrun which he loves but he doesn't quite have the focus of the little one.

You really are a bit mad on the tourism too Blatherskite, definitely can come and visit us if you can go that far though! I'm going to Mulbarton this Saturday which should be good :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 15/07/2014 23:16

lego it would be lovely to see you! One word of warning though, it is the River Festival and some of the roads are closed which means traffic and parking might be a nightmare. If it looks too tricky we can arrange another time when Blathers is free too.

cinnamon I will think about running it. As you know I am a bit afraid of dogs so might be better spectating. And when Blathers comes to visit you she can pick me up on the way Grin.

As lovely as that sounds cinnamon, I seem to always get legged over by any dog that's around while I'm running and the last thing I need is another injury! I think a trip to your parkrun can definitely be organised though - picking up OhOne on the way.

I think the tourism thing is another of my if-you-think-I'm-mad-come-meet-my-friends things like the multiple marathons. I have one friend from my running club who has set himself the challenge of never doing the same parkrun twice this year - and he's currently succeeding - so that will be 52 different parkruns in a year! He even made it onto the International parkrun tourism list recently. I know a fair few people on the UK list, including my brother and the lady at number 11 overall (which is a fair few places above Paul Sinton-Hewitt - the parkrun founder!) I haven't even made it onto the list at all yet so I seem totally sensible by comparison Grin

although I should be on the list after next week Wink

Hi blathers OhOne and Cinnamon - I think i will admit that negotiating road closures and festivals just sounds TOO hard for a Saturday morning so will pass on tourism this week. Would love a meet up but am soon hitting holiday season too....at this rate it will be WOLF run time....

Blatherskite · 17/07/2014 13:12

I feel sick. The rota has been updated and I am now on there as RD in a few weeks time

cinnamongreyhound · 17/07/2014 14:26

You'll be fab!!!!! And if something doesn't quite go to plan you can always offer everyone their money back Wink as my rd friend always says!

Blatherskite · 17/07/2014 16:02

The two other RD's who talked me into this madness are going to be my Number checker and timekeeper. As long as those jobs go OK, everything else will be fine. Right?

cinnamongreyhound · 17/07/2014 16:37

Yes definitely!

standingonlego · 17/07/2014 23:11

It will be fine blathers you will be fabulous :) You have back up if you need it, which you won't :)

cinnamongreyhound · 19/07/2014 07:30

Signs out for my parkrun just waiting on my lift then off to my fourth different parkrun :)

ThursdayLast · 19/07/2014 10:30

28mins. Back on Lanhydrock time this week Smile
I tried so hard to keep a certain woman in my sights. I know that she is faster than me but not dramatically so.
I couldn't do it though... Next week... There's always next week

standingonlego · 19/07/2014 11:01

Oh my goodness....it was humid today. The rain arrived just after we finished :)

ThursdayLast · 19/07/2014 11:04

So humid lego, no rain as yet here though

cinnamongreyhound · 19/07/2014 16:13

Had a lovely parkrun, 3 and 3/4 laps on grass which was a nice change. Warm but not too bad and I was 4th lady out of 67 runners, 27:54 so a way of my best but fastest for a while :)

How was your 50 OhOneOhTwoOhThree? My 44th today, think I'll be at 50 first or second week in sept.

standingonlego · 19/07/2014 18:27

OhOne hope it went well today !!! Congratulations :)

44 for me too today cinnamon

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 20/07/2014 12:40

Hello everyone - a very wet 50th for me Grin. DSs and BFF ran with me but DS1 dropped out after the first lap because he's got awful blisters from earlier in the week. DH came along and didn't run, but handed out cake at the finish instead.

I am still a bit injured, and was well off my PB (and have no idea how I will ever get back there again) but I kept telling myself that when I finished I'd have 250,000 park run metres under my belt Grin - and actually it is 255,000, as one of my runs won't recorded because my barcode didn't scan.

Blathers you will be a great RD

cinnamon and lego neck and neck - who will be first to 50?!

Best wishes for next week Thursday

Welcome to the 50 club OhOne :)

I ran at Oakwell Hall's inaugural parkrun yesterday which means I've now done 5 inaugurals and made it onto the "most visited" list on the website Grin

I've just checked my results email and have seen that I came first in my age category too! It even stayed dry while we ran Shock

Looking forward to all the new 50ths. Remind me which are your parkruns cinnamon and lego - could be a good excuse for some more tourism :)

cinnamongreyhound · 20/07/2014 22:18

Mine is Brandon country park Blatherskite. I'm rd 9th August and depending if I do another one I hope to get my 50th in the first or second weekend of September but Ds2's birthday is 13th so may not go and rnr is following so really hope I don't have to wait until 27th.

ThursdayLast · 21/07/2014 09:35

Well done OhOne!

I gotsa long way to go, but being a SAHM and having a willing DP makes it a lot easier!

standingonlego · 21/07/2014 19:58

I am Northampton :) trying to get to 50 before hockey season!

standingonlego · 21/07/2014 20:01

If I parkrun every week in summer, will need to be tourist a couple of times, I can just about do it before wolf run!

Blatherskite · 21/07/2014 20:45

Northampton I can definitely do and let's face it, an hour and a half to Brandon county park is probably an option too :)

Come to MK for tourism lego. It's close-ish and easy to find...

standingonlego · 22/07/2014 00:04

Exciting news - daventry parkrun starting on 6th September - a close by inaugural one for you blathers
