I find it super stressful OhOneOhTwoOhThree, it's my least favourite job!

Official time was 30:54 :)

originalpiratematerial · 12/07/2014 12:30

Woo-hoo - despite feeling lots of hip pain after running yesterday, an evening spent stretching and foam rolling seems to have paid off as I did parkrun pain-free this morning. Really pleased. Nowhere near a PB or anything but I really don't mind about that!

originalpiratematerial · 12/07/2014 12:31

And I've said I'll start volunteering from September (I'm not really around much until then).

LollipopViolet · 12/07/2014 12:57

No parkrun for me today :( But, it was because I was at a 2nd interview for a job :)

MelanieCheeks · 12/07/2014 18:03

Back under 30 minutes for me today - very happy!

But also happy for a fellow runner, in his 70s, has been parkrunning for ages but always in and around 31 mins. He zoomed passed me today, I couldn't catch him, he stormed a new 28 ish PB! Ossum, as they say.

karatekimmi · 13/07/2014 08:21

I had a lovey run at climber park, it was a bit hot though!! 34.48 with my DSis. I did 9 miles the night before so was pleased I could move!!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/07/2014 11:39

cinnamon I liked it better than funnel manager Grin except for when people had sweaty barcodes attached to their person and wanted me to scan their shorts Envy. The bright sunshine didn't help, but one of my lovely parkrun friends brought me a cold drink.

Well done melanie and kimmi and pirate. pirate I am interested in hearing more about foam rolling - my left hip/thigh/knee is sore and I suspect IT Band related. My right calf/achilles is also sore but we don't talk about that because it's been the same since last September

Fingers crossed for good news about the job interview Lollipop

DS and I went out on our bikes last night and had a blast. Am hoping to do a Freedom Run later. Have a good week all Grin

We don't have enough runners to have a funnel manager!!

Blatherskite · 13/07/2014 20:59

I did Ashton Court parkrun this Saturday - only a 2.5 hour drive from home so we stayed in a B&B the night before Grin.

It was 2.5k uphill and then you turn around and run back down the hill! The only parkrun I've done which was harder was Lanhydrock as that is the other way round and steeper. It was really, really hot which didn't help but at least my hip held out. It was uncomfortable but not sore. Need to keep taking it easy for a little while longer yet but I'm hopeful that I might be on the road to recovery :)

LollipopViolet · 13/07/2014 21:36

I was called about the job about two hours after the interview. Have to wait til HR call me tomorrow before I can broadcast it on FB etc but MN is so big I can safely reveal - I got the job! Only 12 hours a week, but will fit nicely with college and re-training :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/07/2014 21:50

Lollipop that's BRILLIANT! So pleased for you Grin. Well done!

Thank you :) Was worth missing parkrun for :)

Our parkrun STARTS with an uphill - that's just cruel. Apparently, it's one of the harder ones in the UK.

You know what, I'll post a link to our page on the website, then I won't have to directly name it on-thread :)

my local parkrun

standingonlego · 13/07/2014 22:25

Congratulations lollipop what lovely news :)

originalpiratematerial · 13/07/2014 23:17

Congrats lollipop! Blathers a big [like] for hip improvement.

Blatherskite · 14/07/2014 09:50

Congratulations lollipop! Fab news.

Ashton Court starts with an uphill too. 2.5k of it! We hide the hill at MK right in the middle for when you're most knackered Wink

3.5 hour drive up North next weekend for the inaugural Oakwell Hall parkrun. Every now and again I think this tourism malarkey might be getting out of hand you know Wink

standingonlego · 14/07/2014 13:15

Hey OhOne is it your 50th run this weekend?

cinnamongreyhound · 14/07/2014 19:31

Anyone know box end park?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 14/07/2014 19:42

Yes it is lego are you coming?

cinnamon I have never been but I have heard of it because it's near me and they do triathlons there. Why?

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 14/07/2014 19:58

There is a canicross event there in October, I'm thinking of entering but need to ask dh first Wink

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 14/07/2014 20:31

I will come and cheer you on if it is not the same weekend as the Reepham 10K Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 14/07/2014 21:05

It's the 26th and apparently you can run without a dog. £15 for 5 or 10k. There's a bikejour as well but they are super crazy!!!!!

standingonlego · 14/07/2014 21:20

OhOne I am hoping too - just need to get into negotiations with DH. It would be nice to have a change of scene :) However, it is DS2 birthday BBQ that day so might not be feasible depending on how organised we are!

Blatherskite · 14/07/2014 21:55

Oh Ohone! I'd come and run your 50th with you but I'm doing Oakwell Hall this weekend! Have a fab run.

I did the Votwo Glow in the Park at Box End park. I spent 10k in agony running cross country in the dark with a recently torn calf!
